February 5, 201610 yr I've never had it either. Wow! Where are you from? Is it by choice that you've never had it or is it not available? I just can't get my head round it......... Do you have roast pork?
February 5, 201610 yr I was so hoping it was meant as a clever pun. But as Droogba said, the OP may well be dyslexic. However, we really don;t need another negative thread. There are already too many available.
February 5, 201610 yr You've never had crackling??? What do the Dutch do with it all then? I don't even know what crackling is, but it sounds good :-)
February 5, 201610 yr I don't even know what crackling is, but it sounds good :-) It's the very, very crispy skin on roast pork. Pork scratchings are similar but sold in packets and not so nice.
February 5, 201610 yr I KNEW it had to be something delicious :-)It's because it so close to cracking. It can break your teeth though.
February 5, 201610 yr I love this thread. Surely there's a 'pictures of food' thread somewhere around here.
February 5, 201610 yr I love this thread.I think threads that go boff topic, meandering in a totally delightful way, should be flagged somehow.
February 5, 201610 yr Surely there's a 'pictures of food' thread somewhere around here. I remember "Cooking with Phillip" and of course the famous "Slow Cooker" thread.
February 5, 201610 yr I think threads that go boff topic, meandering in a totally delightful way, should be flagged somehow. Boff topic is even more delightful :-)
February 5, 201610 yr Bof! (gives a Gallic shrug) I know what crackling is, but I have no idea how you pull pork. Though I believe Yorkleyblue has been known to pull pork!
February 5, 201610 yr Crackling is way too healthy. In Hungary we have töpörty?. That's fat bacon (in lack of a better word, but imagine something with very little meat and mostly fat, like: ) with the skin, cut to pieces and fried: Most tourists love it until they hear that they are basically eating fried fat :D
February 5, 201610 yr ^They look like pork scratchings to me, except we eat them covered in salt alongside a pint of beer rather than a healthy salad... edit- Droogba beat me to it. Edited February 5, 201610 yr by bluedave
February 5, 201610 yr Yes, quite similar, but more fat. It's usually eaten with salt and bread. Tomato, paprika or onion is not required and sometimes it's just for the looks.
February 5, 201610 yr Sorry to move away from pork, but I made a beef casserole earlier, I'm considering a master chef appearance.
