Chelsea vs PSG (Champions League Second Leg) 11/03/2015

Featured Replies

If Jose go, Man U would jump and try to get him while we would end up with some bull sh*t manager. Jose and Pep Guariola are 2 best in the business.

I'm probably the only one, but i'm just not sure if Mourinho is the manager we need/want at Chelsea. We have such a talented and technical squad to work with, but they are all being abused to fit into Mourinho's ultra defensive playing style. Or do you think players like Fabregas or Hazard enjoy playing like they had to play last night?

I'd rather have a manager that actually let's us play attractive football, even against the bigger teams. Mourinho keeps on using his ultra defensive tactics against the big teams and it has failed him time and time again this season. He either opens his eyes and let's us play more attacking football or he can leave in my opinion. I want to enjoy watching our games.

watched the game until ET when I was in my car driving home from work, so feel somewhat qualified to comment

no fan likes to see their team play trousers in any game, especially in a last 16 CL  2nd leg at home

but this is football, no team has the guaranteed right to win any match

a lot of 'fans' on here IMO are either new (since 90s) or are very, very spoiled, and also obviously live perfect lives

with perfect families and perfect jobs where nothing or nobody is ever in a f**ked up situation - as when our beloved team

f**k up very occasionally like they did yesterday lots of posters want to slate/ fire nearly very player and a global top 5 manager.

What f'ing planet are a lot of you lot living on ?

It was never going to be easy replacing an in form/ mid 20s late 20s  SFL or DD, who single handedly won a lot

of the trophies over the last decade between them, we have Jose back  and lets give it all time,

p.s. we did win a trohpy just under 2 weeks ago and we are favourites for the prem - so CHIN UP and KTBFFH

p

Not sure what revenue time spent supporting the club, I started in the 90's because that's when I was born, I couldn't care less if someone started supporting us last week, if they're behind the team. My best mate used to be a villa fan (very slight) but spending time with me and watching the football together he's now always rooting for Chelsea and will be buying the strip next year and contributing to the club. The case could be argued that he's more of a fan than someone who supported the club for 40 years, and has never contributed a thing to the club.

Just because people were around when we were sh*t, doesn't make them uber fans.

This isn't one f**k up though really is it? Someone a page or so back listed all the times we've thrown away leads in big games, there was about 5 or 6 I believe, that's simply not good enough with the money and quality we have, also the performances for a while (since Christmas imo) have been below par.

Completely agree regarding Jose, I still think he's the right man for the job, as for the players, as BD says, there's a few who have been sub par for too long now (Oscar, Rami & Willian)

That's my opinion on it anyway.

Sorry but I'm not buying that, these are PROFESSIONAL athletes, no excuses for it. I don't believer there's a single player in our squad that's plsyed every game this year?

So are the opposition. If you listen to any professional athlete they will tell you to discard the little things that give you an edge at your peril.

PSG were playing by far their most exciting match of the season. Our most exciting match of the season is every bloody week in the Premier League, and it's mentally and physically exhausting.

[quote name="Michael440" post="978142" timestamp=. Man U would give him job in a split second.

keep up chappie,no they wouldn't.the premier league Is going to hell in a hand cart.it is the most expensive league in the world - without any creativity.look up ken Robinson on google - and listen to his views.by all intents and purposes he is talking about education, but could be talking about football

Chelsea is playing more attacking football this season. Match with PSG was a complete fiasco but let's not focus only in negatives.

Quality players are not everything, you need that mastermind tactician behind every game and I believe Jose is one of the best in the business. I don't think it's fair to be upset with Jose just because Chelsea lost that game with PSG. Last season we beat them and you can't win all the games. I think entire team was tired. Now Chelsea will play one match a week and fan focus only on EPL.

Btw. Man U have pretty decent team but look at them with van Gaal or last season with David Moyst.

Gut-wrenching loss to be honest but possibly a blessing in disguise as well. It's clear that this team isn't invincible and is still prone to poor performances. We're a better side than PSG squad-wise but commitment and desire went a long way to help PSG in this game. We just didn't demonstrate it in this match for some reason.

I don't want to overanalyse it too much as I'd prefer to move on from this debacle but there's definitely areas in our team that need addressing tactically speaking. Pressure is on now to deliver the title in May but at least winning the League Cup (albeit a small competition) is a good start in building a new revolution under Jose's era.

A lot has been made about David Luiz but honestly I've moved on from him. I appreciate what he brought to Chelsea and he seems like a good guy but he's also very passionate as well hence he's rubbed some people up the wrong way in recent days.

or why switch the positions of Oscar and Fabregas. I remember Oscar playing DM position under  Di Matteo? Or play Cuadrado along side Matic as he has played in that position in past.

Would love to buy Verratti and play him alongside Matic in midfield, play Fabregas where Oscar plays because Oscar is, quite frankly, f**king sh*t.

Pogba would be great addition.

We had one - a REALLY f**king good one at that. Mata should never have been sold. Jose let Mata go because he wasn't quick enough, couldn't tackle and wouldn't track back often enough. He then signs Fabregas, someone who has all of the same flaws. Doesn't make sense to me.

We should sell Ramires and either Oscar or Willian, and try to sign Pogba. Play Matic and Pogba centre mid, then push Cesc into the number 10 slot IMO.

He was good until we had Mata once we sold Mata he is kind of went into guaranteed place in the team mode.

Good post.

Sadly Oscar is proving me right, he is simply not doing enough for the side, we need him at these crucial moments and he is still yet to put in a good performance since the Swansea game in early January. That's just not good enough, he did the same last season when we desperately needed him. He doesn't have as much impact as he should have.

Going to sleep last night was really hard honestly, I just felt really bad about the game, shocked more than anything, didn't expect that from us. It's hard to get over a performance what is that embarrassing really.

04-05  was different team built on power and defensive skills...this is totally different team with full of flair players. Problem is Jose want this team to play in the same mould of 04-05 where as this team should be playing like Barcas, Munich and Madrids.

Not enough men in the Chelsea team! Compare the team back in 04 and 05, full of proper battle hardened men, not boys

And we thought our refs were bad...

P.S if one of our players said this, they would get a 3 match ban no doubt.

Yeah bad decision, but his reaction....oh come on.

And he had the brass balls to call Chelsea babies after he was sent off. 'This country does not deserve PSG'...just LOL.

He's an over rated show off. Laughable to think he is considered to be in the 2nd tier after Messi and Ronaldo, he's not fit to scrub Hazards boots....

Can't help thinking of the late Brian Clough (JM's role model?), who was in the habit of taking his Notts Forest side on holiday before a European match. Our lot are looking decidedly over-trained, rather like the England WC side under Capello. Knackered before they kick a ball

I watched this in a bar full of French types, me and the old man were the only Chelsea supporters, a most unpleasant experience. But at the end as they jumped and cavorted all around us, we were very British about it and shook their hands and wished them luck.

We then slunk away and left them to it. The way we played on the night it would have been a bit of a travesty if we'd got through, still gutted though.

And Veratti is a vile excuse for a human being.

Ibrahimovic is a massive arsehole and they will be a better team without him in the long run.

Said he was overrated for a while and has only ever spent one season in a top league. That said he'd be a great back-up for Costa if he fancies playing in a decent league next season.

Largely agree, but I wouldn't want him anywhere near our dressing room. He is not a team player, he doesn't work hard enough and does absolutely nothing off the ball.

I rate him marginally more than Balotelli.

But then that's like saying I prefer the smell of cat sh*t to dog sh*t....

Ive lived in sweden for the past 20 odd yrs and have followed his career from the very begining he was then and still is the most overated asshole to ever put on a pair of football boots!!

Made a right dick of himself labelling our players babies, then days later having a temper tantrum. Obnoxious prick.
