well, tottenham didnt, we'll score at least one in the first half, then we'll sit back and allow you guys to have a crack at our sh*tty defence, its a brilliant gameplan for those who want to have a cardiac arrest at a young age

I hope we go ultra defensive in the first half when you're at your most dangerous, and I think we can get to half time at nil nil, then go for it second half, hopefully hazard has half an hour in him, to win us the game.

Be interesting to see if this is a ruse or not a ruse from Jose.

The FA will be pissed-the-f**k-off that we're not dancing to their blockbuster song.

Why you so confident you'll score at least one in the first half? We still have the best defence in the league and well set up defensively, probably even more so than if we had a feel strength team

Spurs were tripe then, probably the worst team in the league at that point performance wise. If Norwich, Cardiff etc can get at Liverpool, I am sure Chelsea can. Licking my chops at the thought of Hazard having a go at their garbage fullbacks.

Incidentally, this was the lineup the last time we rested people for the Champions League before a dead rubber (more or less) against Liverpool:  (we lost 4-1)

---------------------Turnbull

Ferreira-----Ivanovic----Terry-----Bertrand

--------Essien-----Romeu----Ramires

------Sturridge-------------------Malouda

----------------------Torres

(bear in mind that Ivanovic, Terry and Ramires were all suspended for the final)

Funnily enough it wasn't an issue when Robbie D did it...

This isn't a dead rubber game though. It was back then. We had no chance of the title and no chance of even top 4. This is different. Win the game we go 2 behind with 2 to go and suddenly it's on again.

Your win on sunday. liverpool will lose. your midfield is still stronger then their whatever midfield as you could play two midfields and beat them.

I think table will be this come 6pm sunday

liverpool 80 36

chelsea 78 36

man city 77 35

it be therefore in city hands to win league. win the game at everton who be missing distin now and their be champions of england

Was that the same spurs that left Sandro, Paulinho and Dawson on the bench in favour of Bentaleb and Danny Rose?

We could play our 2nd team defence and still not be as sh*te as that.

Hope city do win it, assuming we don't have a chnace anymore, but none of the top three are like typical champions they have looked likely to slip up on various occasions, would be good if anyone of 3 could win it on the final day, could see at least one shock result

palace will take point of liverpool and lose to city. their fans dislike liverpool more then city and seem happy to lose on sunday. so  i think city will win their las four games to be champions.

fair play to city. . played good football and though their made meal of winning it they got leaders like kompany that look like driving them over the line.

you might do it but only if liverpool lose to palace deep down and city lose at either everton or palace. can  see liverpool f**king up again after losing to you but can,t see city

still feel it city title to lose

I'd go:

Schwarzer

Cole

Luiz

Ivanovic

Kalas

Lampard

Matic

Salah

Oscar

Shurrle

Ba

i think only difference in that team might be mikel even for oscar but oscar might play as he did not feature on wedesday. either way that team should be too strong for liverpool

Managed to get a ticket for this one in the pub before the Sunderland game.

Club doing a coach for a tenner as well- class deal.

Ok, so it's not the blockbuster game it appeared to be (pre Sunderland) but I would still love it if we managed to ruin the party at Anfield.

The way I see it, the midfield and attack picks itself- Mikel, Lamps, Matic, Salah, Schurrle, Ba.

To be honest it isn't first choice but it aint bad at all and can certainly cause problems.

The defence is where it gets interesting, will players like Ake & kalas be thrown in? Somehow I find that hard to believe although will be happy with anything Jose picks. In an ideal world resting all 11 players that will start V Athletico would be great and give us an advantage going into the game as they have a crucial game against Valencia at the weekend themselves.

Everything points towards a Liverpool victory here, form, injuries, home advantage etc but there is another side to it. Liverpool will feel the pressure going into this one and, perhaps, due to the fact we have little riding on it, we won't. If we can get through the first 15-20 minutes and get a foothold in the game I feel we could make it uncomfortable for Liverpool regardless of the team we have out there. In LIverpools position now I can imagine a Jose Mourinho Chelsea side wouldn't be one of the teams you would choose to play for a crucial 3 points.

We may well not have enough about us with our depleated squad but I can only imagine the scenes in the away end of we managed to get the win despite fielding a weakened team.

we've got the best attack, the game will be won or lost in your box i reckon

jesus that would make such a tense finish, although i think everton will beat city

Remember when we went to Anfield the day Carlo's team virtually won the league when Liverpool rolled over to stop Man U winning the title ?

Brendon a dear pal of Jose and our side not a patch on the one due to turn out against Athletico ?

Yeah I agree, I just think well play the most defensive we have been all season in the prem, 3 in the midfield and with the intention to keep the game as tight as possible, it might be one in the first half but I just don't see it being at least one like you said. Will learn a lot when the teams come out

Not being arrogant or cocky, but so many teams have gone to anfield and scored goals, and even sunderland had them shook. We all know Liverpool start off fast, but they wane severely after 15-20 mins. I really believe that even if we go with a weakened side, we will get something from this game. Liverpool don't like to be the victims of the pressing game, but we press for 90 mins. I do see us coming away with something, if not a win, then a draw.

You sure about that?  :laugh2:

Jose taking a win off a team rolling over is very different to his team rolling over, regardless of who the other coach is.

Jose hates losing. Period. There is no way he will just 'give' Liverpool  the points. There was plenty of bad blood between him and Rafa's Liverpool back in the day. Lets hope he remembers that and sticks it to them on Sunday.

We should request LFC fan Mike Dean to officiate this game so he can finish his job of helping LFC lay their hands on the title.  Hate for Dean and Riley to see all their hard work go to waste this season.  If anyone deserves to lift the BPL title its those 2 lads.
