I've said it before and I'll say it again. I hope when the new long-term coach is appointed that he insists he wants a say in all transfer comings & goings and is allowed to select his backroom team. That should mean no position for Emanalo so we can say thanks and so long. No-one really knows what he does but one thing is pretty certain, he won't be missed.

Mourinho had exactly this.

Emanalo isn't part of the backroom staff, he is Romans spy.

Who hired Jose? Who looked at the 'best academy in Europe' and 'Lukaku, Mata, KDB etc.' and thought Jose Mourinho would be the best man for the job despite having no track record in achieving success in that way?

Jose didn't appoint himself. He was hired to bring immediate success (because that's WHY you hire Jose) and he did it.

Who hired him?

Roman hired him, but what other proven manager was there at the time?

If your car breaks down and you have the choice of a proven superbike motor or taking a chance on a car engine that has less use, what would you choose?

That to me is the issue with Roman, he's constantly stuck between doing what he really wants but also wanting immediate success. In the end he gets neither and has to spend a boatload of money fixing the issues he helps to create.

I have said this before many times.....there is no point in blaming........Emanalo has no power to recruit or sack any body !

Emanalo watches the players and the manager as a spy and reports back to the CEO and she reports to Eugene T and Roman end of !

Any statement read out by Emanalo is carefully vetted by the CEO before hand. Quite simply Emanalo is a messenger boy

I think the whole bunch of them (Granovskaia, Tenenbaum, Buck, Emenalo) are yes-men to Roman and they know which side their bread is buttered. What we need is proper football people and proper Chelsea people in there.

Our vast scouting dept are scouring the world for the best players, and make reports on many hundreds of players through out the season.

The manager be it Jose or Guus or any body else in charge of us this week or next week or any time in the future, does not have the time to go and personally watch every new player that is recommended to them.

IMO Chelsea fc is being run as business not purely a football club like the old days, when clubs only signed players they wanted to use in the 1st team. Sadly those days are long gone as far as the top premier teams are concerned.

Our business model is like player farming,,,,,,,,The cost of buying a young player is weighed up against the estimated potential re-sale value, and as long the club makes a profit there is no problem.... Although we are not currently making a profit overall, because our wage bill is too high, which is why we are now buying cheaper players !

However the decision is purely a business matter and the decision of buying anybody at less than say 20 million is taken by the CEO Marina Granovskai not I repeat not by Emanalo !

Anything over 20 million has to be vetted more closely by Roman himself. As he doesn't have the time to discuss every single transaction.

So switch your anger towards the CEO not the messenger boy

I agree with your sentiments shedEnder but sadly Roman doesn't trust many people, and as he is bank rolling us, we have to put with it.

This is why a lot of our older generation fans are now going to watch non league football. Where I live in Maidstone, there are loads of guys who used to stand in the Shed and north bank West Ham etc but they have become pi**ed off with the big time Charlie footballers who sulk and dont play 100% for the club that's paying them minimum

Wages of 20,000 a week ( that's the youngsters ) and other big egos getting paid 100,000 a week.

I totally understand that sentiment. The game's changed so much in my time too and not for the better in all respects. That's why people like Jose and JT are so important to a lot of people because they still recognise something of the club in them, but the club doesn't seem to have any sentimentality about that in the slightest. They're so out of touch and I swear they seem determined to push a lot of loyal supporters away.

Quite apt that we were at MK on Sunday because that's the way it's all going.

We are in transition period now, , because Roman wants the club to at least break even I.e not loose money. And has instructed the CEO to reduce the wage bill by about 50 million, which is why we are looking to off load some big earners and recruit cheaper players. But also maintain our position in the top part of the league and maintain our winning silver ware culture.

It's gonna be a difficult and interesting time.

Especially with the massive cost involved, time and energy of re building Stamford bridge.

For many, Emenalo is the figurehead of an inept board who have made numerous questionable decisions.

For others, he's a patsy who has been put into a position he doesn't deserve.

For a lot, he's the idiot who came out on Chelsea TV and did a piss-poor job explaining the sacking of a manager we all loved.

Either he's the brains behind our sh*tty transfer dealings over the past 12 months or he's a man who has no real responsibility in a role that demands it. Either way, the supporters of this club deserve better.

Well said ShedEnder91.

The cost-cutting is something I've heard from a few people and I'm not sure if it's based on any truth but it certainly looks true.

We've spent very little in real terms over the last few seasons and relied on selling assets to cover costs. That means we've either got a lot of money in the bank for players or we're going to do an Arsenal.

And here's something I never thought I'd say - we don't have a manager as good as Wenger to do that.

We have all enjoyed seeing Wenger fail time and again, especially in the head to heads with Jose. An appalling record that got better and better for us the longer it went on.

However, I do still have a certain amount of respect for the guy and how he has stuck to his philosophy. This isn't me on some Wenger love-in, and over the years he has clearly been too stubborn for his own good. Splashing out a bit of cash on a couple of decent centre backs, DM and a keeper and not showing as much faith in players who weren't as good as he thought they were, and he could have added more trophies to his rather sorry looking haul. But I do like the idea of having someone like Wenger, who is good enough to be involved in all the important club matters. Not wasting time on some issues that would distract from team affairs but at least be in charge of everything squad related which would completely do away with the need for a waste of space like Emanalo.

Our wage bill is the highest / biggest in the Premier league, and that's a well known fact !

We have a new stadium to build, and that is gonna cost a mighty shed load of dosh.

Roman quite rightly wants the club to live within its means, which is something we are currently not doing, we made a loss last years accounts.

If anything happened to Roman ( plane crash etc God forbid ), that's why we need to Live within our means. I know there's a lot of money coming into the Premier league, but we need to stop making financial losses.

Roman was prepared to spend big money to bring Pep in but it was too late !

There is no one special out there who is available, so we should try to persuade Guus to remain for another season and all calm down

looks like it could be conte. i would't mind that choice.

That screams a temporary appointment (18-24 months) who will be subservient to the direction of Roman/the board/Emenalo and maybe scrape Champions League football.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I don't think this club has the ambition of being a title challenger for the next few seasons.

I would like to see Ruud Gullit as our new manager long term with assistants such as .....Didier Drogba as a striker coach, JT as a defender coach and Frank as a midfield coach.

If not then Mark Hughes with his assistant Eddie Neswicki and keep the existing assistant coaches that we already have, Eddie Newton etc

Loved it when Ruud was here before and was gutted when he was dismissed.

But that was then and this is now and I think it would be an utter disaster to have him back now. Still talks a good game but that's about it. To be honest, I wouldn't want Hughes either.

Conte would be high up in my list along with Simeone. I like both. Simeone is Chelsea-type if there is such a category. Conte has a great record in Italy and I think it will be hard to lure him here. Isn't he managing Italy?

I'm beginning to like the idea of Conte the more I look at his transfer history. He has no problem buying and playing young talent: Pogba, Vidal, Ogbonna, Asamoah. Even for Italy he's picking younger players. Another thing I appreciated is his judgement on when to get rid of players. Most of the players I looked at went downhill once he sold them at Juventus. They hit their peaks and he's sold them for a good price. It's clear he knows how to assemble a team as well. The move to bring in Pirlo worked out brilliantly. He's worked with a budget at Juve, Tevez for peanuts, Llorente, Pirlo, Pogba on free transfers. He spent 100m his first two seasons combined but the 3rd Juve actually had a positive balance.

Hopefully he'd willing to leave Italy after Euro 16, as of now he would be my favorite for the job. Our playing staff fits pretty well too. Fabregas for Pirlo, Ivan and Zouma as L and R CBs, Baba as LWB and Dave on the right. Costa would probably enjoy playing with another striker as well.

What about the midfield? He had Pogba and Vidal in there, two dynamic players and we have Matic, Mikel and Loftus-Cheek. In fact we just sold the closest player to those in Ramires.

This is the problem for me, that the style he's most closely associated with doesn't fit our club's style at all. So what do we do? Hire him, tear up the academy tactics book and change everything again for a guy who is more than likely going to be a stopgap? Maybe we'll hire him in the hopes it would help us sign Pogba, which is fairly short-sighted.....so will probably happen.
