Exactly what I'm thinking. If he wants to overhaul the team, backroom staff etc.. Then for the love of god let him do it. The backroom staff we have right now are clearly garbage, especially the one whose in charge of the transfers.

 

Plenty of players need to be let go, both from the first team and our loanees. At least 20 players need to go altogether and I hope it happens. 

Not to mention that OScar nearly went to China for 70m, so we should milk all these players and get as much money as possible and buy QUALITY players who can easily make our first team from the get go, not bench warmers or loan material

The prices were undervalued intentionally. Hence the '+' but I agree. Defensive midfielders are not in abundance at the moment and we would get a lot more.

Granovskaia seems to be a good salesman, but she f**ked up the Stone's transfer, acted like an amateur, way too slow and too disrespectful.

I get that there's always going to be a rush to write players off so people can say they saw it coming, but the guy is immensely talented and still the most promising young defender in this league. I'd have loved to have seen him develop under Jose, but I still think he could be the ideal defender for Conte if he fulfils that Bonucci-role.

 

Bonucci also made errors at Juve though, as all defenders do. But his ability on the ball and his eye for a pass was considered far too valuable a thing to ignore and if you want an example of what effect that can have then watch the 3-0 match from 2012.

Currently he's going through a rough patch. That's on him, nevertheless i think Martinez could have handled him better, benching him for fun, a 21 year old... confidence isn't high!

I think we all saw in september in the away game against Everton what the boy is capable of.

Cahill should be our Dante, meaning central back number 4, which leaves us with Zouma (injury leaves doubts, because he's relying very much on his physical strengths, imo) and hopefully Christensen next season.

Therefore i think we need another defender.

Some might think a more experienced guy, someone like Hummels would be better, but i think Stones already has what it takes.

Lowballing them, letting the saga play out and then getting to a point where Everton wouldn't do business on 'moral' grounds is pretty much textbook for how to screw up negotiations though isn't it?

I'm not sure where you're getting this £50 million figure from. Have you got a link because the stories that were widely circulated were that we had a number of bids rejected, starting at £20 million and then increasing by at least 50%.

 

That's basically like you putting your house on the market at £300K and having someone throw in a bid of £200K to test the water. It's ridiculous.

It's not new to think that Emenalo was under-experienced and over-promoted, and I'm worried that Roman might have made the same mistake with Granovskaia. 

Listening to a Chelsea podcast, Phil Daniels said that the Stones transfer broke down because of Jose. He didn't say exactly what happened but Kenwright had some issue with Jose. Daniels is good mates with Kenwright and told him personally.

I think there's more to the story than the club low balling.
