October 23, 20169 yr 56 minutes ago, just said: How does anyone know what Mourinho whispered to Conte? And why would we care? The level of paranoia over the bloke is unbelievable sometimes. From the Independent: The United boss spoke at length to Conte at the final whistle, with suggestions the Portuguese had been annoyed that the Italian had encouraged the home support to cheer on the Blues when they were already 4-0 up. Reports in Italian media said Mourinho told Conte: "You don't celebrate like that at 4-0, you can do it at 1-0, otherwise it's humiliating for us." And the self-proclaimed Special One insisted the conversation should be private, despite choosing to conduct it in front of 41,000 people and the Stamford Bridge press box. "I speak to Conte, I don't speak to you (the media)," Mourinho said. "It was me and Antonio and stays with me and him. Unless he wants to share." Conte declined to do so. "I've been a player too and I know how to behave," Conte told Sky Italia. "I always show great respect for everyone, including Manchester United. "There was no incident, it was just a normal thing to do. I wasn't mocking anyone, I wouldn't do that." The Chelsea head coach added in his post-match press conference: "Today it was right to call our fans in a moment (when) I was listening (to) only the supporters of Manchester United, at 4-0. "The players, after a 4-0 win, deserved a great clap. It's very normal. Edited October 23, 20169 yr by carrickblue corrupt cut and paste

Right now, I don't recall any wins more satisfying in the past 5 seasons, definitely better than beating Arsenal 6:0 because everyone expected us to win that game. Conte obviously didn't want give Jose anything, he just pushed the players all the way till the end, and rightly gave them a standing ovation. We are playing proper football ( can't say that for the last 18 months), and everyone does the hard work when required. You don't see DeGea get beaten twice in a game very often, let alone 4, and he had wasn't that bad in this game. I'm sure we won't be winning like this every weekend, so I'm going to stop look ahead and just enjoy the win for the next 2 days Just to add: I missed the whole Luiz should be sent off thing, did he kick Zlatan in the balls? Did I watch Matic pass with his right foot to set up Hazard? I meant, that was just unbelievable. He did a Fellaini on Fellaini. (studs to the knee) yellow card nothing more.
October 23, 20169 yr Chelsea 4-0 Man Utd. I'll just leave this here, I'm going to bed. Night all, what a day!
October 23, 20169 yr that was fantastic. everything we could possibly ask for- players who have been off form looking good, a back three with big question marks about them individually working like a unit to answer them, good football and, probably most importantly, the nature of the win and the fact it was over jose. I think if we lost this one then the club would continue to exist under his shadow. when his inter side did a number on us I feel it damaged us, as a fanbase, quite severely. jose is a legend and he always will be. I think he remains a great manager but in finally, six years later, getting a win over him, we can now think of him as a part of our past rather than a cloud that hovers over us. arguably the greatest part of our past, but past nonetheless. he was never coming back for a third time, but psychologically this feels like a watershed moment for us. it does for me anyway. it is also huge for conte, as gary neville touched on, because especially after the liverpool and arsenal games, a big win in a big game should go some way to convincing the players in regards to the managers' ideas.
October 23, 20169 yr It should be noted that despite having a strong bench with experienced players,Conte chose Chalobah as his first change. This is a young player who has clearly gained the managers trust. Maybe at last we have an academy product that has made the leap, hopefully the first of many.
October 23, 20169 yr Just got home...loved being at the bridge today...the performance, the tribute to Matthew Harding...Utd getting spanked...still part of me feels a little sad...stupid I know, but I look at Jose now and don't see him as special any more...the guy is no longer what he was...of course I'm delighted it means Utd will suffer, but I salways find it sad to see whenever a great has lost their magic...

I would rather say, unfortunately he's lost a touch with reality long time ago
October 23, 20169 yr I've gone from being a Jose fan to absolutely hating him in a short space of time. I hope he gets heaps of abuse on our next meet. Be nice to see him fall flat on his face and sacked by Christmas.
October 23, 20169 yr My favourite post match comment (on the BBC web site): "Jose Mourinho can't even blame the result on Chelsea's freshness due to lack of European football as that's his fault as well. " LOL
October 23, 20169 yr What a surprise...match of the day lead off and concentrate their analysis on how sh*t Utd were, not how good we were...same old, same old
October 23, 20169 yr Author Today was a big day, the biggest day in over a year. The day we officially put our name back in the hat as title contenders.
October 23, 20169 yr Meanwhile, Arse, Spurs, Liverpool and city have all been lauded this season, yet we are above Spurs and only behind the others by a point...this while adapting to new manager and a new system... by the way, Conte has not gone five games without a win this season but faced crap from bookies and negative headlines saying he's about to be sacked...Guardiola has not won in five though so expect him to cop it from them instead...or perhaps not Edited October 23, 20169 yr by The Brit

October 23, 20169 yr Couldn't have asked for a better performance. Conte finally found the right system playing 3-4-3. Courtois, Azpi, Luiz, Cahill all solid, Matic back to his best, Moses and Alonso fantastic and Hazard back to his best. Doesn't get much better beating Mourinho 4-0, to think Chelsea fans were supporting him till the end. Conte is much better now.
October 23, 20169 yr I expected this to either be a draw or a tight win (having had to go to bed early), so I was amazed when I woke up this morning to find that the score was 4-0! I would say this was our best overall performance since shellacking Arsenal 6-0 in early 2014 and it sends a massive warning to the rest of the PL. Man U were unexpectedly poor, especially defensively, but we simply played with much more desire and aggression. Conte has far exceeded my expectations. I did not think that he would make this Chelsea side so threatening so quickly, especially not with a 3-4-3 formation - and certainly not with Victor Moses at wingback! Jose has been one of the most outstanding managers of the past 15 years, but although it is premature I suspect that his best may have passed him by. Forget about the Chelsea of last season, this Man U side have been erratic, inconsistent and unconvincing even with the substantial star power in their side (Pogba, Zlatan). I do not think we will better this performance this season, but I look forwards with considerable optimism. A few upgrades here and there and I think we'll be the best side in the PL.
October 24, 20169 yr As good as beating united is they were below us in the table already. I feel relief as well as joy. The real message out of this game is that we are a legitimate chance of a top 4 finish if the key players remain injury free. Conte, and I never doubted him for a second, has put energy and speed back in the team. That's what it takes at this level. Kante, Luiz, Alonso, Moses are all faster and more energetic than the guys they replaced. The formation change is a revelation, really good management.

October 24, 20169 yr Forgot to give a shout out to one of the sh*ttest refs in the game in martin atkinson...the man who failed to spot Ashley Barnes nearly breaking matic's leg last year...on one hand we should thank his ineptitude for not sending Luiz off for that poor challenge...but then again the twat bottled sending Bailly off for a blatant second yellow when he blatantly tripped hazard...it was such a bad non decision Eden was laughing rather than being angry...but worst of all, and what sums up what a complete twat he is, was booking Pedro for his celebration after scoring in the first minute...what a dick...if he was milking in front of Utd fans, you could maybe understand it...but he was at other end of the pitch simply celebrating a goal...ridiculous
October 24, 20169 yr Another thing I just noticed as I watch the game back...can you remember Ibrahimovic moaning about chelsea players acting like babies when he was sent off for psg against chelsea after fouling Oscar last year? He blamed chelsea players for surrounding the ref to get him sent off...anyway, while watching Luiz incident, who was it that ran across to tell atkinson to send Luiz off? A certain Ibrahimovic..his hypocrisy made all the worse as that was his former psg teammate he was trying to get a red card... now I agree luiz's challenge was poor and I think he was lucky to get a yellow..,but still found ibra'S double standards laughable
