Well Defoe's injured at the moment and TFC are in free fall and will likely miss the playoffs again the way they are playing, absolutely sh*te, although it would be a strange deal given that he has only been here a few months...really can't see it unless TFC get a player + in return and it will piss the fans off no end.

Leicester is a good team, 2 points against team 3-5 from last year was more than acceptable. As long as they beat mid table teams like Man United they will be safe from the drop easily.

How quickly has Mata declined? He must be kicking himself for wanting out now.

Damn liverpool, cheap penalty week in week out

I do still miss having Mata as an ambassador for the club, by all accounts he's a top bloke and I used to love how he would make a concerted effort to connect to the fans through social media etc. However, I have to say that, watching the way our team is evolving at the moment, he simply wouldn't fit. It irritates me slightly that he plays for Yanited but selling him was the correct call overall.

I feel a bit sorry for him though as he's been left out of the Spain squad now on the back of a miserable World Cup. He should be coming into his peak years, but does he really want to spend them trying to sort out the mess that is United? I don't see them back in the CL for at least 2 seasons.

If United sign Falcao, that would be one of the funniest panic buys ever. It is literally the last thing they need.

Would much prefer him to go there than Man City or Arsenal for that reason LOL.

It is a loan, so won't cost much. That means utd can still strengthen in the areas they need. I don't think utd's board could be that incompetent to neglect weak areas.

I believe, United board is really clumsy. Falcao signing is nothing but a statement. Look, we still can draw top players. He only replaces Van Persie who is away for a long time. It solves nothing, in my perspective.

It's being reported as a €65m permanent transfer.

Why are United not buying midfielders?

Where are all these attacking players going to play?

Rooney, RVP, Falcao, Di Maria, Mata, Juanazi...

Sheer madness

I dunno...this is Ed Woodward we're talking about.

Plus the move makes little sense from a tactical perspective - as I send in the rumours thread, getting RVP, Falcao and Rooney to play together will be easier said than done. You'd have to shift Rooney towards the middle of the pitch and/or drop Mata to create a 3-4-3, neither of which is particularly ideal.

Balague has just been on sky saying it's €65m.

Just seen the breaking news!

In Balague we never trust!

If you told me last season that United would be bringing in Di Maria, Falcao, Shaw ect I’d have been worried but the reality is the squad is dire and as a team they are a shambles and are already trailing the top sides.

This is a panic transfer, strikers are not United’s weakness…they have RVP and Rooney. This to me screams “Look what we can still do, bring in world class players” there is no long term goal here.

Falcao is 29 and has just recovered from a horror knee injury while not having played in a very long time, this isn’t the same guy who was terrorising La Liga 2 years ago IMO.

As I said, it's like they're aspiring to be the Crapticos.

Haha it seems everyone is clueless as to what kind of deal it is. Loan? Permanent? Do utd even know themselves?! Their transfers have come across as slap dash with not one single bit of logical thinking.

I know we've lambasted our board in the past, but I'm now very glad to have them after seeing other club's transfer dealings so far.
