Next league game for the boys in blue.

Important to try and avoid dropping any points in the league for the next few games having played a game less than City, we don't want to give them any hint being able to catch us.

Team selection will depend on how we get on tonight.

I would expect to see some rotation. Maybe 1 centre half, attacking midfielder and maybe striker. Depends who gets the nod tonight.

Keeping up the points gap on city while we still have that game in hand just piles on the pressure to them.

So...onwards and upwards..! Dare I say it, a case for rotating Costa? Seems to be more interested in winding up opponents(even more than usual) much else at the moment.

I don't see Jose dropping him tbh especially as our other options arent great. Remy is a fantastic player but doesn't suit the style we play and Drogba looks an old player unfortunately.

Sounds to me like Jose said our players could not handle the pressure tonight, and that is why PSG knocked us out.

So if they cannot handle the pressure of a last 16 CL game, how are they going to deal with the pressure of the title race? How did winning the League cup not boost our confidence?

One thing is certain to me, tonight's game is the turning point of the title race. Either we respond to it in a positive way, get back to something like our best and really push on. Or we do not.

Well this should hopefully be my 4th full match I can catch this season. So far I have the 5-3 loss at Spurs, the CoC final against Spurs and tonight game against PSG. So seen us lose, win and draw (while also being knocked out), lol.

Saints are a good side, should hopefully make for a good game.

I would like to see us line up with the following team:

Courtios

Azpi

Zouma

Terry

Luis

Cesc

Matic

Cuadrado

Hazard

Willian

Costa

Have to admit being in two minds as to who I would rather see up top. I love Costa's passion and energy, but also think Remy deserves some game time.

Also I know the only chance Brana does not play is if he is injured.

So, now we don't have CL as well. Time to run for the tittle in the league, and the running has to start from this game. We can't lose this match, we've to return and show our original football.

I'd like to see:

Courtois

Ivanovic (If he's injuried then Azpi on Right)

Zouma

Terry

Azpi (If he will be on Right, then Luis on Left)

Matic

Fabregas

Cuadrado

Willian

Hazard

Costa

I want to see the team play 21th century football. Nothing less, nothing more. I don't want to see 2-0 victory. :laugh2:  Apparently, we are the champions. I want to see football, i repeat. It's simple.

We've stumbled along since Swansea away ... if this current form continues and I fear it will points will be dropped ... 1-1 home draw for me. Hope I'm wrong.

We need a win, but I think we need a good performance even more.

We've been average at best for way too long. Staggering we are still so far clear at the top of the league.

CL has gone for another year, lets not waste this season by blowing the league.

I'd love a good, dominating performance where we press from the front and don't give Southampton a chance to impose their game which too many teams have done since Swansea. If we get a goal, don't stop doing what got you in that position and don't just sit back and let them come at you because that hasn't worked too well. Have confidence in your own team's ability to dictate the game rather than worrying about what Southampton will do and don't spend time talking about agendas or conspiracies.

We've become too focussed on gaming the ref or finding things to moan about, something we weren't doing at the start of the season when we were playing our best football. Focus on those 90 minutes on the pitch, not what you're going to say on camera afterwards.

11 games left, start again on Sunday.

Really tough fixture given how poorly we played last night.

We can’t let the heads go down because if we do and go through the motions then Southampton could and probably would tear us apart because there passing and movement are usually up there with anyone else in this league.

We can’t be powder puff in the middle and allow them to dictate the pace of the game while allowing them to come at us, it would be a horrible tactic to play against this lot.

-----------Courtois----------

Ivan-----Zouma----Terry----Luis

---------Cesc----Matic------

Cuardrado------Oscar-------Hazard

--------------Remy-------

I’d go with Luis because he’s been harshly done by losing his place despite being in good form, plus Azpi looked quite poor going forward against PSG and didn’t do Hazard any favours in that respect.

Hard one for the middle of the attacking midfield, Oscar was so poor last night I just don’t think his game will be increased enough to make an impact however we can’t lose the midfield battle so he get’s in because he knows the role more and can drop deep to help out Matic and Cesc plus I don’t think Willian and Cuardrado in the same 11 can work.

Cuardrado in place of Willian purely because he’s not offering enough and we don’t know what this lad can do or can’t do, hopefully he will take on players more than Willian and get some balls into the box rather than pissing about with back passes.

Remy for Costa because Diego looks knackered and his form has been pretty poor for a number of weeks now, the pace of Remy can cause Southampton problems and he will be full of energy and effort given his lack of games. He deserves a chance as Costa is failing thus far.

Stick Cuadrado in.

The whole attack looked impotent last night, let us fans see why we paid out £30m for this guy.

Whole squad owes us fans a massive performance after last night.

I don't expect Mourinho to make many changes but I think it wouldn't hurt after such a woeful showing.

I would like to see something like:

Courtois

Dave - Zouma - Terry - Luis

Fabregas - Matic

Cuadrado - Oscar - Hazard

Costa

Get some width and overlap from both fullback positions.

Get the wingers running at and taking on their man.

Move the ball forward quicker. I want to see less 5 yard, square passes on the edge of the area.... I want to see Costa and the attacking midfieders making more runs in behind the defense rather than standing static on the edge of the area wanting the ball to feet all the time.

F*** it, lets go all out attack with pace and send the lads out there with a free reign!! Give Remy a shot Costa needs a breather.

GK - Thibaut Courtois

CB - Branislav Ivanovic

CB - John Terry ©

CB - Kurt Zouma

CDM - Namanja Matic

CM - Oscar

CM - Cesc Fabregas

CAM - Willian

LW - Eded Hazard

RW - Juan Cuadrado

ST - Loic Remy

3-4-3 Diamond Formation, play some tika taka at speed. Stack the midfield and Boss a game for once.

Theoretically we could try a counter-attack based lineup while resting a few players. We have an away game against Hull six days after this, then a two-week break before we play Stoke, which is obviously going to be a tough, physical battle. After that we have QPR away and Man Utd at home before two away games in four days against Arsenal and Leicester. At some point we need to rest people, and a home game against a Southampton side who have massively struggled for goals recently seems like a fair opportunity. This lineup allows for a balanced midfield and a pacey attack suited to playing on the break, which also has three players who are good at scoring, while retaining Fabregas to thread balls over the midfield, with Aké and Ramires to cover him. This allows us to rest Azpilicueta, Oscar, Matic, Willian and Hazard, all of whom have not played anything close to their usual abilities in recent games and could surely do with the rest before entering physical contests against Hull, Stoke and QPR.

Couldn't agree more ForeverCarfree, need a change quickly.

Cuadrado is a breath of fresh air at least, something different, that's what we need something different.

I pray to god Ramires is not in the starting line up, had enough of him slowing the play down.
