Papy Djilobodji

Featured Replies

There's lies, damned lies and statistics.

At this point you're just embarrassing yourself.

That's the best you could come up with? F&*( stats?

I am still waiting for any proof that he is a 'below average defender'. Anything? Any single objective thing?

Media reports and I can confirm that Marseille approached Chelsea for the loan. If thats not enough to state it as a fact, then at minimum its a highly probable fact.

Good lord that's funny.

Djilobodji scores...

Another immense game by Djilobodji. A goal and the woodworks. Plus 7 interceptions and 1 clearance. What is weirdest is that as a defender he had 6 shots on goal, twice as much as Pizarro.

Another worldie from him.

Does anyone really care at this point?

He will be sold and forgotten about in an instant

Jon would be breathing down your neck in the Traore thread tonight...

5 games - 3 stormer's of a game, 1 good game and 1 poor game. And the only game the forumers focus on and give any credence to is the poor game...

In all honesty most of you never gave him a chance on the basis of your own ignorance and the fun to be had with his name.

Meanwhile Werder fans are calling Chelsea blind for ignoring such a player and already hoping Werder sign him on.

This is all great info, maybe you could also keep track of his daily eating habits, bodily functions and favourite tv shows too? Would add a lot to the list of things above that no one actually gives a sh*t about

I'm pretty interested how he's doing. No need to ridicule Mr. Stakes.

Ridicule isn't the word i'd use. Reality is that he's 99% certain never to add to his single lonely minute of football for chelsea, so if someone wants to keep track of one of our players on loan, most of us would prefer to hear about one that may actually make it.

If true its Chelsea's loss.

Also... You should be happy a loanee is doing well, because that means he can be sold at a profit.

I don't think it's our loss at all tbh.

He was never going to get ahead of Terry, Zouma, Cahill and Ivan who will cover the CB while Baba in LB.

He's the perfect example of us trying to make money short term. Buy for a low fee, loan out and sell.

He will never be remembered for anything else at Chelsea.

It really really isn't. Like at all. Zouma and probably Andreas Christensen are the future of our central defense, he'd be nothing more than a fourth choice centre back

He's much better than Zouma and he's proving it. Maybe one day Zouma will be better but right now its shouldn't really be a doubt that Djilobodji is allround better.

And you guys still comment on the basis of your ignorance and most likely haven't even seen him play. I've seen both Zouma and Djilobodji on multiple occasions and there is no contest.

Its surprising how much trust you place in coaches judgement given what happened to Lukaku or de Bruyne.

If you've had your share of ridiculing me I suggest going to the Werder forum and convincing them that Papy really is crap... For some context some loose translations from their forum. Please feel free to go to their forum and write to them the same stuff you've been writing to me:

"I was at the stadium yesterday and came out amazed. A totally developed player, technically class, fast, good grasp of tactics, really fun to watch offensively, full of confidence and skill plus has an elegance in his movement and on the ball, which makes hi aesthetically accomplished."

"Such good playmaking its unbelievable. In a addition a goal threat, really aggressive and an absolutely top class player. Would love to see Papy here after the summer."

"Really unbelievable how he runs and gives offensive support sprinting forward with giant strides. And yet somehow he is always back in defence."

"This player is world class. Even better than Naldo. (...) We need to thank Chelsea for ignoring such a player. Even someone half-blind would notice after 5 minutes what kind of an explosive player they have on their hands."

"No kidding. I would play him in midfield!!! As a playmaker!!!"

"He is our Boateng."

"Wicked player. Composed without end. We can only be happy he is here with us."

"We are so lucky he is playing for us. Can't remember the last time a newcomer had such a quick impact on us."

"We need to be realistic. He's WAAAY too good for us! There is a world of difference between him and most others in our team. If we had 2-3 players of Papy's quality we would certainly be playing for the Europa League."

"Once again our best player. Class!"

"Incredibly good player. Incredibly strong in the tackle, confident and extremely composed (a CB who is so assured on t'he ball while under pressure is a rare sight). His playmaking is outstanding and his attacking sense makes him very dangerous."

"A very elegant defender."
