The Festive Period - The Once December of Doom

Featured Replies

Well we had a thread for November and this year's one was pretty good buy all accounts.

So now on to the festive season. I still remember back to how Ranieri's sides struggled at this time.

Will it be a merry Christmas and a happy new year to us Chelsea fans or are we set for coal in our socks equally dark looks on our faces?

Very tough away games in my opinion. Be an good run that keeps us top on Christmas and near years day. Thoughts my fellow blues?

Will be tough, I can see a few banana peels in this fixture list, mainly Sporting, Hull and West Ham at home. But we shouldn't worry as long as Fab doesn't get injured.

Steaming ahead is great, but walkovers are not always satisfying. When some good teams jostle for the top not only does it make things exciting it makes the victory all the sweeter. Keep calm and keep supporting the Blues.

It is what it is. I am glad we've qualified for Europe now so no need to stress much over that and can go to Newcastle without that in the back of our minds, as well as giving a few key players rest for the hull game. As for other games, I don't want to think that far ahead.

Just copying the fixtures: I think with the boys' recent form and the fact that we're undefeated none of these matches are too scary. However there are a few that could be a bit troubling and could lead to more draws(or unfortunate losses). I see: spurs should be a win but could be a toss up, both games will be interesting (especially Wednesday without Diego.) Newcastle has won a few games and doing well, they will be a challenge. Southampton definitely a big game depending on how they are that far down the road. None of the cup/cl games look concerning. Then again, this league can have unexpected twists. Expecting another great month for Chelsea!

This weekend may have been good for us really. Shows the guys we can't expect to roll anyone over and City are trying to get back into it. Kompany and Mangala could miss their next match though.

Away vs Newcastle. Really worried about that one, especially if we don't get a win vs Spurs (hopefully will do though)

One game at a time guys! Sure some of those games are tough but if we can get through this month relatively unscathed we're really in pole position heading into the New Year.

I feel nervous but I'm excited at the same as well. First thing's first, we must focus on beating Tottenham so panic doesn't start setting in straight away for this side and the supporters.

I expect to see second-string line-ups for the Sporting Lisbon and possibly Derby game as well. Looking forward to it!

Pretty optimistic.

Hmm City play Sunderland and Everton which could be tough, but they also have Burnley, Leicester, West Brom and Palace in December, all very winnable for them, they could well close the gap on us...!

I'm feeling quite nervous about December..!

Only potential banana skin is that game away at St. James' Park, never been the happiest of hunting grounds for us and I would honestly take a point from that game. We usually come through against Stoke and we'll crush Southampton based on their limp display against the first big-fish they came up against yesterday.

Can't even get his cliches right . Is this the berk who put up Fabregas bigger legend then Lampard post?

Yep, obvious troll is obvious.

Ban his sorry ass and encourage him to do something worthwhile with his sh*t excuse of a life.

I wonder why "John Terry" thinks Sporting Lisbon will be a banana peel/slip/split...Seeing as we can afford to lose, and still qualify top of our group !

Lets hope the likes of Schurlle, Ramires, Mikel etc step up in December. I guess one of the reasons Jose kept the same 11 week in week out is the so called fringe players haven't stepped up. With the strength of the team, the busy December should favour us.

City are clicking into gear I think! They need Yaya to be on form and then they are rocking.

Is Kompany injured?

They always put in a gear around this time of the season and we seem to take our foot of the gas (we don't seem like it at the moment) but still not good!??
