Droogba
In times past football featured in tv drama quite a bit and was far better than our reality obsession now. Another Sunday and Sweet FA (70s Rosenthal) Ken Loach's Golden Vision A really old film that I can't remember about Arsenal. Gregory's Girl , football ish

Boyne
From the BFI website. A few have already been mentioned. http://www.bfi.org.uk/news-opinion/news-bfi/lists/10-great-football-films There was a film with Ally McCoist and Robert Duvall in it but I can't remember the title. Other than the films already mentioned, from that list I really liked Shaolin Soccer and Looking for Eric, although neither of them are really about football in the sporting sense. The Damned United is probably the best 'proper' football film.

Droogba
I have the 66 wining game on DVD, of course. Not a film, but a great watch. How could I forget. 'Marvellous' On BBC last year, Toby Jones, great actor, football related and makes you feel good about some people in the game (true story) . Boyne
Not a film but an episode of Ripping Yarns where Michael Palin plays a fan whose team, Barnstoneworth United is down on its luck and is to be disbanded, He gets together the old players for one last match. Absolutely brilliant. The episode is called Golden Gordon.

Beerqueen
Agree with the Damned United. Marvellous was probably the best thing I saw on TV last year - ended up watching it three times: once with my son, just because it was on. Then I watched it again with hubby cos he'd been out and I told him he'd love it. And then once with eldest son when he was back at Christmas as he hadn't seen it. I also liked the Shouting Men - about some football fans, including one absolute nutter in a wheelchair, going up to Newcastle for a match. I don't think it's particularly well-known but I thought it was very funny. My son got Goal for his birthday years back and, although probably very corny (I haven't watched it since) we all enjoyed watching it at the time with cameo performances from Shearer, Beckham and others.
