Jose made a point of it in one of his press conferences...something about if it was a chelsea player, there would be whole week of chelsea crimes

I have a theory about our press coverage that they really wanted to see Jose fail - that hasn't happened and so the spotlight will turn on someone else soon, Brendan Rodgers or Pellegrini probably.

If we do complete the job and win the league, what can reasonably be said about Mourinho? The man is a winner. Next season he'll probably be feted in the press as the greatest manager of the current era.

While we'll get caught up in the "defending our title" stuff, I expect Abramovic and Mourinho to make the CL our next priority

Yet his brothers brilliant, it's very strange.

That penalty thing is the worst thing he's ever said though, even worse than when the ball hit Cahill's shoulder against Liverpool. He admitted it was his shoulder but said because he looked guilty it was a pen, ugh! Infact maybe that is still the worst thing he's said. Either way both were farcical.

The way he was talking about the penalty was weird. It was like he was desperately trying to find an excuse for the penalty to be given even though he knew that Herrera cheated and it wasn't a penalty. He shouldn't be a football pundit, he can't hide his bias.

The BBC really need to start getting better pundits. They have the odd few that turn out to be good but the majority are awful.

Anywhere I can see/hear what he said?

Is MOTD on iPlayer? Edit - just realised you're in Holland not sure you can even get BBCiPlayer in Holland

I can't remember exactly what he said but he basically over and over again said he doesn't know how the referee didn't give the pen in real time. He even questions arobbie Savage who said it was a definite dive even noticeable in real time.

Even Redknapp does a better job of hiding his bias and that really is saying something.

Apart from that wretched ad that makes me want to punch the tv, whiney Redkrapp face and voice saying, 'It's Chelsea's to lose'. Hate it.

Yeah he looks like he's been forced to say something, like a kid at school in front of his class mates

Or someone's squeezing his teeny weeny testes off camera.

I was throwing the beers down at a daft rate yesterday, but from what I remember of the match I don't really have any complaints about the loss. United were probably the better team in my opinion, but Chelsea were fairly comfortable and stuck to the gamepaln well. I was surprised at the possession stats I saw, apparently we had 71% of it, but unlike recent weeks we mustn't have done all that much with it because I can't remember thinking Chelsea were under any real sustained pressure throughout the match.

So yeah, no complaints or excuses. Injuries definitely made sure it would be an hard day for us, but that's not an excuse because when all is said and done I think Chelsea are the best team in the league for the time being, and of course the league table backs that up.

Anyway, well played to chelsea and please make sure to do the same against Liverpool when you play them.!

Great post and thanks. Yes, Liverpool are going to get a pasting, I feel it.

I did see another stat about the possession, and although Man U dominated overall possession, a large part of it was mainly in their own half, whereas our possession was lower, we had more of it in their half.

Again you can spin stats to show whatever you want, but at the end of the day we got the 3 points are are one step closer to another premiership.  Can't wait!

Also, think Man Utd are starting to look like a better team as the season goes on and LVG gets to grips with his team more.  I think they'll be a very tough nut to crack next year, but they have to look to send Falcao back to Monaco, surely?  Just glad we never went for him.

Thanks - nice one!

Tbh after watching the match I was surprised at the stat's.  From what I saw it didn't seem to be that much of a gulf.  Maybe it was because I was on the edge of my seat willing time to fly by after we scored.  You know how it is!  *loody nerve-wracking watching your team whoever you support!

Phil Neville has a short memory. 1999 instructed to man mark Franco as well as having Butt as a defensive midfielder. Funny thing is they gave up after going 2-0 down!! Eventually lost 5-0!!

The difference is Jose had a plan and it worked. There are no pictures on a positional table, we may have been defensive a handful of times this season, but it's not going to stop me enjoying the season.

Fair play to the utd fans on here, conducted themselves really well and contributed. Makes for a pleasant change.

Hilarious how utd fans are giving it large after a few good results in last month and yesterday's defeat that they will win title next season...reminds me of Liverpool last year...top four, no trophies is pretty lame return on £150m in signings and having advantage of playing fewest amount of games of any sides at the top...how short their memories are of the many lucky and crap displays for a good six months...even then it took injuries and suspensions for van Gaal to stumble across a winning side, not some grand master plan as has been made out.

Yes they will strengthen in the summer, but so will we and they will have even more pressure, and games to play, on them next season...their bitching is worthy of those from Anfield...in Jose we trust

Not long before Roman gets bored with the bus parking and does another "mutual consenting"......but seriously as a neutral, no one will really give a sh*t cos its been 5 years without the EPL...question then is what next? At some point the fans and even the players will demand a minimum level of style......what happens then? As fans we all want to win trophies (long term goal) but in the short term we want to watch our team play excellent stuff every week as well...

When he won his first two titles, the media line was he didn't really win them. Roman bought them for him by outspending everyone.

This time around, we haven't outspent everyone. Man U, City and Liverpool have all outspent Jose since he came back.

If we win the league (I've been a Chelsea fan for too long to take anything for granted), the media might have to dish out some very grudging praise, but it'll be hard to find amongst the bitterness.

It helps that you lot on here seem to be a decent bunch. Much more of a plesant read here than the usual sh*te you see on a lot of fan forums.

What a crock of sh*t, you adapt styles for different opponents and that's how we win trophies. We have absolutely blitzed certain teams this season and now we're getting over the line. As long as we win trophies Mourinho will not be let go. We want to win its as simple as that.

bet you were moaning about utd's style when you won it in 2013, one of the worst sides to ever lift the title, carried by van persie for most of the season...no, thought not...surprised a utd fan would take such a morale high ground when your club has been all about winning being most important thing...to do it with style is ideal, but not the be all and end all...i.e did you get upset about way you played in cl final against bayern when they dicked on you...no, cos you bloody won it

first half of the season we were playing best football in league by a mile...even bias pundits like keown were saying we were best team in pl history (don't worry, we didn't take him seriously), but you have just proved my point about gobby utd fans getting carried away by a couple of good performances...not long ago you were all bitching about van gaal on a weekly basis, when until recently he had same record as Moyes, despite getting sh*t load more to spend...

i like this, i think the press might of been trying to push for a spain style fall out but jose has learnt lessons, i.e shunning sky etc

How many is that, 3 or 4 decent United fans visiting this thread and being classy after the defeat?

Got to be a record for visiting fans, credit to them they are a credit to their club. Lets see if they stay as gracious when United beat us or if they do what that PSG fan did.
