who else is feeling more skeptical about winning the league as each fixture approaches?

As carrickblue said in the nearest and dearest thread, Spurs have won 8 league games on the trot for only the third time in their history. The other times they've done that they have won the league.

So now I am feeling even more skeptical.

that's superstitious man

I applaud Spurs, they're making a fantastic race of it and even though it's nervy I am strangely enjoying it. 3 out of the 4 league titles I have seen us win were at a canter. I think when it's going for glory the nerves should be enjoyed and not suffered through. Every team in the country would swap places with us now and worst case scenario is all but one team would swap with us come the end of the season. Think of it this way, we'll at worst finish 8 places better than last season and will be back in the Champions League.

I am certain we will win our 3 home games. I think it is a good thing for us that the first two of them are evening games. It creates more of an "event" type feel and makes slip-ups less likely imo.

So in my eyes we have two away games to get 1 win.

Do not ignore the not insignificant goal difference gap Spurs have opened up. 90 points is the goal.

Yes they are but I think people are over estimating Spurs run in. Arsenal first, what is their record like  in head to heads against the top teams away from home? Pretty poor right? West ham are a poor side this season. A derby game sure, so was tonight and they won that and palace are a much better team than west ham. United? Jose already is short of many players and said his priority is the europa league. Were it at ot and United out of Europe it is different. It is not.

Finally the foxes who have nothing left to play for and hull who may well have nothing left to play for. If they do they lose by the odd goal if they don't they get thrashed.

On paper is their run harder than ours? Yes. I will say this I am sure our 5 opponents will give us a majority of harder games more than Spurs will do.

Lot of doom and gloom here 4 points ahead. Amazing.

First of all, as history as proven, it doesn't matter how sh*t a form Arsenal are in, when they play Spurs, they almost always beat Spurs. Besides, Arsenal have a new found confidence and have been playing 3 at the back the past few games trying to get top 4 so that game at the weekend is even more important for them than it is for Spurs, believe it or not. Arsenal will also want to spoil their party seeing as it's the last NLD at WHL. Don't underestimate that fixture.

West Ham....all you have to do is ask Spurs fans. No matter how bad they're playing, they raise their game several levels when it's time to play Spurs. And they play it in their stadium too, in front of their own fans. You better believe they'll be up for that game.

And yes, Hull will need points on the last day so that is by no means an easy match for them either. Not to mention Leicester has shown this evening that even though they have nothing more to play for, they'd still like to get 3 points.

I think in your effort to express how we're overestimating Spurs' fixtures, you've gone on to underestimate it all. You've also ignored the fact that Spurs have lost a lot of points away from home this season and 3 of their last 5 games are away while we have 3 of our last 5 at home.

Finally, if we focus on ourselves and win all our games (even if we lose to Everton this weekend) nothing Spurs do will matter. They can win their last 5 games with 7-0 scorelines each, it won't matter if we pull out 1-0 wins to close out the season.

I don't see it as doom and gloom. I have mentally given Spurs 89 points. If they drop some then all the better.

Like match-play in golf, always assume your opponent will make it.

Judging by comments from Conte and the boys, that's the mentality they have too. So I don't see any need for panic.

Exactly this. Not doom and gloom I believe we can get the 4 wins we need I just don't see it as a case of 4 gimmie wins for us and one hard game on Sunday and 5 hard games for spurs. If the team looks at Spurs games and thinks that they will drop points and hand it to us we will see more results like palace. We have to believe Spurs will win and make it 13 wins on the trot or the players risk slacking off again.

They are making an unbelievable race of it.  If we don't win the title it will be more of a case of them being outstanding than us "blowing it" because we have been simply amazing this year . The thought of us getting 88 points and not winning the title.....

If we don't win it, it will be us blowing it. Because regardless of how they finish, if we do our jobs, we win it.

I think if we win our 3 home games we are over the line. If spurs pick up all 3 points this weekend then i might start thinking differently but I believe both arsenal and united will take points of them both chasing down very important CL spots, we should all want Jose and united to be dong job on city this week, we need them confident and believing in a top 4 spot.  if spurs drop the 4 i predict the best they can muster is 86, win our 3 home games 87 ... BOSH!!!

Cost coming in to form at the right time hopefully as well, The man is well known to be a bit of a streaky player but he streaks at the right time..

I have Everton down as a loss by the way, but if we pull something of there I think we are across the line.

(PS it was nice to have one day were this sh*t didn't play on my mind)

Its scary times, Spurs have much harder games left compared to us. Our hardest game left in the prem this season is this weekend is against Everton, after that the games are much easier.

Spurs on the other hand have to play Arsenal, Utd and a Leicester who of late have come into good form.

This may sound horrible of me to say but I will gladly kiss my mate's Arsenal shirt if the Gooners take something off the Spuds this weekend...

...actually, no. No, I won't...

...but I might kiss him...

(I should really just stick to making crystal ball predictions).

I think both us and Spurs will drop points before the season finishes.

So Spurs have Arsenal, Utd both of whom are chasing the CL.

West Ham are certainly capable of springing a surprise.

Leicester might decide they owe us one after last season and Hull have a great home record under Silva and are fighting for survival.

I just don't see them winning all their remaining fixtures, most yet not all.

Sounds odd to say but I'd not be as nervous about us 'throwing it away' if it was City this close to us, not fussed about them winning things. I think it's more to do with if we don't win it. y*ds win it instead. And that's just not very Spursy.

Watching Spurs performance against us & Palace I can see us getting more points then Spurs in the last 5 matches never mind them curtailing the 4 point lead we have amassed.

They have 3 away matches remaining and they do not have the best record away from home, they didnt deserve the 3 points last night and most likely should have finished the game with 10 men. Even against Swansea they struggled and if it weren't for Swansea just running out of gas they would have probably dropped points there too.

Even the 2 fixtures they have at home are not a given as I can see them dropping points to Arsenal and Maybe even United

I'm confident we'll at least match Spurs points over the next 5 games.

We have an easier run in, we have 1 very difficult game (everton) and 1 tricky game (WBA) left, both are away from home.

Spurs have 2 very difficult games (Arsenal and Utd) at home and at least 1 tricky game left (leicester) away, both i'd also say Hull, who might need points to survive will be tricky and West Ham, well, theres no such thing as an easy London derby.

Our run in is much easier, even if we lose on Sunday I'm confident we'll get over the lin, I just want us to smash towards the title with 5 wins rather than limping over by a point on the final day but I'd happily take either scenario right now.

We are more than capable of getting 12 points out of 15 to win the league and that's all what's required, of course we are all nervous because we only see what goes on on the pitch. We don't see what goes on in training at Cobham and I bet the Chelsea boys will be full of confidence, chomping at the bit, but not over confident. A lot of these players have played in massive games, finals etc etc. So we must trust in them and Antonio. We have one get out of jail card left and I don't think will waste it or give it up easily. But as supporters (not fans) our support has to be better than its ever been.

So it's important that we do our job in the stands, so let's stick together stay loud and help finish the job in style, good luck to us all and keep the faith.

It's getting nervy, but once we get Everton out the way we'll be fine. Don't see us dropping any points after that one, and Spurs have some hard games to come.

Poch keeps saying that Spurs have improved their mentality since last season but where's the proof? They bottled it in FA cup. To me that shows me that they will slip it when it matters most.

They also bottled it in the Champions league

Before the FA Cup semi-final I was so sure beating them would settle me and we would march on the title. But Im back to being nervy again. Im going predict us to win 3-1 at Everton. Somebody has to.

Also, Hate them or not, I respect the y*ds playstyle and character. They are formidable this half of the season.

Still, they should mind the gap!

double double double,  John Terry will win the double.  And the sh1t from the lane will win f@&k all again,  but John Terry will win the double.

Have faith.  We are the Chelsea.  And spurs are bottlers.
