I don't need to know him to judge Zouma is a better centre back than him, I have seen him play and I have yet to see anything that tells me he's a better option than Zouma.

Mourinho is a great coach, but he does not exume confidence in terms of player selection and the reason he's out is because he's stubborn as an ox.

 

As for Hiddink he came in and trusted the old guard match after match - tried to work with the use of them. He didn't trust a single youngster or alternative, instead he fell back on the age-old solution that is Mikel. And we all know what happened when he was forced to give Baba Rahman a two game runout...

3 English League cups, 1 English FA cup

Won the copa deal rey and copa Italia

2 time UEFA manager of the year on top of 32 other individual manager honours including 3 time English manager of the year.

I could go on however I feel the above makes you out to look rather silly when trying to suggest Mourinho doesn't know what he is doing.

ROTFL at Drogba and Essien. Drogba and Essien were players of the year in France and hardly unknown. Drogba also had a strong Champions League run and won the Onze d'Or ahead of Henry and Ronaldinho. They were pursued by everyone.

 

Dave came to us as a seasoned veteran with 5 full seasons in a major league as a first team player. Plus he came from a top ligue 1 side Marseille where he was excelling. Hardly unknown quality.

 

Petr Cech was sort of a lucky story, because Cudicini got injured, after which Cech was promoted to the starting XI (no alternative). This was followed by a brilliant first season where Cech went on to break all sorts of records. The rest was history. Also it wasn't Mourinho that bought him, but Ranieri.

 

Kurt Zouma is the only credible point from the above list. Albeit it could be argued that Zouma only played so much this year because Mourinho didn't get Stones and Mourinho put down Terry as past it. Also Zouma was very strongly hyped before joining us. Much liked Mikel or Kalou.

Funnily enough the same people that were lambasting Mourinho for not trying youth and playing the same players ad infinitum this season are now suddenly protecting him as a great coach of youth players and judge of quality...
