I read Palace is bidding 27M+ for Bentake, that's the kind of crazy price going around these days. It's not just the so called Rich clubs are doing that, it's Palace for god sake. Next thing we know Leeds United will be bidding 20M for Ballotali.

Because despite this seasons 'blip' we are a consistently better team than spuds.
With Manure, Citeh, and us all strengthening this closed season they will return to there residual 5th - 7th place next season.
I've never known a team to win f**k all and give it the biggun so much !!

He's going to be a wealthy man whichever choice was made.

He's young too, and now at a terrific club which will very likely regain its CL status whilst he's there.

It reminds me a little of when Lucas Neill went to West Ham over Liverpool for an extra 15k a week - the sacrifice of career ambition for money. Not, I think, a useful trait.

I don't think footballers care where they play as long as they aren't in a dilapidated cesspool.

 

Michy was clearly thinking long term with this move. Who has the better odds to be playing CL football next season and the year after? Chelsea or Spurs? I'd venture Spurs won't break the top four for the foreseeable future with Liverpool having a full year of Klopp, Manure surely being better, City and Arsenal being City and Arsenal, and Leicester + West Ham putting out strong sides. Conte led Chelsea on the other hand? I'd put my money on that making the top four year in, year out.

I don't know where the evidence is for that; when do we have intimate financial knowledge of competing offers? I'd like to think happiness was at least as important as money, once they're earning the sort of money that'll mean they're made for life (if not before).
