Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea

I feel like wishful thinking transverses both genders.

In this case.... mmmmm, probably better not

But in general that is a very profound observation.

The main thing about him is he is great with both feet. Don't remember the last striker we had like that.

It's a huge advantage over the defenders as they know they cant push him onto a weaker foot because he doesn't have one.

I actually think Costa doesn't get enough credit for how strong he is with both feet , he freely scores with either

Maybe he should start scoring some goals outside of the penalty area then.

RVN didn't really score from outside the box , nor did liniker both amazing strikers , great to have a drogba or Henry of you can get one but doesn't detract from the fox in the box capabiltys

General play impresses me.

Hoepfully he relaxes in front of goal as he's fluffed his lines a few times. First goal should do the trick. Hopefully against Milan.

Hes already scored his first 2 chelsea goals, albeit against a lower league Austrian side.

Why not? It's part of pre season like the other games.

Mentally it wont be a 'monkey' off his back until he does it in a 'proper' game.

But listen if you think thats helped fair enough. I'm sure it didnt do no harm. I'm just saying he fluffed his lines on 2 occasions when sent through, but a goal will settle him down.

Come on, behind closed door friendlies dont count.

It was a competitive game, what level of team does it count for then?

8-0 Against an Austrian Lower league team that doesn't even have a wiki page. With no crowd, on a training ground. Personally I would say thats not competitive and also there would be little pressure.

Mentally im saying the monkey will be off his back, like any striker joining a new club, when he scores his first competitive goal.

Yeah I agree. He needs to hit the ground running in the PL, just as Costa did. But hopefully he doesn't get suspended/injured as often as Costa.

I like him, he made some good runs against Madrid, should have scored one and marginally offside on few other occasions. For a long time we haven't had a striker that tries to run through the channel consistently at speed. Costa was like that in his first season, but the niggling and suspensions definitely slowed him down. I predict he will have a solid season with 15 - 20 goals.

How do you know if them goals havent got the monkey of his back, they could easily give him all the confidence in the world. Is it any different that n preseason against an English non league side, which weve done many times and had players score in. For a striker a goals a goal, they dont care who its against or when.

Its his runs that caught my eye, taking defenders all over the pitch and constantly looking to get in behind without being caught offside. He looks an intelligent player that can hold his position on a defenders shoulder then go, and he seems to have enough pace to make use of that.

They might well have given him the upmost confidence, however he didn't seem composed when sent through against Madrid. Hence why I've said once he's got a goal or two in sure he will convert them chances with ease, like he was in France last season.

Im not knocking him, like I said I've been impressed overall.

Erm, it wasn't a competitive game. It was a friendly.

The boy looks good but let's wait and see how he performs in the PL.
