Milner accepted a contract that was 40k a week less than the one City were offering to move to Liverpool because he wanted first tram football.

Fair enough, at the time it was said he was on more but haven't looked it up recently.

You are only 5 points behind 4th place aren't you? I am sure that I read that somewhere.

7 points off 4th. Eminently get-able but only if we sort ourselves out, and soon. Until we play you at Old Trafford at the end of December we have a decent run of fixtures and need to be back in form to maximise the amount of points we get from the easier games, otherwise we have no chance for 4th.

You will be fine.

Would be hilarious but I fear it will be United if it DOES happen. I am still not 100% convinced by Van Gaal.

+1 on this. He really gives me the impression that he doesn't know what he's doing. The cheque book's having more effect on improving results than he is, IMHO

West Ham's Olympic Stadium deal continues to be complete bullsh*t.

More details have emerges about their 99 year lease, not only do they not pay for corner flags and goal posts they also don't pay for cleaning services, turnstile staff, usage of the big screen TV's, under soil heating.

It's a complete piss take for tax payers and other Premier League clubs.

The report detailing the agreement has redacted half of the information and they've appealed a request for it to all be made public under the freedom of information act.

Absolute piss take on other Premier League clubs, as long as FPP is in place.

What's Man City's deal with Manchester Council likebin comparison?

This is a load of nonsense sorry. Liverpool can't match Chelsea, City, United or even Arsenal when it comes to wages. This isn't something I have made up, it's a fact.

After seeing them waste away £40K-£50k on average players like Borini for the past few years, I don't think it's a case of them not being able to. It's just that players who warrant those wages wouldn't be playing at a club like Liverpool in the first place. The last player was Suarez and The Guardian had him down as earning £200,000 when he signed the new contract.

International breaks are crazy, Pellegrini must be tearing his hair out. Aguero and Silva injured.

Shame to see Ivanovic injured but every cloud and all that. Something tells me he'll be fit for our next game though.

Suarez was a special case though. Liverpool can't afford to have several players on them kind of wages like the big clubs can. Again, this is simply fact - not me making stuff up.

International breaks wrecked Essien's career.

Players injured this weekend :

Aguero

Silva

Morata

Pogba

Benzema

Matic

Ivanovic

David LuiZ

Gotze

Schweinsteiger

Plus 2 Dutch goalies, Cillessen and Krul.

It's a bit strange to not see any Arsenal players out.

Well, 3 more days of international football to go. Hopefully this list stops growing.

As an Englishman, I really dislike international footy now. Not because we are boring to watch, just because of the pointless qualifying group stages. We have the likes of Northern Ireland and Wales qualifying now and no disrespect to those nations but UEFA have really watered down the Euros now, just to stretch the thing on longer.

It's farcical when you think about it. Thank god proper football is back next weekend.

They haven't stretched it far enough to make the Netherlands go through.

There is zero point in England playing against a nation such as San Marino. I find it all a bit embarrassing personally.

I don't watch international football anymore, I became too disillusioned with it a few years ago.

I understand your point but with respect to Northern Ireland and Wales, neither has needed the 3rd qualifying spot in their group so their success cannot be put down to the tournament being watered down. They've both just put out teams that really want to work and do the very best they can with their admittedly limited resources. You rarely sense that the players representing England play with as much passion.

I am pleased for Wales and Northern Ireland, don't get me wrong. But these qualifiers haven't half dragged on. I haven't even watched England since the World Cup.

I can't stand the soulless bowl which is the new(ish) Wembley Stadium. I hate ITV and their England cliches. I hate the way everyone still classes Rooney as our saviour when in fact he looks like a pub player these days. And I f**king hate Roy Hodgson's 'tactics'.

It's all a huge borefest.

I think international football is best enjoyed by fans of non-premier league teams. From what I've seen, fans of PL teams spend the whole international break worried about injuries and bored to death, while fans of championship, league 1, etc teams seem to enjoy it. They get an opportunity to go to Wembley and to see top level football.

(That last bit isn't totally true for England though.)
