No matter what happens in final week of the window, heads should roll

Featured Replies

I think it is very reasonable to hold the club to account for last seasons debacle in the 2015 summer transfer window.

But I can't really say this transfer window has been unsuccessful until the end of the season, if Michy and Kante help us get top four you would have to say it's been a good window, if we win the league we will look back and think it was a blinding bit of work getting those two in.

All 'if's' for now.

I just wish we had visibility of what is going on and how close, if at all we are to signing anyone. Any one have a crystal ball knocking about?

You are just making things up and inserting Rumours as facts while dismissing the opinions of others are baseless.

Show me proof that Rudiger and Bonucci were first choices for the club.

Typical of you Argo aka Tomo the board apologist !

Ahh, you are the United fan right?

Boosted the Defence? I beg to differ. Two goals were conceded against the mighty Bristol Rovers. What cock are you babbling about?

You do realise the main player who i mentioned boosted the defense wasn't playing, right?

What the feck are you muttering about? United fan? I only know that you are a board fan.

Still does not explain the lack of clean sheets.

Let's see what excuses you have up your sleeve if the board fails to sign any defenders. You'll still claim they are going great guns despite shafting the manager and fans two summers in a row.

This club just simply doesn't learn from its mistakes, in any regard. You'd think after failing so hard in every respect last season, and panic buying a load of nobodies, we would have gone in hard and fast to secure what we needed this year, but no.

BUT BUT BUT, we are "trying" to buy defenders.

:laugh2:

That's what the board apologists repeatedly rams down our throats as if the board trying has any positive effect. The end result is only one thing - setting up Conte for failure. What's worse is that defenders were allowed to leave with possibly no incoming replacements.

Anyone who can defend such an action is truly no fan of tChelsea FC and must be a troll.

You username on TC is an ex Man.United player and you do nothing but slag of the club, rather suspicious don't you think?

Also you disappeared after the Kante signing so if hypothetically Kalidou is holding a Chelsea shirt next Thursday I'm guessing we won't see you for dust until our next underwhelming summer, am I right?

Last summer I didn't once defended the board actions, it was a horrendous summer and we payed the price in the league but are you really comparing this summer to last?

Are you really telling me you are underwhelmed by the Kante and Batshuayi sigings? We have signed the reason last season's champions were last season's champions and by signing Michy we now have two quality striking options for the first time since the double winning season. A defender arriving is the only thing that's stopping this window being on par with 2012 and 2014, which I hope changes in the next few days of course.

We may not have kept a clean sheet yet but if you can't see the massive difference Kante has already made i don't know what to say.

Damn, you had him for dinner. Whats for dessert?

Threads like this are pathetic and embarrassing.

Strange post.

I think the thread title of "No matter what happens in final week of the window, heads should roll" would have been a fair indication of the direction of these posts.

Surely if these are pathetic and embarrassing then why read them?

Having wanted us to go diving into the market for a defender, i must say Marcos Alonso  :face_palm: . Doesn't anybody else get the feeling that Emenalo has just rented a Villa in Italy for the last two months. Are we looking in any other areas?

You're right, it is born out of frustration from seeing the mistakes of last summer repeat itself - certainly in terms of defensive targets. even up front we're vulnerable should bats or Costa get injured...there is time for me to be left with some egg on my face..,but then again, I see we are now going after a full back that made little impression at Bolton a few years back...is he really better than what we already had but have loaned out? Just reeks of desperation

What team in the league, hell what team in the world arent vulnerable ig their top two strikers are injured?

We've just signed Eduardo as a third choice keeper, the board clearly have no intention of strengthening in the right places, i.e LB and CBs

Lmao. Is this serious? What kind of logic is that?

Didn't you know Chelsea was after Bonucci all summer even though he apparently said no while on international duty. Then Rudiger was a done deal but he got injured before the euros. So as you can see he has had a busy couple of months ;)

Conte says its looking very difficult at this point to obtain our targets. What the hell is he worried about? Clearly we need just one defender and we've shown how good we are at pulling off these late window signings.

What crap are you muttering about? Did you type this in a looney bin and assume everyone who disagrees with you is a utd fan? What idiocy.

I am completely unimpressed by the summer's transfer deals even with the signing of Kante. If the board doesn't fix the defense, we know the consequences except you. In all likelihood, you could well be paid by the board to defend its pathetic actions (or lack of it) in online forums seeing that you spend a lot of time in various forums arguing board is right in not fixing the defense.

Sean Dyche hopefully ;)

C'mon Tomo, show us the evidence that you claimed the board's first choice was Bonucci and then Rudiger.

I'm waiting.....

So it's a coincidence you refer to yourself as Bellion and there is an ex Man.United player named David Bellion?

Did i ever say they were right? Please quote me in that, the difference is i can acknowledge when they have got things right, we could sign Messi and Bonnuci this Wednesday and you're still call them clueless because they didn't sign a left back.

What I find hilarious are that the same fans who would back Jose to death and saying "where were you when we were sh*t/try being a fan in the 70s/80s and realise how good you have it" are the same ones constantly moaning about our board not splashing silly money on defenders. The blatant hypocrisy is beyond belief.

Yes the cb position is priority but be grateful that we've signed Batman and Kante. This is nothing like last season as for starters Conte is going about his job the right way and not throwing club demoralizing hissy fits because we haven't signed a cb.

The funniest part is all of this is that we clearly have attempted to sign cbs but bids are being rejected. Moreover, I bet no one on here had heard of them 12 months ago and yet I see people moaning like spoilt brats because we haven't blown 50 or 70m that these Italian clubs would allow them to leave for.

For all we know these defenders could turn out no better than Papy yet cost 10 times more. The board are right to use common business sense in this ridiculous market.

use the right common business sense when we are doomed if we cant achieve top 4 this season

should we wait a couple decades to let the market cool down a bit before we make our 'common business sense' to buy some players we needed?

The market would just go more and more ridiculous, the money is coming in every year, even mid-table to relegation club would splash 30m on a player nowadays and you would hope the market would rationalized? Well maybe one day something like world war 3 or wall street crash in 1929 happens again, then it might be possible

so what should the board do if the next or the coming years of transfer window is as ridiculous as this one? Saving money like Arsene Wenger and keep blaming market instead of strengthening the positions that we are weak?

Sorry if I've missed them but can you point out the posts where people are moaning about us not slashing silly money on defenders?

What I have seen are posts expressing concern that our defense is actually weaker than last season with 5 days left in the window.

To the posts above...

We are nothing like Arsenal for gods sake. We are not penny pinching and losing out on deals over 1 or 2m. I've seen us make serious bids for a cb all summer but the Italians are playing hard ball. Would you honestly be happy if we just went and spent 70m on Koulibaly????

Its gonna take silly money to sign defenders who could be no better than Papy yet all I see is people whinging.

WE ARE NOT IN EUROPE AND THIS IS NOT FIFA!!!!!
