I've always been a fan of Draxler. Lived in Germany with a bunch of Schalke fans when he was there. I say grab him and Mustafi, get a little German thing going at the club!

Have to agree that our focus should be on signing a new defence not on getting lukaku. However if we do both, then that works too.

I hope they ask for 100 million so we stop with this stupid pursuit of a player who will not improve Chelsea one bit ( just my opinion ).

If we sell Costa go for Lacazette or Gabriel Barbosa. And start bloody focusing on defence we are two weeks away from PL kick off and our defence looks like a Swiss Schweitzer.

Lacazette for 40-45 million would be great ( in today's market). We should get minimum 60 million for Costa if he is going, Everton has new rich owners so if they sell Stones hope they block any move for Lukaku

it's a bit odd how everyone wants lacazette and he's only had one good season in france, is a few years older than lukaku. lukaku on the other hand has proven himself in the premier league since his loan spell at west brom. 

I think maybe it's because we see Lukaku all season long and know he's a very average footballer especially with the ball at his feet.

I've not seen much of Lacazette but when I have done he looks like he has good technique, that and he's not quoted at over £50 million.

Either way though we will suffer if we lose Costa and replaced with either of those players IMO.

I don't want Lukaku back either. If we buy him and don't sort out our defence I'll be livid. I have a feeling that Conte thinks he can work a little magic with the defenders we already have, and suddenly will start challenging for titles again. Won't happen.

After studying and working with our squad for almost a month, it seems Conte's priority is to strengthened our attack. Looks like he is happy with the defensive options he has. Well, we still have Kennedy and Cuadrado who both can play SB, so less see how Conte experiments with our defenders.

It doesn't have anything to do with the fact he was our player. ManU is buying Pogba back, Barca bought Cesc a few years back, Torres went back to Atletico, Costa is rumored to go back to Atletico. I think it is safer to buy a player back who you already know. However it is not as simple as that.

Lukaku's numbers are good. I just think he is the most underwhelming 75m player ever. Forget Sutton, Sheva or Torres Lukaku is worth 40m at most. He is a bit one-dimensional.

Surely it shows just how good our scouts are that they found Lukaku and De Bruyne when they were youth? If anything it shows how bad Mourinho was that he got rid of them.

I've no issue selling Costa if he does want to leave and not fight for the cause.

My issue is paying double what we paid for Costa on a big lump with very little ability.

I remember Lukaku stating that his deepest desire was to emulate his hero, Didier Drogba, that his aim was to become a Chelsea legend.

 

As it turned out that Lukaku wasn't prepared to stay and fight for his place. Not only that but the early promise never materialised. His touch is as poor as ever, his hold up play, his footballing brain, have shown little or no improvement during his time at Everton.

 

If we were to re-sign Lukaku, I'd give him my support, as I would any Chelsea player, putting aside - temporarily at least - the eagerness with which he jumped ship, my annoyance at the club for splashing out an exorbitant fee that could undoubtedly be better spent elsewhere.

 

Romelu Lukaku, a lumbering oaf, a legend in his own mind. That's how I see him. If we do re-sign Lukaku, I can only hope against hope that I am very, very wrong.
