Chelsea vs Manchester United (PL) 07/02/16 KO: 16:00 BST

I like Guus he's obviously a calming influence, candid at pressers, got an unbeaten streak going but...............

its the same team selections as the 'individual' before him except Mikel is back in the 1st team

sick of playing it safe, give RLC Kenedy & Traore a shout FFS,

another bore draw anticipated vs yarnited , same line up as usual

Would like to see RLC and Kenedy, yes.

Rlc over Matic any day of the week and Baba at left back, with Azpi at right back for me, it just won't happen at this club though, it's beyond a joke.

IF we go out with a slightly more aggressive line up then I think would win this. I think we might see a more attacking lineup as we were able to control the game against Watford this time and the team is getting better. So I think not just Guus but all at the club will start pushing for wins now instead of defensive draws.

We should have enough to beat them!

Courtois

Ivanovic - Zouma - Terry - Azpilicueta

Mikel - Fabregas

Willian - Oscar - Hazard

Costa

We have enough enough to win it - I agree with you and I would love that line up of yours, or maybe even take out Ivanovic for Baba cause i think Ivanovic will be roasted all day by Martial!  Unfortunately, our manager's aim is not to lose!!  So he is going to do his usual sh*t of Matic Mikel in Midfield!  he may even bench Hazard so i expect a boring game from Chelsea, much like he did at Watford.  Thank heaven this dude is only interim.

Regarding the Baba and Ivanovic situation I would defo play Baba at left and Dave at Right

Baba may be fragile defensively but he is a asset going forward-Can our Management for once stop worrying about the attack of the opposition and give them something to think about instead, then we'll see if oppositions Full backs are as keen coming forward with having Hazard and Baba to worry about.

Courtois

Dave Cahill. JT Baba

RLC Fab Kenedy

Pedro. Hazard

Diego

Sod DM style football if we can't find a Makelele, this would be a team full of energy and desire that would produce a win, please Guus consider this team as an acceptable venture against a piss poor Manc team, I'll be amazed if 6 players of my choice are in the starting 11. I hope the other 5 chosen by Guus will actually help us produce an entertaining win at home at the fortress that is Stamford Bridge. Chelsea forever

Although it was 0-0 in the reverse fixture United went very close hitting the inside of the post and De Gea made at least one world class save too from a JT header if I'm not mistaken. Certainly didn't deserve no goals.

I think it will be close as always, going for another draw (Hiddink the draw master right?), although this time 1-1.

Looking at 1-1 here.  Matic must be dropped, his performances are woeful.  I think we also see Hazard back in the lineup.  I'd love to see azpi on the right and baba at the left...but that just won't happen.

One thing I've noticed about his Press Conferences: he'll talk about football in general, perhaps more so than the actual game.  Last Presser he talked a lot about Terry and his role at the club, today he talked about other managers that were previously players.  I wonder if that's due to him being an Interim that the press don't grill him quite so hard about his own players? Or, is it because he has deflected enough of the BS from the press in the past that they know to not even bother trying to get a response in that way?

You can see they were trying to bait him into discussing his well-known mutual dislike with Louis van Gaal, but he didn't take the bait. I bet deep down Guus wanted nothing more than to say what an asshole van Gaal is, but he's achieved the goal in a sneaky manner. If van Gaal takes the bait, it'll make Guus look good and van Gaal look bad, so he gets to send the message that van Gaal is an asshole without looking bad himself. Great strategy.

Hiddink has perfected a highly potent weapon for diffusing negative attention: boring press conferences. Predictable non-controversial answers given with a completely neutral tone of voice and facial expression.

Another master of the art is Asmir Begovic. I'm not surprised because Begovic grew up in Canada, even has Canadian citizenship and represented them in youth competitions up to U20. (What's with the US and Canada developing good goalkeepers but sucky field players?) Canadian and American athletes get press training that drills this approach.

let's squash them  :Connie_threaten:

I want a win more than any other match this season. Louis van Gaal is the most odious manager in the Premier League--quite an achievement when you consider his competition.

I hope Guus gives a pre-game motivational speech to his players detailing just what an ass LVG has been to everyone, and that Guus has been on the receiving end of even more assholeishness than most other people. The players seem motivated to please Guus. I hope they'll be motivated to please Guus and also motivated to sh*t all over LVG's "philosophy".

Its a dead heat between him and Wenger.

Wenger honestly isn't so bad. Chelsea fans are biased to see it that way. Wenger is really petty, but if you view it from a neutral perspective, he's benign compared to van Gaal.

Louis van Gaal struck me as an asshole and bully before he joined Manchester United, so my impression isn't based on his current team. For what it's worth, Alex Ferguson also strikes me as an overrated asshole and bully, and his disproportional renown compared to other managers is the result of his public relations skills.
