Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) 27/04/14 KO 14:05 BST

Featured Replies

Personally, I think Jose would be a fool to play not to same the same back 5 as he is going to against Athletico. Considering they would have had no playing time this season together, they need some practice.

Really don't see how fielding a weakened team is sticking 2 fingers up to the fa as some are saying. The fa are desperate for liverpool to win the league and fielding a weakened team gives them the best possible chance of doing it. The only way we would be sticking 2 fingers up to the fa is by winning the game

In other news, day 210 of the Media's Scouse love in, features Sturridge in last nights Evening Standard saying he won't be able to stop himself celebrating if/when he scores against us on Sunday. As  for Sky they might as well just rename themselves Liverpool TV and have done with it.

It must be pretty galling if you're a City fan, never mind a Chelsea supporter.

You're right, Shelly. Sky might as well call themselves Liverpool TV.  The BBC is just as bad. And there's me thinking that the media is supposed to be impartial. Silly me. I started to read the feature about Sturridge in the Evening Standard but had to give up as felt sick.

I'm resigned the fact I'll probably miss this game as I'll be running the Tough Mudder on the day..

..I would absolutely love to come home after the event and hear about how our 2nd string tore them up.

COME ON CHELS

Still getting an odd feeling that we will indeed field our second-string team... But someone on Liverpool's team is going to get sent off and we'll twat the Scouse 3-0.

I don't care about htis game anymore, i'm looking towards the big picture being the atletico game, once again we dont have the league fate in our own hands and needing to beat liverpool plus needing palace to beat them (newcastle arent beating them at anfield on the final day) i'm more worried about winning the champions league and taking gloss off liverpools title run.

it's not about us winning the title. it's about the dippers NOT winning it. at least we give city a hope to steal the title from them.

No it is about us winning it.

It doesn't look like we can so we probably will hedge our bests a little.

If Chelsea can't win the league, people shouldn't really care who else does.

City are not winning the league, even if we manage to beat liverpool. City are too inconsistent and their two best current players are going to be out of their game against Palace. If it wasn't a hard enough ask against Palace with a full strength side, it sure as hell is an even bigger one with Toure & Silva out of the picture.

Completely agree. I dont think City can win it, too up and down in form. We are the only ones who can the scousers, and we need a massive hand from Palace to get it done too.

Hate all this "don't think I will watch this game' and "not bothered about this game anymore" sort of talk. It's so defeatist and smacks of someone who is scared of getting beaten.

Let's remember we draw 2-2 with Barcelona with 10 men and Jose Bosingwa playing in central defence.

I doubt very much the team we send out on Sunday will be as weak as some are expecting, it won't be first choice but with grit and determination we are always going to give it a good go and anything can happen.

I don't really think we are in contention wo win the league but I sure as hell don't want us to roll over and let Liverpool steam roll us and can you imagine the buzz and morale boost should we win on Sunday (and if City lost at Palace too).

I think some people who are acting as if they don't care about this game would change their minds come 4pm Sunday if we won the game.

But people are always going to have preferences. Of course it would be brilliant if we could be the ones to stop them from doing it but to be honest if we can't do it I would love it if city could. Don't even like city but if we beat liverpool and city and liverpool then win their remaining games city win it and to be honest it would be a massive relief. If liverpool win it be prepared for even more bum licking than they get right now which just makes watching any football related program unbearable.

I think liverpool might be forgetting they're playing against one of the top counter attacking sides in Europe, not just some random sunday league side. They are conceding goals for fun at the moment, yet they talk like they an equally strong offensively and defensively. I can't wait to see the scouser's faces when we put a few past them and come away with a win. I reckon Schurrle will be on top form on Sunday and run pool's defence ragged. Suarez will get sent off for lashing out due to frustration, gerrard will pick up a yellow card, and jose walks off a minute from the end in typical Jose style, albeit with a slightly smug look on his face.

Urghh what a pile of toss....As for Liverpools tragedies counting Heysel is incredibly tasteless...Of course London has never known adversity has it, the Kings Cross fire, the Clapham rail disaster, the Marchioness disaster, the numerous bombings etc etc etc....

Schwarzer has to play on Sunday even if lighting can strike twice. The more match minutes the better for any top class player. I agree the game has lost some of its attraction because of the last match but a Chelsea win would put the cat among the pigeons for sure. Nerves are going to be a factor as the end approaches.

Yeah fair enough. I understand why people don't want Liverpool to win the league. Personally I don't care so much.

Mainly because I have long given up listening with sincerity what media outlets have to say about us. It was frankly deplorable that some sections of the media were so cut up when an English team won the champions league.

On the game: I want us to win so that WE still have a chance to win the league. I will be very disappointed if Jose plays any players who haven't played a first team match this season.

I was dead set against Liverpool winning league at first but my opinion has changed hugely.

Give me the choice between winning at Anfield or a place in the Champions League final, it's the latter every time.

So there's no chance of Terry being fit for this? Hope it's Ivan/Cahill then. Think we could've won even with him out but without Hazard I'm not sure.
