John Stones

JM in his press conference this afternoon repeated the line that he doesn't comment on players of other teams...nothing about JS or PB...but he did say that Juventus have made comments about Oscar and Ramires...

If Everton do sell after what they said then they will look like absolute fools.

Keeping a player who has handed in a transfer request and has his head elsewhere isn't very clever either.

There will be no long term damage between the 2 clubs and I'm sure we will deal with each other again. Chelsea and Everton are no different to other ambitious clubs, trying to hold on to our best players whilst fending of rumours. We won't fall out over it because that's how it works.

The only long lasting damage is the relationship between Stones and Everton.

I genuinely mean this but if I was an Everton fan I wouldn't be happy.

I think we made a mistake with Mata & KdB in terms of playing time, NOT in letting them go, which to be fair could have been avoided by the previous point.

But once a players unhappy for me, you let them go, it's not a good thing to have in a dressing room, someone who doesn't really want to be there.

From a fans point of view I want people who will give their all and love pulling on our Jersey not someone who doesn't want to wear it anymore.

Which is exactly why if barca/Madrid come in for hazard and he makes it clear he wants to go by submitting a transfer request, they're paying us more than he is worth in that current market (which we did with Stones) it'll be thanks for the service and all the best to him, bring in someone who wants to stay and play for the team.

That's just my view, there is no point in keeping unhappy players.

If i was en everton fan i would be absolutely f**king delighted.

a 40m rated player wanted by the champions who potentially could be a stalwart of the defence for years to come isnt sold. he may well look back on this saga and say "actually, f**k it, im happy here, right decision".

football is fickle, opinions change within the blink of an eye. only 8 weeks ago ivanovic was the best RB in the league, if not the world, fast forward and folk want him dropped because his "legs have gone".

fan opinions change. players' opinions change. stones might gain a sense of perspective on this one after the dust has settled, and it could work out well for both parties.

im not even slightly arsed. at 40m, we were getting our arses felt. we can do better.

I'm sure Jose thought he could also play Stones next to Matic.

We've seen it with players before, Desailly, Rijkard, Zouma.

Different players but I'm sure that was part of Jose's thinking.

Stones has good technique and is good on the ball.

It's in the players hands now. He handed in the transfer request. He needs to back it with conviction if he wants the move now. Whether you think it's right or not depends on how you feel clubs should act to transfer requestes. Personally once the player has put it on writing that he wants to leave I think it should be worked out how that can happen in the best interests of all party's

I wonder how their other players will view it too.

I think we fans worry about things like this far more than the actual players do. Levy is known for playing hard ball and yet Spurs still sign and tie down young players to long contracts.

Stones would gave known the clubs stance based off what happened with Banies a few seasons ago anyway.

Mate, it's over.

I've always said he was destined for man utd and you have been getting played all along. They learnt their lesson poncing about with derogatory bids for baines and fellaini. Small bids whilst trying to unsettle the young lad ensured this would never happen regardless of price. It was more a matter of principle. Maybe Everton have cut their nose off to spite their face, only time will tell.

I think we can safely say that this particular thread has now drawn to a conclusion........can we move on or start another rumour now for the next few days?

Really took a strong dislike to martinez after all this, surely now any up and coming youth players will think twice about joining everton knowing that if they got a chance to go to a big club everton will veto it

This is one of the funniest comments I've ever read!

You'e taken a 'strong dislike' to a man because he doesn't roll over and sell his best players whenever a money club turns up? Like seriously, please explain the rationale behind such a bizarre comment!

And I know I'm biased but little old Chewlsee will NEVER be a bigger club than Everton. No matter how many titles you buy.

The dislike for all the hypocrisy in the man complaining about chelseas open pursuit of stones, also complaining about the transfer window being open after the league has started...well this morning he spoke about signing 2 players in this part of the window he moaned about

Destined for Man U yet he put in a transfer request to come to Chelsea? Hmmm ok then[/quote

United have players that may actually tempt Everton. You only had hard cash to play with. This would have left us in a similar position to which Chelsea find themselves. Over paying for players because other teams know you have the cash.

Oh look another person so bored with their life they have to spend time on the forums for other teams.

Honestly, what do you get out of this?

Typical of the majority of Everton fans who have infested this forum in the wake of this transfer saga, asks a perfectly good question and then mugs himself off and looks like a childish brat with the last comment. How can they be expected to be taken seriously if their life consists of signing up to opposition forums purely to say they’re a bigger club etc…? That IS small time.

I said on the first page any of this big club/small club crap will be deleted... but I'll keep it in case another paranoid Scouser says they're being censored. If they can read, they’ll know they’re just not adhering to what was asked, so if they start a conspiracy theory thread on their own forum they’ll look even more tragic.

Don’t even mind Everton fans, never met a daft one but they clearly come out on Internet forums.

Who signs up to another teams’ forum to say they’re a bigger club? Stupid.

Stones wants to play for Chelsea that's why he put in the request. Love how you talk like you know everything you on the Everton board?
