It was also the team that came 10th in the league. And considering the fact that the 10th position is the closer year and we are on a downward spiral, I would see it is AN ATROCIOUS line up. 

Did not einstein say that expecting a different outcome while doing the same thing is foolish (or something of the same order).

Completely understandable that Conte's gone with this lineup; in his first competitive game against a fierce rival who have just come off a very strong season (for them) you'd expect him to go with the tried, trusted and physical players with the most experience over two youngsters without a single first-team appearance between them.

 

My only major disappointment is Chalobah's complete omission from the squad; in my eyes he deserved a place on the bench at least.

Sorry mate, the ball kicks off and I will be totally behind the team, but its my opinion that we have put in a sh*t team again. Playing ivanovic STILL after the last season is a joke. Playing the hopelessly sh*t and consistent oscar over Cesc is awful.

Its a strange one, on the one hand oscar gets a start because he did well in preseason, but then chalobah and aina dont get starts despite impressing.

Im most disappointed that Fabregas isnt starting though, i know its meant to be a fresh start for the players this season, but matic and oscar shouldnt be in the team ahead of him, especially as both have been poor for 18 months.

Still none of it matters as long as we put in a decent performance and get the win, i just think we are relying on players that we unreliable last season, so it makes me apprehensive to say the least.

Relax mate. In Pre-Season there wasnt much between Oscar and cesc. And if theres one game Ivanovic will do ok, its physically against Carroll and co.

Very attacking bench as well with Fabregas, two wingers and two centre forwards.
