Jose Must Go / Must Stay (merged threads)

Featured Replies

Forgot about Hector. I'm 100 per cent sure he wasn't a Jose signing. Jose also had no idea who Djillibotchjob was.

If anyone should be sacked it should be Michael Emenalo for last Summer's transfer window. What a bloody fiasco thst was and we're paying the price for it now.

If Jose is sacked and Emenalo is still at the club then Roman has lost all sense of reality.

Nice to see someone else looking at our problems from the angle I see them, I mentioned earlier the signings really don't seem to be in Jose's hands and I really don't understand how Roman can expect Jose to build a team to his vision with players Emanalo feels are what we need.

Throwing good players at a coach might look good from the outside but integrating them into a team who play to a certain style means the man choosing them should be the man coaching them and dishing out the tactics.

If as at least two of us are thinking, this is the case I'm hopeful that Roman will work it out and put it right.

I'd love the next sacking or at least change of Job description be Emanalos.

There are many arguments for and against Jose staying but can anyone explain the lack of pre-season training ?? Only 16 sessions !! Surely this is the mangers responsibility. We don't look 100% fit.

Remember where we were before he came back.

Where were we ?? Well we had a few managers some good some bad. Carlo won the double Robbie won the CL,Avram nearly did as well . Only thing that was bad was that we bought a center forward who on paper should have been brilliant but was'nt. If he had worked out Jose'may not have come back at all !!

I feel like I should go to hell for saying this but we actually played better, FAR better, under Benitez than we ever did any time beyond last January. We won the league by doing the hard yards before Christmas and we parked the bus for the rest of the season.

We were total also-rans. We so much as challenged for the title once in six years without Jose, and I think we can agree that CL win was a bit of a fluke also. The other trophies Arsenal can have.

At least with Jose we feel safe enough to be shocked when we don't challenge for both the Premier League and the Champions League title.

No offense mate but I don't think your sacking Emenalo logic works, Emenalo didn't tell Jose to sell off Mata, De Bruyne, Lukaku, David Luiz etc and bringing in the likes of Salah, Cuadrado now did he?

This.

The "no control over transfers" excuse was boring last time round, can't be bothered with it again. He's been backed completely transfer wise. One of my main criticisms of him is he needs to use players when he buys them(over 30 million on left backs he hasn't used, nearly 50 million on cuadrado and salah) or better yet put some trust in youth.

Not saying I want him sacked before people jump down my throat but he needs to stop being so stubborn, stop picking his favourites and trust all the players in the squad he's spent over 2 years putting together.

luiz sale is a masterclass tho.. 50mils pound for defender who doesn't really fancy defending.. ya may get 1 or 2 games of that fine display off him but that's all about it..

Luiz is comfortably better than every defender at the club. He can actually defend in a high line for one and his ball playing ability in invaluable to a possession team. But but he makes mistakes, yeah because John Terry didn't get spun by Mane yesterday, every defender does.

His versatility is also missed. That Matic, Luiz partnership bossed all the big teams in his final season. We haven't looked great in any big game ever since.

Our fans ludicrously bragging about net spend like we are Arsenal while we're losing top quality players every window & replacing them with worse is partly why we're currently in this predicament. What good does £40m do us when we weaken our squad?

I don't doubt his ability hence the fine display that I mentioned but apart from ability, ya need that heart to be doing what ya're doing in order to be successful with consistency.. unfortunately he doesn't have that, I take it he wants to play forward but while the desire is there, he's just not quite able and vice versa for the defending task..

it's just not that simple of blunder once in a while, ticking bomb at the back and we can't afford the risk..

"‘We have a big group of players and we have the best manager who we remain behind and we remain together. That is what you do in tough circumstances. I have been here a long time and I have seen managers come and go and if anyone is going to get us out of this hole it is going to be Jose Mourinho." - John Terry after Southampton game

Jack can you tell me what makes you think Jose has got control of the transfers? you say he needs to use players he buys but how do you know he bought them?

I'm far from convinced he has put the squad together, Cuadrado and Salah you mentioned didn't look like Mourinho signing to me and the lack of playing time both got underlines that, can you imagine his relationship with Roman if he were to ask for Salah and Cuadrado specifically and then say he wants rid so soon after...in my opinion he wouldn't still be here now.

Other players he let go (of much higher ability) he found either wouldn't or couldn't play the way he wanted them to, were let go because the money offered was tempting enough and helped with a couple of signings I think he actually did ask for or just plain wouldn't try hard enough to force their way into the team.

If he came out tomorrow and said the transfer dealings, in and out have been down to him then I might be a lot more inclined to dig him out but if (and as I believe) they are not, I think we are all in his debt for the fact we have another title and cup to be proud of.

Tell you what was down to Jose, letting Lukaku go. That was an awful decision imho . Also Mata possibly !

^^

I'd sooner have Costa than Lukaku any day and Lukaku didn't show too much while he was here, a few good performances since he left are certainly not making me all watery eyed thinking what could have been.

Mata is a totally different story and we'll forever look at his ability and wish it was hapening in our team, that doesn't cover up that he wasn't the type of player our manager wanted and after trying to get him to play the way he wanted, he was sold for a very good sum of money and we went on to win a double, because he's looking good quite a time later at UTD and we are having a rough time doesn't make that a wrong decision unless we do end up with a change of manager to one who doesn't want his flair players to work too hard defensively.

When we signed Djiliboli(?) José claimed that it wasn't his signing, but that he trusts the judgement of others because he doesn't have time to travel or to watch videos of players. This was in The Star, but it used direct quotes.

So we know then that it must be a case of the club buying players, that José might, or might not fancy.

It doesn't seem ideal

David Luiz was and is a defensive liability, good athlete, colorful personality, great player on his day, that's about it. Not good enough to play CB consistently for Chelsea.

Mata was outperformed by a better and younger player at the time, couldn't force his way back into the team and wanted to leave, nothing to do here.

De Bruyne got his chances, not even as a squad player, he started Jose's first season as a first team player. Started well and then had a string of bad performances, started to cry in training that he's losing confidence and wanted to leave. Sounds to me like a big fish, small pond personality.

Lukaku wasn't and probably still isn't good enough to be Chelsea's first choice striker, his demands had no basis. In his case, I would have liked to see him here competing for a place but he doesn't have it in him. He was impatient and immature and now says that he wants to play for Mourinho when that chance was available to him two years ago.

Signings like Salah and Cuadrado are most likely not Jose signings if you analyze the initial reaction to them. Huge difference to players he knows, calls and trusts. Emenalo or whoever is responsible for this failed. Failed, tried to cover his failure by forcing random 2m quality players that even the manager has never heard of and in the process failed again. In general a guy like Emenalo (or any other executive/director) has no right whatsoever choosing/forcing players for a Jose Mourinho team, not in terms of experience and definitely not in terms of knowledge. If that's the case, something is seriously wrong with our board and needs complete rearrangement.

Just seen Mourinho's post-match press conference from yesterday. He is fighting for his job. Spoke honestly and passionately. I think he pitched it just right, and really hope the club do stick by him

...You mean like every top club in the world?

I find it astonishing how much sh*te some of our 'fans' are typing on the forum atm
