John Stones

2 scenarios-

They will stay true to their fick scouse word and not sell the boy, missing out on much needed capital, they are probably blase now due to increased TV rights income

They are driving up the price while saving face with the fans whom they committed 'NO SALE OF STONES' to, meaning a deadline day deal if CFC meet their over inflated

value

at this point I don't care, agree with Cundy on TS that Stones is going to have to try and do a 'Sterling' and agitate further for a move, but he doesn't seem the type to do that

Is a shame this thread took this turn. The other evertonion fans seemed more likely to get more aggressive but I had hoped bluedylan would turn out more like spudyoulike. Guess we only get one of those.

For me I expect everton to turn down all offers we make now, in the January window and then next summer, when they agree a money plus player(s) deal with United.

Jose will then ensure we do no more deals with everton.

Martinez

"During this tough period we are going to be there for him," - He doesn't want to be there for you, idiot.

"We have great ambition, desire and great plans for John. We want to be a winning team and we need to keep our best performers and clearly John is big part of our future." - Win against who? Teams below 8th position? Nice one.

"We are a big football club with an incredible tradition and we will carry on giving him everything we can. - Ok mate.

"As a young man you are under massive pressure and you are going to get influences." - How about personal ambition?

"We are going to look after John. We are going to understand him." - Chelsea can look after him better and give him what he wants

"I feel let down by the football authorities in this position. We should look after our players and we will make sure we will look after John." - You can look after him by letting him go where he wants, idiot.

What an idiot.

Are they quotes from today?

There's numerous young defenders across Europe who I expect to become one of the best in their position in the world.

The 2 French youngsters, Laporte and Varane, being the obvious two.

Stones will be up there of Everton allow him to move and better his career and win things. Champions league football will be great for him too.

Champions league is the real litmus test for greatness IMO. You're playing against Europes elite throughout the season, pretty awesome.

I used to like Martinez as well but I can't stand managers being hypocrites.

If a bigger club wanted Martinez then he would be off.

I much prefer a manager to adopt an approach like Pardew who when asked if Bolasie should turn down Spurs and stay at Pace said absolutely not and that he'd be foolish to do so.

This is the manager who got Wigan relegated and he f**ked off for a bigger club

The Guardian's live transfer blog just asked:

"If Everton planned not to sell him after buying him from Barnsley, why bother including a 15% sell-on fee within the deal?"

Probably so they didn't have to fork out as much money and left Barnsley short changed. If you're not going to sell him on for a ridiculous price - why have that clause? 'Yes Mr Barnsley's chairman [too lazy to Google] you can have 15% when we sell him on.... promise.'

Thanks for the explanation. Scrolling back through the thread it all seems a bit daft.

Most if not all of the Everton fans have started out ok, but like BlueDylan have ended up resorting to media-propogated stereotypes about why Chelsea fans are the most hated in the country. And this:

The vast majority of you have just confirmed the suspicions that most people have about the Chelsea fanbase, and the whole club.

Is a sign of someone who is perilously close to outstaying his welcome. In my ever so 'umble.

To be fair to bluedylan, it was in response to a few posts by us playing into that stereotype by calling Everton a feeder club who won't win anything and how they should just accept that. I don't think his stance was ever "Everton are a bigger club with better players", so really, it just seems petty for us to shove that in his face like it has anything to do with his belief and desire to see Stones stay. I don't think he'd said anything particularly controversial or derogatory towards us until then. I mean, I know I'm nobody to lecture people on how to interact with oppo fans, but I feel like the bile would be better directed towards Boberto Martinez, who is actually trying to play up the Evil Chelsea angle while he sits on his whiny high horse, instead of some fan who has been pretty reasonable considering we're trying to buy one of his team's best players.

I just don't like the idea of us, as fans, using the "we're a bigger club than you are na na na na" argument. It smacks of insecurity and childishness, like a kid bragging about how his dad is stronger and richer than yours or me bragging about how big my dick is (it's huge). You know, the kind you see when United fans try and convince themselves they're bigger than Real Madrid or when Liverpool fans cry out "5 times!!!" after every defeat and/or failed sexual conquest.

I realize some Everton fans have been complete twats about this, but using him as the stick to beat them with is unfair and uncalled for, and ultimately counterproductive, because it leads to the nonsense he responded with, which was also unfair, uncalled for and ultimately counterproductive.

I don't agree with the approach of some of the Everton fans that have come on here and I have criticised Martinez for being a massive hypocrite but I have to say that I don't like to see Chelsea fans on here retaliate with rubbish like "you're a feeder club", "he doesn't want relegation football" etc. Proper Chelsea fans should and would know better than that, I imagine the majority coming out with phrases like this are "newer" Chelsea fans.

I don't normally get involved with this kind of thing but as you have basically quoted me twice I'll bite on this one..

If started with Glenn is an indication of when you started following the team, your "new" by my definition. And if you read my posts you'd probably have an indication that I don't fall in to any kind of new category..

As for the forum, I've been posting on this forum the 12 years this is the only forum I post on and although have only met a handful of posters in person feel that what we have here is a small family of soughts, so oppo fans coming in an telling us how to act in our home is not welcome in my opinion.

This scouse mug has pretty much put an underhanded sligh dig on every post. I dont need to mince my words and be a sligh c**t... Im quite happy to call him a prick
