March 22, 201511 yr Put him in liverpool, spurs or arsenal squad and bamford will score goals for fun. He is on another level to Kane and people will realise once he gets his chance. If he doesn't get his chance with Chelsea, one of the other top 6 sides will snap him up for sure and it will be another sturridge situation (minus the injuries of course). No belief from the manager = no belief from the fans, what a shame. You can never know for sure, bit if arrogance to say so. I really can't agree with you right now, you just sound like someone whose bitter against Spurs, Kane is a class act simple as, best striker in the Prem at the moment. Bamfords tearing it up in the Championship but that ain't the EPL.
March 22, 201511 yr All those players are average, though. And Bamford may turn out to be average too. All we can really say at this stage is that he is doing everything asked of him in an average league. Playing in the Premier League is a whole lot different than playing in the Championship. Look a David Nugent, he scored plenty of goals in the Championship, he stuggles badly in the Premier League though.
March 22, 201511 yr As much as I dislike Spurs, Kane looks like he has the lot. I doubt he's going to be a one season wonder.
March 22, 201511 yr As much as I dislike Spurs, Kane looks like he has the lot. I doubt he's going to be a one season wonder.Agreed, I've noticed little things about him aswell that show he has a good head on his shoulders:- In the Cup final Fabregas out a poor tackle in and clipped Kane but akane didn't go down instead he carried on running. - In the Spurs vs Leicester match Benatleb and Ulloa were at each others throats, Kane broke them up and basically told them to leave it be. Add to that he's a beast infront of goal who scores all kinds of goals, etc and that's exactly why I think he won't be a one season wonder. He's also very refreshing, a talented young lad who has a good head on his shoulders (compare that to Raheem "I'm too tired to play this week boss" Sterling), it's a rarity these days. April 3, 201511 yr The kid does have a strikers touch and luck. Nice deflected goal against Wigan just now.
April 3, 201511 yr If we don't play Pat next season then we might as well close our academy and convert it into parking space.
April 3, 201511 yr Wonder if he has took the gloves off for the 2nd half ? seems to be his ritual. "That's it. THE GLOVES ARE OFF." Imagine that intimidates a few people.
April 3, 201511 yr Look at Kane. He was given a chance and grabbed it with both hands. Bamford could be the same, I'd rather him than giving Drogba another season of warming the bench. Also beefs up our quota with the homegrown players. Win win. Do it Jose!
April 3, 201511 yr Bamford has scored 15 goals in the Championship, lets not get carried away here. Would love to see him make an impact here, buts still a long way to go for him. Could do with a loan in the premiership next season
April 3, 201511 yr Drogba out Bamford In - seems simple, but this is Chelsea FC You want to see Bamford on the bench for most of next season then?. A premier league loan looks most likely for his development.

Could do with a loan in the premiership next season I'm sorry to pick on you for this one, nothing personal, but I'm sick of hearing people telling us not to get carried away when we enthuse about a few of the younger players, especially the English ones. I'm sure you will come back with the same old "look at our track record with youngsters" excuse, but that should never stop us from getting excited about a youngster, I'm always doing it, have been for nearly 40 years. I also do the lottery each week, hope is a wonderful thing, makes life worth living.
April 3, 201511 yr In some ways our club is it's own worst enemy, as having pressure to win a big trophy every year (or every other year) makes it difficult to bring through these players. The potential some of our english players have is great, but it's having the chance for them to show it. I have no doubts at all that bamford will make a good impact in the prem, whether it be with us next season or on loan to a prem club.

I just think saying someone like Bamford who has had a decent season in the Championship is better then the Premier leagues young player of the season and current top scorer is pretty silly. If this was coming from say Liverpool fans, we would all be pissing ourself laughing.

Totally understandable, no way do I want to come over like one of them, but I was only comparing their records in the Championship, which on paper gives us some hope that Bamford will also make the step up if given the chance, even if it is a big step.

Could do with a loan in the premiership next season in his 3 non-pl seasons combined (2 in the championship + 1 in league one), harry kane doesnt have 15 goals Edited April 3, 201511 yr by launcher
April 3, 201511 yr I understand the PL is a big step up from the Championship and that our track record with younger players is quite poor, but Bamford is scoring some great goals and actually winning games for Boro in a title race. He's also spent half the season out on the wing despite being a striker - and is still Boro's top scorer. Pretty good if you ask me! I think him remaining at Boro in the PL next season would be best for his development but it's clear we should be hanging onto him and giving him a chance at some point very soon, otherwise we never will.

Yeah I dont disagree with that at all, hes certainly shown a lot of promise this year
