September 16, 201510 yr I don't think Jose should change it for Saturday, he needs to send a message that if you perform you keep your place, even for the big games!
September 16, 201510 yr Baba done ok considering first game. Gotta give him time. Agreed. Never stopped, clearly very keen to impress. A few more appearances needed to really judge. Everything there though to suggest he and Azpi may be our first choice full backs by the end of the season.
September 16, 201510 yr I don't think Jose should change it for Saturday, he needs to send a message that if you perform you keep your place, even for the big games! I'd get pedro on, I'd like to see Remi start he just looks more like scoring than costa when he is leading the attack, would have appreciated his pace more if Mert was still at CB
September 16, 201510 yr After all this beating of Savage can I put a word in for Hoddle who sounds like he's on a huge dose of ketamine. Honestly it can't be hard to find better that either of those two...
September 16, 201510 yr Well that was good. We went a bit off the boil first-half when Willian went off. The star of the show was RLC. People can say they were sh*t but there was a lot of pressure on the team, it was the biggest game in the young boy's life, a CL tie with millions round the world watching, and he didn't let it faze him. He just oozes class, physicality, intelligence. We have to play him on Saturday beside Matic, our midfield would be so much better. Baba did well, liked the look of him, confident on his right foot unlike Ashley, energetic. He won't start against Arsenal though, those of you hoping he will need a reality check. Good to see an attacking full-back on that side though, and good to see Dave play on his natural side. For me, JT walks back into the side against Arsenal but who'll be his partner? I hope RLC starts beside Matic and then the question is does he play Oscar or Fabregas? It will almost certainly be Fabregas, particularly as Oscar is coming off the back of an injury. A clean sheet, four goals, and Arsenal, City and Utd lose. A good set of results for us for a change. Let's just hope Willian's injury isn't too bad. Well done Jose. You picked the kids and the kids won.
September 16, 201510 yr Attitude is what I liked the most. The desire to keep scoring and moving the ball even when you lead is what makes great teams what they are. Keep your legs on the pedal boys, keep your legs on the pedal...
September 16, 201510 yr I'd get pedro on, I'd like to see Remi start he just looks more like scoring than costa when he is leading the attack, would have appreciated his pace more if Mert was still at CB I hope people don't go mad at me for this becaus Costa is a great goal scorer, but his touch/passing/hold up play is really awful at times.
September 16, 201510 yr What happens on the right wing with Pedro and Willian gone? Mourinho will most likely go with Remy or Ramires.
September 16, 201510 yr Mourinho will most likely go with Remy or Ramires. or pull a surprise and go for traore who looked bright in his cameo
September 16, 201510 yr Fabregas admitting his game is off in the post match interview It happens for high level sportsmen, the world of darts (the yips) has acknowledged as much. Let's hope Fab and others regain their form.

Agreed, so much of our attacking play broke down with Diego - frustrates me no end... poor first touch, poor decisions Hopefully Willian will be fit for Arsenal. Good win, onwards and upwards. September 16, 201510 yr I hope people don't go mad at me for this becaus Costa is a great goal scorer, but his touch/passing/hold up play is really awful at times. I've just seen a still of Costa post scoring and he looked quite emotional, what did others notice, or was it just the camera?
September 16, 201510 yr I've just seen a still of Costa post scoring and he looked quite emotional, what did others notice, or was it just the camera? not sure i noticed that too much. fabregas seemed quite emotional after he bagged turning and doing a bit of a chest pump to the fans
September 16, 201510 yr Great result and looking better, but I don't think our "bad moment" is over. We still look precaucios and frail in our game and we only controlled the match after the 3rd went in. I'm not expecting a good result from Saturday, today was as much about the quality and experience of opposition as anything else A few players played very well - Dave, Zouma, Cahill, Willian. Rahman looked like he needs minutes to fit in the team, but at present looks a better LB than Brana at RB, so ideally he starts vs Arsenal. Hazard was atrocious, don't know what's happened to him, but when he's off his game, our whole attack struggles.Costa looked a bit better and took his goal well. EDIT: Forgot to add - RLC looked on fire today, easily my MOTM. I'd be wary of starting him against Arsenal, but he showed plenty of promise and could well turn out to be our answer to Matic's partner in midfield. Edited September 16, 201510 yr by Virosh
September 16, 201510 yr Fabregas admitting his game is off in the post match interview I thought it was refreshing, he looked a man that knows he's been underperforming, and spoke like he was on a mission to rectify it. There's only 2 places in the middle if you assume Matic is a shoe-in, and Oscar & Loftus Cheek both made strong cases to stay in the squad for the weekend. Its good, Jose has one or two real selection headaches now.
September 16, 201510 yr Very relieved that we won and kept a clean sheet I don't care if it was against Maccabi or the San Quetin All-Stars its a win and three points.
September 16, 201510 yr An Arsenal fan on twitter said "yeah against a team no-one has heard of" I pointed out to him that Zagreb haven't won in the CL before - and he said that they had a 41 game unbeaten run. Arsenal fans are the gift that keeps on giving!

You picked the kids and the kids won. Cant play Ivan surely, if we lose he will be under double pressure, changed to a winning formula then back to a losing one, even if he doesn't play baba which he should, Azpi MUST stay at RB its a different dynamic, play anyone at LB, kenedy, baba, Zouma, I dont care just not Ivan at RB under any circumstances.
