March 29, 201610 yr Conte is quite arrogant too isn't he? I would absolutely love him to come here and through sentiment out the window and have a huge clear out. Matic would generate a lot of money based on reputation. 15m+ Oscar would also generate a good return 20m+ Cahill is English and plays for the national team. 10+ Remy and a lot of loanees can go too. Let Conte bring in his own squad and his own back room staff and start from the beginning. A new era. Exactly what I'm thinking. If he wants to overhaul the team, backroom staff etc.. Then for the love of god let him do it. The backroom staff we have right now are clearly garbage, especially the one whose in charge of the transfers. Plenty of players need to be let go, both from the first team and our loanees. At least 20 players need to go altogether and I hope it happens. Not to mention that OScar nearly went to China for 70m, so we should milk all these players and get as much money as possible and buy QUALITY players who can easily make our first team from the get go, not bench warmers or loan material
March 29, 201610 yr Maybe a swoop for Veratti? Conte certainly likes him. http://www.football-italia.net/79584/conte-‘italy-need-verratti-leadership’ Hell no, Kanté for for Conte! :)

March 29, 201610 yr 15 Mill is cheap for matic, we paid 21 for him and for a season and half he was one of the best center mids in the world. The prices were undervalued intentionally. Hence the '+' but I agree. Defensive midfielders are not in abundance at the moment and we would get a lot more. However, for his performance this season - 15m would be a miracle.

March 29, 201610 yr I could take some heart from this if we at least played decent, but we haven't, in he first half nobody seemed to know what they were doing and this half nobody has turned up. Even international breaks won't give me a break from sh*te football, this Euros is going to be a disaster.
March 29, 201610 yr His Italy are being destroyed. I'm not a huge Conte or Italy fan but this was a friendly. It does not matter. At all.

March 30, 201610 yr A comment so stupid I hope you are actually a child. Why? Because Emenalo is class? There has to be given credit to him because the likes of KdB, Lukaku, Courtois, Musonda were money well spent, but why on god's green earth does he consistently bring players in who the managers clearly not favour? Jose didn't rate Papy, Guus doesn't rate Pato, one could have gotten these impressions long before due to their acting in the media. Granovskaia seems to be a good salesman, but she f**ked up the Stone's transfer, acted like an amateur, way too slow and too disrespectful. You're well known on Talkchelsea for your hatred towards Jose, don't like it but the man made mistakes. But you should blame others too, do you really think some major overhaul in management wouldn't be a good choice? Why should we deny someone like Conte to bring in his own team, especially a new technical director?
March 30, 201610 yr Watching stones I think she got the stones transfer perfectly correct. I get that there's always going to be a rush to write players off so people can say they saw it coming, but the guy is immensely talented and still the most promising young defender in this league. I'd have loved to have seen him develop under Jose, but I still think he could be the ideal defender for Conte if he fulfils that Bonucci-role. Bonucci also made errors at Juve though, as all defenders do. But his ability on the ball and his eye for a pass was considered far too valuable a thing to ignore and if you want an example of what effect that can have then watch the 3-0 match from 2012.
March 30, 201610 yr Watching stones I think she got the stones transfer perfectly correct.Currently he's going through a rough patch. That's on him, nevertheless i think Martinez could have handled him better, benching him for fun, a 21 year old... confidence isn't high! I think we all saw in september in the away game against Everton what the boy is capable of. Cahill should be our Dante, meaning central back number 4, which leaves us with Zouma (injury leaves doubts, because he's relying very much on his physical strengths, imo) and hopefully Christensen next season. Therefore i think we need another defender. Some might think a more experienced guy, someone like Hummels would be better, but i think Stones already has what it takes. Turning to Granovskaia: Starting around 20 mio. fine, but penny pinching.. bad idea. This desaster set the things in motion, Champions of England and cup winners under the watch of Jose Mourinho, but not able to pull this one off. Showed our opponents how weak we have become, never recovered. The coach has to be trusted and demanding who he wants, he sticks his head out for this, it's all about results and he's the first one to get the boot when sh*t hits the fan... I think Granovskaia and the board got it very wrong, neither Papy nor Baba have been brilliant thus far. What good is money for you when you don't spend it? Regards and sorry for the English! March 30, 201610 yr Hummels would be ideal. I think the problem is that every criticism that has been thrown at Stones could probably be levelled at Hummels too.
March 30, 201610 yr Watching stones I think she got the stones transfer perfectly correct. A good prospect but way overrated and ridiculously over valued.

Just don't think its 50 mil worth of promise and failing (or not trying) to do a deal at 50 mil is fine with me. Not a very good event to use to knock Granovskaia with. Refusing to go to 50, 2.5 times our initial bid is not penny pinching. Regards and sorry for the English! Your english is pretty good. Edited March 30, 201610 yr by Stim

Refusing to go to 50, 2.5 times our initial bid is not penny pinching. Lowballing them, letting the saga play out and then getting to a point where Everton wouldn't do business on 'moral' grounds is pretty much textbook for how to screw up negotiations though isn't it? I don't just blame her because I think the club is rotting from the top down, but she's a classic case of someone who doesn't seem to be held to account. It's nice that we're charitable enough to give people like her and Emenalo a go at playing grown-ups but at some point daddy has to wonder whether he's right to let the kids have the keys to his Porsche.
March 30, 201610 yr I honestly have no clue about the negotiations bar Evertons PR spin so I don't really bother considering it. We look bad based on the medias reports? shocking. We all know how bullsh*t Evertons 'morals' are. It's just as likely that they tried to get more money so Chelsea told them no and to save face after losing out on a more realistic 30 or so million they tried to paint Chelsea as the bad party. Their 'moral reasons' built on the foundation of lies and hypocrisy. We wont know. All we know is we refused to pay 50 mil and rightly so. her and Emenalo a go at playing grown-ups but at some point daddy has to wonder whether he's right to let the kids have the keys to his Porsche. I'm not sure where you're getting this £50 million figure from. Have you got a link because the stories that were widely circulated were that we had a number of bids rejected, starting at £20 million and then increasing by at least 50%. That's basically like you putting your house on the market at £300K and having someone throw in a bid of £200K to test the water. It's ridiculous. Is this a joke or what It's not new to think that Emenalo was under-experienced and over-promoted, and I'm worried that Roman might have made the same mistake with Granovskaia.
March 30, 201610 yr Listening to a Chelsea podcast, Phil Daniels said that the Stones transfer broke down because of Jose. He didn't say exactly what happened but Kenwright had some issue with Jose. Daniels is good mates with Kenwright and told him personally. I think there's more to the story than the club low balling. Edited March 30, 201610 yr by JM7
