Eva Carneiro

In my opinion there are two different aspects to this. Bollocking staff in public, I'm guessing going by the public outcry that Jose is the only manager ever to have done this. Fair enough keep it in house, however as I've said before, he was asked about the refs decision, straight after the game and swerved that one. So the sky-bot asks "why were you so angry ? Watching at home I thought Mourinho was furious at the ref, maybe the sky bloke thought the same.

Disappointingly Jose never took the ref bait, so now the story is about the medics.

We all know what happened next and now the media have another ism to beat us with. Leaving aside who any of us think is right or wrong, does anyone REALLY think that Mourinho singled out one person solely due to her gender ?

I personally don't think that gender is a factor in this.

Anyway the other aspect, it's so lovely of the press to stand up in support of Carneiro, but it rather begs the question why haven't rival fans been getting the, Paris Metro treatment, over the sexist abuse towards her thats been going on for so long ?

Still it's all been a nice distraction from Arsenals mare of a start and the behaviour of theirs and West Hams fans last Sunday, after the game.

Typical Chelsea unfortunately, we're like a soap opera there's always a drama just about to happen.

Does anyone else think "only at Chelsea" ? you can see why other clubs fans think & call us classless, not that that bothers me, f@ck em, but sadly the club & Jose especially dont help themselves at times.

WBA away next weekend, what odds on Jose facing the same fate as AVB & RDM after playing at the Hawthorns?

Hopefully this will all blow over but being Chelsea FC no doubt there's more to come, sadly.

Firstly love that video dan, never seen it before, so this thread is worth something.

And secondly, why always Chelsea, stick with De gea refusing to play, Bilic new found love of Kasabian, leo messi again, but please give us a break you bar stewards of british media+ jose think before you speak... Sometimes!!

So then would you say we should fire this medical team because of the hundreds of indentical situations where they did not go on the pitch?  Clearly a lot of it is guess work but lets keep this in perspective.  We are not talking about a medic responding to a 999/911 call.  These are sports doctors who, at this level, should be able to tell the difference between a serious injury and a tired player, even if 30-50 yards away.

If they have to heed the ref, why did they ignore his first signal?

I don't think they ignored his first signal, they may have responded right away, or his signals were spread apart in a matter of a few seconds. Who cares? The fact is, they did what they were supposed to do, which is their job.

I don't know where you get the idea that there were hundreds of identical cases, where this medical staff or any other refused to attend to a player on the pitch when signaled by the referee. I've never seen or heard of such situations, but I'd be interested, if there were actual precedents.

Presser in 20 mins or so

It's quite sad that many people including myself will be looking forward to this press conference more than the game on the weekend.

I don't expect an apology from Jose, I expect him to be miserable and angry followed by a performance on Sunday that will stink the place out to get a point. Jose's biggest mistake in this whole matter was venting his anger after the game, if he kept his mouth shut this would never of got so public.

It's hard not to read the papers and media around this story it's everywhere, I hate the fact that this has revolved around Eva and not Eva and Jon. Gender should not be brought into this, Jose shouted at his staff not a female, sure Jose was in the wrong but doesn't make him more in the wrong because his doctor was female. It's painting Jose to be sexist when he's clearly not, he's just a perfectionist who crossed the line and I am sure he knows that.

mmmm...looking forward to the presser more than the game...took a poll too did you? I mean really.

By the way having just watched it he didn't strike me as remotely miserable or angry....so I guess you must be disappointed.

He said that he makes mistakes in the presser - he is human after-all.

Now that the pantomime has run its course perhaps we can all get back to the football.

Agree ...........but if Eva is not on the bench for city she better start against West Brom after the rest or they can have my season ticket back... we need her pace in the middle of the park

Personally I feel like she brings an improved shape to the team.

Hell's teeth, Jose presser is on lunchtime news. Give me strength. (Eva is too short in the leg imho.)

I am prepared to test it to prove it really does not matter!! Anyway sing-a-song for Eva on Sunday????

It's above the Labour leadership election on BBC News front page - how ridiculous.

So there we have it, the only real issue has only ever been about Eva and John’s rushing onto the field of play to treat Edin, much to the annoyance of the boss at the time - yet, because it is [specifically] him and [crucially] her, it became a mistake of biblical proportions by Jose, brought about by the wrath of a God-like British Media. Everyone knows that if Eva had been male there would have been none of this fuss whatsoever, no social media outrage, no reply on Facebook thanking the masses for their support, and life would have carried on pretty much as normal with just a paragraph or two in the press about how Jose had criticised medical staff for running on to the pitch in a vain attempt to [typically] deflect criticism over the loss of a couple of points.

Then instead, being that it’s Chelsea and fuelled by universal dislike of us, we get a situation where Jose is criticised for berating a female employee in public, leaving the club with little option but to remove her from the bench, for the simple reason that at every match day the Press would have been watching the two of them like hawks before a swoop on their prey - make no mistake, it is they who have cost them this short-term demotion. In short, this has escalated from a molehill row into a mountainous media-fest, but in reality it is what it is: an internal staff issue, best resolved by the parties involved.

.

I have never given less of a f**k about a situation in my entire life.

The Mail online are somehow managing to produce about 4 stories a day on the topic and all sorts of people/organisations have weighed in with their (pretend) outrage.

I hear Jason Roberts is appalled.

But seriously..... if Eva was a middle aged bald man nobody would give a sh*t.... just like all the outraged people have forgotten to give a sh*t about Jon Fearn (who?).

mmmm...looking forward to the presser more than the game...took a poll too did you? I mean really.

Well I was interested in what he said, I guess most people were. It's overshadowed the game, a lot of posts on here refer to fearing that this could affect the game on sunday. I am not disappointed, why would I be? It was just my assumption, which I imagine I am not the only one who assumed this.

We all wanted to know his thoughts on the situation, cause it's been blown out of proportion. I am happy with the way he went about it.

No need to get all touchy about it.
