Not defensively, we were all at sea. I was talking in regards to keeping the ball.

He may have kept the ball for us but when you are playing a bunch of 5 yard sideways passes it isn't exactly a hard thing to do. He was bought in to make our midfield stronger, more balanced and take a bit of pressure off the defence, he failed at doing all 3 of those things. He takes the easy option every single time he plays. Play a bunch of sideways 5 yard passes and put a tiny bit of effort in when tracking back. When does he ever bust a gut to put a tackle in like Pedro ( a winger ) was doing at times today ? or when does he actually make a bunch of really clean tackles ? he goes into them half hearted. Fabregas playing in that position could have done the same job as Mikel today and i don't want Fabregas anywhere near that position at the moment.

I don't get how Ivanovic keeps starting. He's been terrible, puts minimal pressure on attackers and has cost us goals.

At least with Fabregas there's the excuse of no alternatives (which we should have resolved in the transfer window...)

We lose the ball down the middle then don't close down so other teams get gilt edged chances far too frequently

1988 after 6 games I think we had four points. Went on a 29 unbeaten run and won the second division with 99 pts!! I know it's was div 2 but things can still turn around.

Can't believe some would be happy for Mourinho to go. Who's out there, let's go for Sam Allerdyce!! Be careful what you wish for. Spoke to people at the game, the fans were with the team and no negative chants. KTBFFH

f**king hell we are bad. Glad we have a cup game midweek. Good place to start building confidence. f**k this squad shouldn't be this bad. Every single player needs to wake up to this season. It is a torture to follow us atm.

Back in my day, Chelsea weren't relegation fodder, they were champions.

Oh, those were the days...of earlier this year.

Players were gutless again

Buck has to stop with the manager

Hope he can turn it around soon. Not fun to see the

Prem champions play so so poorly.

It clearly is hard as we lost control of possession when he went off. We were actually looking fairly decent and able to push on for a equaliser before the sub.

He busted a gut in the first half, don't recall who was latching onto the end of the pass but it was a straight up sprint between him and someone else (I want to say Galloway but not sure), he had to win and make the tackle otherwise he was in behind the defence. He also made a clean tackle in the first half, although as long as he wins them I don't care how half hearted he looks.

Fabregas did play in that position when Mikel came off and looked worse there than he did further forward.

I think Jose has to realize that Branna is underperforming to such an extent that time on the bench is needed now the question is Rahman injured or not ready. Fabregas is not pulling the strings and creating it seems in early going to be in the way of Pedro and vice versa which impacts Costa who isn't getting the ball in scoring positions. Costa when he does have the ball seems unusually tentative and unsure whether to shoot or create a better angle. Your question why would Jose drop them is that we aren't just losing matches but losing very badly and I think he realizes this. My two cents anyway.

Well I thought for sure before this match we would get the 3 points but it seems to me that we are to slow and deliberate in the final third. This bad result will usher in changes such as Branna, Costa, as well as Fab being dropped for the Maccabi and Arsenal match.

I'm all for dropping underperformers, but who do you replace them with? our bench is sh*t.

He didn't play week in week out bad performers .? I hate to say but that guy won lot with pretty much average players with likes of O'shea , Brown , Richardson ,  Anderson etc. But he kicked their asses when they played bad ....

Fergie persisted with Jonny Evans and Tom Cleverley for years despite it being obvious they were not good enough.

All managers get it wrong, even the very best. They are human beings, after all.

I wish people would stop telling other posters how to feel. If someone feels frustrated and feels the need to vent it, let them.

When you tell others they're "spoilt, should support the team ffs and trust Jose no matter what", question their loyalty and start the good old "where were you when..." routine, I feel the urge to tell the lot of you to slide your collective tongues up Jose Mourinho's ass and leave'em there.

We've been playing like crap for a while now and the manager deserves to be slated. That's his job, to prepare the team, to motivate the players. If they appear poorly trained and unmotivated, he has to carry the biggest responsibility. Yet another embarrassing post game interview from him today to match the gutless performance on the pitch.

Well said sir, I have loved and supported Chelsea for 45 years through a good few managers. I appreciate what JM has done for us (and may do again) but given the choice it's always Chelsea over any single person.

Maybe someone else should start a Mourinho forum where the worship could continue unabated regardless of performance or even his team.

Brilliant post !!

Bit worrying to think that Jose had two weeks to think about this game and then decided to start with Ivanovic and Mikel.

In what football universe does that make sense?

Might as well give Baba Rahman and Loftus-Cheek a go.

How much worse can it get?

It's not as if blind loyalty to the old guard is getting us results.

Agreed. I Support Mourinho 100% but things need to change, fast. If a team continually plays like they are underprepared and under motivated then questions inevitably start to be asked of the manager.

Having said that its hard to know if some of these posters are trolls or not. I genuinely can't tell.

Mourinho has said people are happy to see me lose. Hardly surprising when you've almost single- handedly  made us the most hated club in the country. Lose take it on the chin mate stop feeling sorry for yourself and sort this mess out if your capable and what i've witnessed this season your not.

Mourinhos just got the hump because we didnt spend £200 mil on pogba and stones!!

Closer to 100 million from reports.

Looks like it would've been money well spent from where I'm sitting.
