"This is gonna be a lesson in football for them"

Yes they were man for man better. Your attitude suggests we're an inferior side when we are not. We SHOULD dominate spurs, not for the whole game, bu said for parts. And we didn't. We were on the back foot even when we were level. Don't be so deluded.

Please tell me who in Spurs team was better than Kante, Hazard, Luiz, Alonso, Courtois to mention just a a few.

I don't think I'm being deluded, we got the better of them on more than a few occasions, I thought Spurs were the better team, but we deserved to win the game. I'm not trying to suggest we're an inferior side, but Spurs have been playing the best football in the league and we can't expect to dominate them. We did match them for large parts of the game, Spurs only took control when they equalised for the second time, unless I was watching a different game, though they didn't create enough and we took advantage. As I said though, I agree with you as far as needing to strengthen, for now I'm just going to enjoy this result.

I think I must be one of the only ones on here who thinks Mati? is nowhere near as bad as he is made out to be. For the most part, I feel he has had a great season. I've been going crazy at times thinking "what is about him that impresses me so much? Why don't I see what everyone else apparently sees?" He's had his ordinary games, like everyone this season, but I feel he tends to be the scapegoat whenever things aren't going as planned. Obviously, I respect others' opinions. Anyway, great goal today, Mati?.

Saving the best for last, what a win that was! Hopefully it deflates Tottenham. All we really need is one game where it drops points. I salute you, lads. Man of the match for me was Kanté.

Tbh Chelsea didn't create any chances till the game opened up after Hazards goal. At one point it was 10 corners to 0.

I don't give a crap though :).

True, but is getting ten corners really creating chances? I guess so, but they didn't count for anything, we were just more clinical.

Also, I think it's worth noting, I thought Batshuayi done very well today considering he was feeding off scraps.

His hold up play and technical ability looked a level above Costa today IMO. It didn't do anything to quell my confusion at his lack of playing time this season.

so, Cahill or Ake for the next match?

Ake was (somewhat) at fault for the first equalizer, so it dents his performance, but I think overall a solid performance from him today. I wouldn't mine giving him a start if I was Conte

Assuming you mean Luiz. He was my second choice after Kanté, with Aké around the mark as well.

It's the same chances as getting a pen and free kick I guess but just a needless tackle from the opposition player. 10 corners is a lot though. I don't think Spurs created to much and Chelseas defence was superb specially the back 3. For Ake to come in and play like he did was a big credit to him specially on the same side with Alonso who didn't look at his best. Luiz was immense I have got to say.

Im a big fan of Ake and he played really well specially when others like Matic, Alonso and Pedro who play week in an week out was very poor. Problem with Matic is he plays in a essential place in the side. I feel Fabregas would of been better suited.

He's still young, but it's worth blooding him this year. A three of Christensen - Luiz - Ake with Zouma with a full pre season under his belt is a very exciting prospect.

sorry I don't get what you're saying? I was talking about the first equalizer, Ake was marking Kane right before the goal but lost him

He would of enjoyed the end of the game with more space and playing with Fabregas and Hazard.

I hardly think we failed miserably, the ref gave yellows to them long after it didn't matter, their 2nd goal was from a dive awarded by the Lino who shouldn't call that. Sometimes things just don't go your way suck it up and move on

I agree with Jenas. Absolutely no denying who the better team were and if we're honest that must be worrying for Chelsea fans?

Absolutely delighted to win and that's all that matters but with no bias I would be gutted as a spurs fan. They dominated the ball and man for man were better. We scored from 3 set pieces and a freak goal. I really don't wanna see our fans really gloat that we were the better team because we wasn't. I know this post will get a bit of stick but if you look at the game from a neutral we were inferior.

Changes needed in the summer.

No stick here, but I disagree. Felt the possession Spurs enjoyed was tactical from Conte. They may have had possession but we pressured them all day when they had it. We pressed high, low and everywhere. We challenged most every pass outside the first 15 minutes of second half and then Costa and Hazard came on. It all changed from there.

Conte's XI came out active and energized, disrupting Spurs attack. Genuis by Antonio.

Other than the second Spurs goal, we were glued to them. How many open unmarked looks did they have? Very few.

As the BBC post match commentator said, Chelsea dominated everything except possession.

Give Tottenham some credit. Similar to Liverpool a few years ago with Suarez, they are high flying. We did well to hold them. They must have had a 100 corners.

I was pleased with our press, pace and most of all result!

Come on you Chelsea!!

Ha ha. You're right, sorry. Read your quote wrong. Somehow thought you were saying "Cahill or Aké for man of match." Don't ask me how I got there. It's 4.30 in the morning here in Oz. Apologies for the confusion.

In answered to your question, I would be happy with either Cahill or Aké in the next match.
