Club Allegiancxe Aside...Best Prem Goalscorer: Costa, Aguero, Sanchez, Rooney or Kane?

Leeds fan (in peace)

Congrats on title - dominant from the start, efficient and determined at the end.

Anyway I'm posting re the Q in the title. Putting aside club allegiance who is best forward in the Prem? As a neutral in the debate I'd go Aguero, very closely followed by Costa, then Sanchez.

What's different about my poll is that rather than just choose you fav, you rate the players on factors like number & quality of goals; assists; drive/passion etc and get a "result" from that. Click here if you want to take part

FYI my site is new and far from perfect (esp on phone and tablet which need to work much better) but if you like the concept please register and/or email with suggested improvements or questions.

PS "Boring Chelsea" (2015) = "Nasty Leeds" (Revie era) = Jealous opposition fans who wish their team was like yours. In fact, as I'm sure you've discussed, CFC have been far from boring this season. 1st half season no team played better football. Post Xmas more of a grind but Bradford game was (for neutrals more than you of course) one of the games of the season.

PPS Thanks for taking part and one final thought...... do you guys still hate Leeds or have we become a sad irrelevance after a decade out of the Prem?

Thanks for the kind words  . Aguero for me is both the best and most talented striker in the league. Sanchez could be considered a forward but not a striker since he doesn't play as one for Arsenal. He's more of an inside forward than an out and out striker. Diego is immense. He's probably the most efficient striker in the league, in terms of shot conversion % and shots/goals ratio but he doesn't have the all round quality of Aguero, I have to admit. We'll see more from Costa next season, hopefully when he is relatively injury free. Rooney is past his best and very much behind all those names you mentioned except Kane. Which brings us to Harry Kane. I still want to see more of him before forming a cogent view. Now that teams are giving him the Eden Hazard treatment, i.e double teaming on him, he looks pretty average. Let's see what he does next season.

Sanchez is more a winger so i'm going to ignore him.

Aguero is the best striker in the league in my opinion. Even when he has picked up a few injuries he is still going to finish as the top goalscorer. He has it all, tap ins, long range finishes, dribbling, first touch, close control, stength, movemtent. He's a great player.

I admire Costa's work rate, passion and agression and he is a fantastic finisher, but I would have to say that Agüero is the best striker in the league, and though I'm not a City fan by any stretch of the imagination, his goal against QPR is an iconic moment and I do enjoy watching it occasionally. On your last question, I hated Leeds a lot more as a kid, in the nineties, when they were still in the Premier League, I'll never forget that Gudjohnsen bicycle kick.

Costa is the best, Leeds are a sh*t team and stop leeching off Chelsea fans to generate clicks for your sh*t website.

Really? No need for that, he's come on here and said some kind things and genuinely seems to want our opinion on what I think is a good question.

Thanks god you don't represent all of us.

Difficult question.

In his first season Aguero had 23 goals in 34 league games.

Costa has 19 in 23.

Need another season to judge Costa and Kane. At the moment though it's probably Aguero but different teams have different requirements.

It still Costa's first season in PL. Aguero is fully experienced striker in this league, he knows the right time, right place. He's great finisher and player but in the next season Costa has to make it and be the best PL striker, we all know that he can do it, all he need is to lower his aggression and get a little bit stronger to avoid injuries. Untill now Aguero is the best striker, but not for a long time.

That's a very interesting stat didn't know that.

Tbh I think this could go along with the Henry vs Shearer argument, Shearer talent wise didn't have the skill or flair of Henry but that doesn't meant Henry was better Shearer scored a shedload more goals. The comparison could work for Costa and Aguero.

Bear in mind that Costa struggled after the winter schedule which is when you'd expect players new to this league to have issues.

You're comparing a seasoned Aguero with an as-yet unacclimatised Costa.

I'm comparing Costa based on his past 3 seasons, Aguero is the better footballer and has far more in his locker than Costa.

That's no disgrace though since Aguero is one of the best strikers in Europe.

Costa suits the way we play and scores plenty so I'm not too bothered.

I don't think it's fair to mention Kane and Costa in terms of just the EPL though since it's their first season in while Rooney and Aguero have had a few of them already.

Thanks for those that looked at the question/site.  I find it interesting (and if I'm honest surprising) that Aguero seems to be the consensus here too.

Hope Sydney Chelsea recovers from the trauma of clicking on a site he obviously didn't like.  Don't have nightmares about it  Anyway it looks like links are not allowed and its been taken down so no need for him panic about it happening again!  Pity as I was hoping to do some other similar Qs (best manager/Prem winner next year etc) in same style and see what you thought.

Anyway big thanks for the rest of you for at least hearing out and having patience with a Dirty Leeds fan.

You're welcome and ignore him, he was out of order.

This was fun, you should do more, would be good just for the discussion.

As of now i will say Aguero. I love Costa and cannot wait to see him next season, hopefully, injury free.

Still wish we had got our hands on Rooney last year. I could see us with the league at the very least had we snatched him.

Sorry Sydney but that's a RAWK style response to an outsider.

For me it's definitely Aguero, he's a class above the rest in the sense he can make chances out of nothing for himself, followed by Costa. Personally I feel Rooney is overrated.

Not sure why you have posted that here, this is for Premier League strikers.

It's spam. The same thing's been posted on some other threads as well.
