Bobbywoodhogan Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) What's everyone's go to Christmas movie(s)? Every Christmas Eve since I was a kid I've always watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I'll tell you one I watch every year that gets better every time I watch it Surviving Christmas, it's such an underrated gem. Really funny and very Christmassy. Ben Affleck is brilliant in it, plays such a dorky idiot. Edited December 13, 2015 by Bobbywoodhogan
Beerqueen Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Love Actually. I know it's cheesy, unrealistic and so on. But I love it. "Don't buy drugs. Become a pop star, and they give you them for free!"
RichardCFC Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Big fan of Love Actually as well. It has so many different types of humour.
Beerqueen Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 I love the PM's speech re the American president. I remember seeing it in the cinema and having to stop myself from standing up and cheering!
Gem Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 It's on ITV2 on Wednesday at 9, BQ. EDIT: and the Sunday.
Beerqueen Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Thanks. Already watched it this year. In November. But I may accidentally find the TV on ITV2 on Wednesday............

Bobbywoodhogan Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Love Actually is great Of course love the classics like Muppet's Christmas Carol, Scrooged, Elf, Home Alone, Home Alone 2, A Christmas Story and films like Deck The Halls, Christmas with the Kranks etc. I never could get into Bad Santa though.
Jezz Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is always broadcasted on free to air television on Christmas Day annually in Australia so it's a tradition to watch it every year. I never get sick of that movie! The jokes and humour are still funny after all these years. Edited December 14, 2015 by Jezz
Zola Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Forgot Planes, Trains and Automobiles! Strctly speaking its a thanksgiving movie, but we'll allow it because its awesome! And theres snow in it.
Bobbywoodhogan Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Forgot Planes, Trains and Automobiles! That's Thanksgiving but does kinda feel Christmassy
Chelsbear Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Always associated it with Christmas! Those Americans and their extra holiday!
Bobbywoodhogan Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Always associated it with Christmas! Those Americans and their extra holiday! Like Zola said though it has snow and is excellent so I think we could count it. Tbh setting it at Christmas would probably make it even more awesome.
Nibs Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 For me it's: 1) Elf As a family we watch Elf every year. Never get tired of it. It is THE Christmas movie. Classic!
Chelsbear Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 My missus loves Elf but I can't stick it for some reason. It's not Will Ferell because I love him in movies like Anchorman, Old School and Blades of Glory. Not sure what it is but I refuse to watch it now.
Zola Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Jingle All the way "You cant bench press your way out of this one pal"
dan_cfc Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Has to be Home Alone really, no other Christmas movie comes close.
TheChelseaBlues Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Anyone see Rare Exports? Not really cheery but its about Santa!
