John Stones

@barak81, I'd be very surprised. Obviously I don't know any more or less than you, but judging on our past record of selling very high, I can't see it.

And I can see why some Chelsea fans might say 'that's too much, we've got Zouma, and there are other players out there'. It's just a reflection of the market, and the strength of position of the selling club.

OK I think the price will be 32 so let's have a little bet.. 5ve to to this forum and a 5er to amys charity if he goes for anything less then and ill do the same your way if he goes for more. I'll also pay out if chelsea bid 34 and don't go hire but it's turned down??

My fellow Evertonian is just saying that we don't need to sell, and the player is not the type to kick up a fuss, so our 'no intention of selling' comment can basically be read as 'make us a silly offer, otherwise we'll hang onto him quite happily, and entertain other bids the season or two after that'

They always say they don't need to sell. it's a mind game most of the clubs play but to be honest that phrase is getting old.

From the Guardian......

"Despite Everton’s insistence that Stones is not for sale, it is believed a deal worth £34m should be enough to see an agreement be reached."

Let's hope we can push it through.

All still opinion though - nothing substantial in there.  I'm not saying that it's not true - but it's just a journalist saying what he thinks.

Sorry - forgot to quote BlueDylan

Reasons the move is good for him:

- Learning from a much better manager.

- Champions league football.

- More chance to win big trophies.

- Chance to play with better players including and most importantly John Terry.

- Better off financially.

- More chance of becoming a top player.

- Potential partnership with Cahill (if JT loses form or is injured) and could benefit England.

Reasons it's a good move for him to stay

- More game time (Euros coming up)

So looking at that moving to Chelsea definitely benefits him more. Only reason I think he could stay at Everton is more game time with the Euros coming up. Other than that there isn't a better time for him to move to Chelsea. Any extra time he can get to learn with John Terry is massive as we have seen how much better players are with John Terry than without.

The first bid or 2 were always going to be rejected. IF the Telegraph are correct, they may not be, and the chairmen are talking that doesn't really bode well for those wanting to keep Stones really does it?  Your chairman wouldn't speak to us if he (Stones) was "going nowhere"

Interesting to see if Buck and Kenwright's good relationship has any bearing on our next bid

Apologies for not having the tweets or even remembering which paper said it (Times/Telegraph/Guardian, one of them) but apparently Buck and Kenright have a good relationship so they've met to try and smooth things over. Not exactly sure what that means or if it's even true, perhaps when Everton made all that noise over Lukaku they got close ;-)

Nah we're happy with Rom, honestly. Still a work in progress admittedly, but he'll retain his value and hopefully better. I still think Atsu will be a good player, it just didn't work out because we played awfully as a team last year and it wasn't his fault.

It's nice to know Kenwright and Buck are snuggled up next to each other whispering sweet nothings about John Stones. Buck better leave the right amount of cash on the bedside table though.

JT dna mixed with some advanced stem cell and growth hormone technology

Perhaps a Terminator sent from the future. 'Come with me if you want to live'!

So if we get froze out on Stones and Varane surely we would be onto plan C, who I have no idea who that might be tbh.

You are the only Everton fan I've seen that thinks that about Atsu. Granted you guys were poor but he still managed to be the worst player on the pitch each time he played.

Yeah but everyone wants everything to be perfect yesterday. Give the lad a break I say, he'd just won best player in the Dutch league, and has played well internationally. He's still a young'un. Wasn't his fault we were sh*te. Messi would've looked out of sorts playing for us last season, the way we played.
