Romelu Lukaku

And this is why Dion Dublin now presents tv property programmes.

Basically he's saying Lukaku picked Manure because we got rid in the first place. Who was our manager at the time, Dion?

Former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin believes Romelu Lukaku may have rejected Chelsea this summer due to a desire for ‘a change’ after being snubbed by them in the past.

I think him being a lazy sod will drive miurinho to clash with him, he likes everyone to run. However I think mou not being a good attacking coach is a roumour that stuck but is incorrect, defensive football is something that worked for Chelsea and inter, he certainly doesn't mind sitting back, but usually when an opposing team is more creative, it's a tactic that works, however  when he was at Real Madrid the attacking football was incredible his team scored the highest goal tally in la liga history and then beat it the following year, I think it was 120 goals. But again I would agree there are better attacking coaches out there and his determination to have attackers track back can detract from their freedom to express their attacking talents, I think him and Lukaku are a bad fit, I'm surprised Mou went in for him tbh

I din't mean that all his teams are defensive. I meant that they are maaaaany more examples that indicate that he is a better nurturer of defensive talents than attacking ones.

If he was an NFL coach he'd be the defensive coach not the attacking co-ordinator.

Been hard to take pro United news seriously since these beauty's.

March time it looked inevitable that Greizmann was going to United with Zlatan signing a new deal, now instead of those 2 they will likely start the season with Perisic and Lukaku. As soon as the Euphoria of " screwing us over" dies down they will realize that and be severely underwhelmed.

I bumped into my Everton supporting colleague today and said "you really mugged United didn't you".  She laughed and said she couldn't believe they had paid so much for "that donkey".   We both agreed he had been overpriced at £28m when we sold him and she said that all the Everton ST holders were prepared to pay his bus fare to leave.

I didn't want him to return and certainly not for anywhere near what was quoted for him.

I think (and hope) that we dodged a bullet here.  But, at the same time, I realise he has scored a lot of goals.  He is a bit of an enigma really.

I really do not understand why all the fuss about the price tag. Honestly, it's just money and in today's football these numbers have become pretty standard. Besides that, United are stupid rich, so losing a few millions won't be a problem.

It's not like they paid Everton in points. That would've been a worrying investment for their fans, but otherwise...

I just hope that he doesn't deliver.

I wanted him to stay when he was here and was disappointed that he didn't stay to fight for a place in the team.  If he had I reckon he would have broken through as our options up front at the time were limited to say the least.  But as I said, while he does seem to get the goals, he just doesn't look good to me, clumsy and petulant and expects everything to be handed to him on a plate.  Didn't want him back at any price - the price wasn't the stumbling block as far as I was concerned, it was the player but the price just made it worse.

Like you, I hope I'm right.  Players can change according to the team they're in.

I rate Lukaku a lot but I hope and think he can flop at united. As for Perisic am scared he will adapt easily and improve them significantly.

We play with one striker and I thought José prefer about 2 or 3 strikers over him. Signing Eto simply shows José doesn't want Lukaku at all. I wanted Lukaku to stay but if I were him with the quality he has I will also move to another team to keep my place in the national team.

Don't think he would have gone ahead of Eto'o, certainly not for the big games. Torres and Ba he would have gazumped relatively quick.

Wasn't Eto signed after Lukaku left though?  I may be wrong.  But I think he would've got some games if he'd stayed.  He was having a good pre-season, then missed that penalty and seemed to panic and wanted reassurance of first team football and insisted on leaving to get it.  His time would've come I'm sure.

Tbh I really liked Lukaku when he was here, I was gutted he didn't see much game time but as soon as he left I've disliked him ever since then. He needs to be the big fish in a small pond to feed his ego, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on at United, especially if Zlatan returns.
