Dave showed me his qualities today & still not at his best position. The guy is sooo smooth, but he can be tough when he needs to be...right Mario?

I agree, his defending was world class. Cahill, Matic and Azpilicueta were great too, but Terry looked the most in control of the lot of them.

Matic, the best DM in the world.

 

He made an insane number of tackles, interceptions and nearly always started us off on an attack once he won it back, as opposed to passing it sideways or backwards.

I could have picked from a fair few, but Matic probably just edged it for me. JT and Cahill is the best central defensive partnership in the world imo.

Not yet, he had a way to go before he is in the same class as Makelele. Makelele is quite possibly the best DM ever, Matic isn't the best ever.

Terry was incredible. Faultless performance I think so I'll go for him. Matic close. 

Costa was very good. Scored a good goal, a constant threat, ran his socks off, put himself about, held up play and ran at them with conviction.

A steal at 32m.

Dave, awesome performance, great defending throughout and a fabulous run for the assist.

GLEN JOHNSON!!!!!!!!!

No dea which Glen Johnson Aldo was watching but it wasn't the one that that we saw gaff his way through the match. Was gutted when I heard he was playing. As a former pro Aldo's obviously got a better football eye/brain than us, but I honestly don't know what made him think that he was ever motm.

MOTM is... CFC. There wasn't the best player. Everyone was very good. It is difficult choice but i voted for Nemanja.

Yet more evidence that John dodeydontdeydo Aldridge should be locked up in a hospital for the criminally insane.

Also I have never gone with the view that just because a person has played football at a high level they are automatically imbued with a perception, knowledge, insight and intelligence about the game above and beyond an intelligent, passionate fan.

I have heard Mr Alridge talk about football on many, many occasions. Based on my experience of his insights I doubt he could say "intelligence", let alone spell it.

Matic for me, he was incredible in midfield today he controlled the game and broke up play superbly. At times he was doing fabregas' defensive work for him aswell who I think has gone off the boil a bit recently and needs to step up again!
