March 18, 201511 yr Yep Carragher has lumped us together with the non performers because of one bad season
March 19, 201511 yr If it wasn't for Joe I might have had to call JoeyN a king, We were absolutely played off the park, The score line flattered us, What now? Ancelotti as the new head coach but what happens to the squad? and what happened to bringing Patrick Viera in as our next head coach? You know from a holistic perspective whatever that means. What's even sad or odd or weird is, I look at the Premier League table and if we get our act together we can still run you boys close yet if we don't, Hello Europa League, This has been a shocking season for us, From Aguero's dip in form to where maybe swapping him for Bale won't be the worst idea as we can play Bale and Silva along with a Dzeko or Bony instead of having a little man hold the main striker position. To the FFP nonsense, To our owners concentrating on Melbourne FC and NYCFC and taking their eye off the ball on the actual club they took over, The signing of Mangala, The age of our squad, If ever there was a summer where we needed a blinder it's this summer or forget the CL, The Premier League will belong to Chelsea for another 2/3 years barring Arsenal ever challenging properly or the rags waking up from the dead. It's one of those nights where you need a drink, I'm opening up a few and getting away from the football world for a period and by period I mean two days, I'll be back here on Saturday.
March 19, 201511 yr Just went onto the Barcelona Newspaper website MundoDeportivo and they have a meme of Florentino Perez getting on the phone to Hart and telling him he's willing to drop Casillas for Him, I gather it's something along the lines of 'Come play for us this weekend against Barca because otherwise we have Casillas in goal'.
March 19, 201511 yr Good second-half from Hart but the game belonged to Messi, for that first-half performance. How anyone can claim Ronaldo is better than this guy evades me. To be fair, Messi did have a dip in form last season around the time that Ronaldo was absolutely tearing it. But you're right, at their very best, Messi is just a level above Ronaldo and two levels above any other footballer on the planet. You'll probably find that anyone who claims otherwise belongs to one of four categories: Madrid Fans, Man Utd Fans, Barca haters, little girls. Edited March 19, 201511 yr by footballoholic
March 19, 201511 yr Easy to say now when Messi is in hot form and Ronaldo is having his first dip in form of the season, but his record in the first 20 or so games of the season was more than a goal a game wasn't it? And that is from the wing, not up front. Edited March 19, 201511 yr by Jonty
March 19, 201511 yr Just caught up on the City game. Another hammering against an elite European team. I hope Pelligrini is updating his CV....

Wouldn't surprise me to see Cech move to the Bernabeau in the Summer.
March 19, 201511 yr Jamie Carragher - won 2005 Champions League; Thierry Henry - won 2009 Champions League; Jamie Redknapp - won F all Not even the league cup?
March 19, 201511 yr seriously, how can a player be that good though? It is actually immense how superb messi is. He is literally a once in a lifetime player and we most likely won't see another like him for another 20-30 years, maybe longer; simply incredible.
March 19, 201511 yr Hell of a day of football on Sunday: Liverpool - Man Utd at half one, giving Liverpool the chance to overtake Man Utd into fourth; Hull - Chelsea at four, obviously the main spectacle of the day; Finally El Clasico at eight, with a point separating the two teams - Barca in incredible form but Real having won the last two El Clasicos. Mouth-watering stuff...

He is literally a once in a lifetime player and we most likely won't see another like him for another 20-30 years, maybe longer; simply incredible. "Once in a lifetime" is probably correct. Although Ronaldo 'phenomenon' before his injuries was something else. But with Messi, its not just about the goals though. Even when he doesn't score, he's an incredible team player who makes everyone around him better. When Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't score (doesn't happen often to be fair to him), he's usually a stroppy kid.

And that is from the wing, not up front. Think people sometimes forget just how good Ronaldo has been for so long. He has been the best player in the best teams in the best two leagues at the time (United 2007-08 was an absolutely amazing season, perhaps perfect) as well as being the best player in the world at the time too.

I don't think anybody will ever, for as long as football continues, break the records messi has broken, or even come close to his career stats. Ronaldo is another player who is a once in a lifetime talent. You had pele and maradona, but these two have just a whole new precedent for future players that likely will never be reached. I am so glad to have been alive to witness their growth through the years.

March 19, 201511 yr Praise Jesus for NowTV is all I can say. I tried NowTV for the first time for the League Cup final, streamed it through my PS4 and it was really good. Bought a week pass last week because we was on Sky for the PSG and Southampton games so got to watch both matches for £11 and also watch most of the City vs Burnley game too. I like not being tied down to a Sky subscription and having the choice of picking a choosing which games to watch... At the key stage of the season I didn't want to be messing about with dodgy streams so I've been pleasantly surprised with how well it works.
March 19, 201511 yr Barca has improved under Lucho a lot recently. They're simply not one dimensional like playing tiki-taka only, now they hit on break as well and have real speed for the counters with MSN. I think they can even play very well without the ball now, I mean if they draw Bayern. Their counter attacking play would kill Bayern off.

Yep, I bought it for the final too, I was looking forward to watching the midweek games too as it was a full Premier League fixture list. What's that? They didn't show a single game?! Yeah I only noticed that after I bought it FFS... ah well- I look now. I stream it via my PS4 too, saves on buying a box and it hasn't lagged once. For £11 this month if you bought it yesterday (like me) you get Barca v City (and get to watch Messi as his best) a couple of decent Championship games, a league one game (I think), Scummers v Man Utd, Hull v Beautiful Blues, El Classico... and that's just the football. So for a 4 week month, if you wanted it for the entire time it would cost £44.00 with NO contract, anyone know how much the Sport package on Sky/BT/Virgin costs a month? I'm sure it's less, but it's still a fantastic option for those who can't afford to be tied into a contract.
March 19, 201511 yr Hopefully that pen miss haunts Augero and he goes on to have a mare of the rest of the season.

I'm sure it's less, but it's still a fantastic option for those who can't afford to be tied into a contract. I got rid of Sky a couple of years ago, I was paying around £75 a month which including my line rental and phone but I was barely ever watching anything on TV, like I do now because I can't be bothered with sitting through adverts. That season I think we was only shown about 16 times all season, the lowest of the top 4 sides so I was barely watching Sky Sports either. I now have BT infinity which costs me £25 a month, last time I did a speed check I was getting 65mbs down which is is super fast, plus I pay my years line rental up front which saves about £50 a year. So now I can pick and chose my matches to watch if Chelsea is on which costs £7 for a day pass which is less than the cost of 2 pints in the pub and much cheaper than having a full Sky subscription. I think I sound like a salesman for NowTV....
March 19, 201511 yr I've used NowTV a few times via Chromecast and have been very impressed. I'm not all that happy about giving my money to Sky but I have to admit their online services (NowTV, broadband, etc) are first rate. If there's a GP and Chelsea match on the same day then a NowTV day pass represents great value for money for me. That said, most of the time I still prefer to watch Chelsea down the pub.
March 19, 201511 yr I'm with BT just now but depending on what they charge for the Sport channels next season I will prob switch to Virgin which has faster internet and a better overall TV package. Not bothered about skysports as I use a Skygo app from a family member. Edited March 19, 201511 yr by Chelsbear

Not bothered about skysports as I use a Skygo app from a family member. My flat doesn't allow for Virgin because their service is via cables, there's a huge dish in the roof for Sky and aerial for BT, but the whole block hasn't been prepped for cables. Infinity is not yet in my area but when it is and I get fiberoptic then zoooooooooom. What's Skygo?
March 19, 201511 yr My sister was with Sky, wasn't happy with the price she was paying so called up and had a rant. They took off around £50 off her bill and she now pays £25 per month. That's everything included, movies, skysports, etc. There's not a single channel she can't access. I can also use her Sky on my phone and computer as well so I don't have to bother getting my own. Moral of the story is if you complain enough you'll get your way.
