Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea

Hopefully he's another Drogba... We'll have to wait and see

Based on my in-depth knowledge of some youtube videos, he looks more like another Kalou.

You can never tell until you see them play for us.

I remember Gomis looked class in France then came over here and looked distinctly average.

This boy looks quick, powerful and likes to shoot. at £33 million it's a big investment so I hope that doesn't play on his mind too much.

The bonus being he is Belgium and has experience with Hazard so hopefully they will have a far better link up than Lukaku seemed to have.

I think one of the main attributes he has going for him is he doesn't mind going shoulder to shoulder with a player. He's put on IG a few times quotes such as 'hit the wall harder than it hits you' and other such things so this should help him with the physicality of the league.

His highlight reels seem to suggest he is more similar to Costa (at Atletico) or Higuain rather than Drogba. Likes to drift central from wide positions and attack the channels, where his athleticism creates a mismatch against fullbacks (strength/size) or centrebacks (speed). The price tag is huge, but probably relative to what we paid for Drogba all those years ago and far cheaper than say someone like Lukaku, who while more proven would probably cost close to double.

Exciting times!

Was scouting him since the beginning of this season, wanted him here and now I'm very happy. I think he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the PL. Having Fabregas, Hazard, Willian around him would make him much better. If we will play with 2 strikers in front, and both of them are going to be in a good form, then I can see us dominant all over the season.

Anyways, I think we signed a good player, wish him the best of luck and successful career here, good luck!

You don't have to have good close control to be a winger though? Players like Hulk and Bale are similar yet are still class winger.. and what 19 year old do you know with good decision making? That's always something that comes with experience. If you think he can learn to defend somehow, he can certainly learn to improve decision making.

Bales technique is very average, he is basically a kick and rush footballer but is just very good at it, and has the athletic skills to play that way, that's why I wouldn't want us to sign him, when he loses his athleticism he will fall off a cliff, probably to the extent Torres did.

Defensive orgonasation is 1000 times easier to learn and be coached over time than the decision making element, you often see defenders especially at full back improving their defending as they grow (Cole was one, for a modern day example Danny Rose, who like Kenedy started as a winger and got moved back for similar reasons I want Robert to be), rarely do you see players with decision making as poor as Kenedys change to the level required, Walcott, SWP and Lennon are still the same headless chickens they were at 19.

It's not gonna be easy but I think this guy might beat Falcao's Chelsea goal tally. Welcome to Chelsea become a hero we need one.

I  . . . hope that is sarcasm . .

Seems to be the sort of forward we need : confident, good body language, a bit of "swagger", realises that the role of a striker is to get in the box and score (judging from that goals compilation clip). He even has the Drogba knee slide celebration pretty off pat as well.

Hope he does alot better than the last "Batman" we had :)

He's going to be a flop, folks, a Spurs fan has spoken. Twice.

Tottenham outsmart Chelsea by preferring Sanabria over Batshuayi

New Chelsea striker will be a flop

According to @sport Tony Sanabria has turned down a big offer from Tottenham to sign for Gus Poyet's Real Betis.

Doesnt someone look a silly little Spurs fan.  Rucker you bellend

I agree, £33m in this day and age is hardly anything. Especially when people are bidding £25m for Troy Deeney and £33.5m for Ighalo. Even teams like Crystal Palace are able to table £30m+ for a player nowdays.

I red a football jounro claim that last year's 25 million, is this years 40 million.  So, if we use that as a measuring stick, he wasn't too bad a signing - cost wise
