Trouble is he's not doing it for us.

Yeah I know, I'm looking forward to when that day comes though hopefully its sooner rather than later (or not at all). think he is a real talent and likely to become the Eredivise top goalscorer or atleast Vitesses for the season.

Well i suppose if you think getting lucky is magic.

this is what our 18 y/o can do https://vine.co/v/exlOi7rrzma .

I don't think it was luck, he knew what he was doing and it's not as if it cannoned off the other players.

I do rate that skill from Solanke very highly. Takes a lot of guts to actually do it on the pitch.

How patient will Villa be with Sherwood? Any thoughts?

Personally I don't think he's a good manager. He's all about creating a positive atmosphere and instilling belief which works short term when he first takes over but as soon as results start going against him he has no tactical answer.

I'm amazed he got another Premier League job personally, he's done nothing to deserve it and he'd be better served taking on a Championship team and learning his trade there and expanding his experience and knowledge.

Yeah watching it back (more sober) he does show great strength and balance to keep that ball alive, great play by the lad he made his own luck.

Yep, he's a bit like DiCanio in that respect.

Thanks for that answer. I tend to agree. I instinctively like his attitude and openness but Villa look poor, even taking into account the loss of some of their better players.

It's a good point you make about why he was given another PL club.

Don't get me wrong losing Delph and Benteke was a big blow for them but he was allowed to reinvest the money unlike, say, Pardrew at Newcastle who lost the likes of Demba Ba and Cabaye but wasn't given the funds to buy replacements.

Sherwood, despite his lack of experience in the transfer market, was trusted to reinvest and bring more stability to the team and to date his signings have been poor and the whole side looks disjointed.

He's lost more games than anyone else in the league so far and I don't think he's got what it takes to fix it personally.

Funnily enough I reckon Big Sam would have done well with the Villa job had he waited.

Yaya Toure with his annual bitching session:

Journalists have spoken about a new departure for me,” Touré said. “But what new departure? I have just come out of a season with City where we finished second in the English league, which is the hardest in the world.”

“I scored 26 goals, 20 in the Premier League, and nobody mentioned it. You understand a bit my disgust. Here, when it is bad, they stress it; when it’s good, they leave that in the dungeon. They have always used their little methods to annoy and alienate me"

People thought that I was going to leave because of all that, but they forget that I am an honest person who keeps his word,” Touré continued. “Even if there were lots of bitter people who tried to dirty my name.

“When I arrived at City, in 2010, I heard a lot of people say, here, that I was going to kill football! The journalists were talking about my salary and saying that it was a disgrace. They asked what I, Yaya Touré, was going to change at City. And so, did you see what happened next? We won nearly everything. In fact, it is recognition that I do not have that hurts me. It is a bit sickening.

“I do not want my two sons in football. I do not want them to have to go through everything that I have endured. It has hurt me. Everyone thinks I am happy: I have won titles, lots of money, but, no, I am not happy.

....What a c**t.
