Ah nothing better than beating those c**ts :) hopefully that gives us the confidence to get over the line for the title and hopefully the double! UTC

Anything Chelsea do, or have done since Roman came in is hollow anyway. I can always take comfort in that fact.
Everything in their history is on his blood money and their plastic fans who, like Citeh, will disband when the richboys get bored

Just seen this this on the fighting cock. Do teams honestly still think Roman is going to get bored and pack up pmsl.

It amazes me other club supporters continue to throw out the tired old "you ain't got no history, bunch of plastics, etc". :indifferent0018:

Roman has owned the club almost 15 years. The six years prior to his ownership were pretty good and Chelsea were already on the rise. The Bridge was being upgraded to a fantastic venue to watch football live, Premier League TV money was beginning to kick in with large sums, etc. Roman may have expedited the success in 2005 and 2006, but honestly, how can ANY of the big six clubs whine about plastics, buying trophies, etc? They all have similar/equal resources, new stadiums (here or on their way), massive kit sponsorship deals, tremendous international followings and the like. Anyone checked out the ownership cash behind Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, etc? Not to mention the cash king of Man United. If you are a Burnley, Bournemouth or any other small English club, I can understand the frustration perhaps.

For Tottenham supporters to talk plastics, etc is just ignorant, jealousy and reeks of being poor losers that they are. It is as stupid as Arsenal fans when they do it, which is absolutely laughable. The Gooners have had the same resources to do everything Chelsea has, but they have chosen not to most times. Their fans should be shouting at their owners not at Chelsea.

I chuckle at this rhetoric. My Arsenal and Liverpool friends throw it out occasionally to me. I return their shouts with laughs and trophies!! :laugh2::biggrin:

I have news for Spuds. Chelsea has become a worldwide brand. If Roman sold tomorrow, the financial backing has been set in motion for success for years to come. We are in London. We have a new stadium on the way. We have a massive international following. We WIN trophies!! We OWN London, get over yourself.

One last thing. At what point does the no history line fade into oblivion? I think it has to be close, if not here already. If we go on to win the double this year, what would it be in the last TWENTY years? 5 Premier League Titles, 7 FA Cup Titles, 4 League Cup Titles, 1 Champions League Title and 1 Europa League Title. That looks like a pretty good history and winning tradition to me!!

Keep the Blue flag flying high.

Come on you Chelsea!! :bluescalf::bluescalf:

I am truly ecstatic with this win. It will do wonders to confidence in our run in at the PL.

Great team work, great to shake off Spurs and the ghost of United, and I hope we don't meet them in the finals!

Really proud performance. And Matic, what a stunner!

Elated! In terms of how the game was played, was not surprised at all. Knew they were going to outplay us through large parts of the game which they did. They done it at WHL and at the Bridge too. However Conte being the excellent manager he is, neutralised them from having any CCC. Apart from the 2 goals they scored and the one glaring header they did not really threaten us with serious efforts on goal. Luiz and Ake were brilliant. What a game for Ake to come into and he handled himself so well. Made a couple brilliant slide challenges.

Think in the long run going forward we need to have a Dembele type of player next to Kante. Because it was painful to watch at times to see us outplayed like that and when we play other top teams with that big game experience, it will cost us sometime and we need more control of the ball. So much times today, the team looked scared of holding on to the ball and would resort to booting it up field. Tottenham on other hand were so confident on ball. Something I hope Conte is looking to address because I don't want to see us get outplayed like this when we are in the UCL next season and play other top teams.

Hazard proved again why he is a big game player. Completely changed the game with a goal and assist. I was always thinking to myself as long as we are not losing by time Hazard comes on, the game would sway into our favour. Spurs don't have any game changers like that. Will give them credit though. Poch has built a fantastic football team down there and are getting stronger and stronger. Just need some stronger depth and they will pose a huge problem going forward.

Anyway, we made it to final. Let's have a perfect ending to the season by getting that double :bluescalf: :bluescalf:

Not much is being made of the Alli stamp on Luiz. If you are running and expect to land your foot on grass but land on something solid like a stone or a human leg you would turn round to see what it was - weather it is wembley or tooting bec common (but thats more likely to be dog turd there). Alli just continues to walk away like the experienced thief does from the scene of the crime.
It will not get the same coverage as Costa crimes which we have to live with. And I take back all my comments and thoughts about Matic as he caused  an unexpected hug from my 22 year old son... very nice.

As for Jenas - it seems you shouldn't count really good goals like Matic, well Kanes header was supposedly brilliant and so was the pass from Erickson so they dont count, the free kick from Willian was a bit special and the penalty was soft so rub them out as well. That just leaves the goal from Hazard which was just fairly ordinary so it was just a 1-0 win then.

I've had a good read of that Spud forum thread, and it's genuinely staggering.

Vile insults aimed at us, CFC and fellow Spud posters. You cannot give any credit to the opposition or criticise Spurs on there or you get banned!

I know there are a few posters on here who are regarded as 'WUM's' sometimes and certain threads (Jose) bring out the niggly worst in us now and again, but Christ...this place is social media Utopia compared to that cesspool of a site.

read that costa went straight to the tunnel after the final whistle, didn't celebrate with the players on the pitch / thank the supporters

either he's late for his mandarin class/ he got a knock? either way bats deserve to start on tuesday i thought he did well

I'm still buzzing after this win, I hope the players are feeling the same way the fans are.

What I loved Pre-match was how overconfident the Spurs fans were and media that they were gonna win. Reminds me of when we beat Liverpool 2-0 back in the 13-14 season. It was a formality before the game for some people and a question of how many they would score. Well I knew we were gonna win today, when Chelsea get written off we always do the business!

Spurs fans would feel confident, they are playing well and have some excellent players. They are also the in form team and for those reasons its probably why some pundits picked them. Cup is the cup though and form doesn't mean a lot though. TBH with my recent betting history form hasn't done a lot for me fullstop.

I think your missing the point from Jenas. Chelsea did defend very well but Spurs was the more offensive team. Spurs had more possession but that happens when Chelsea are a counter attacking team and you have to be with Matic and Kante in the same team. What Jenas was saying is apart from the first 15mins Chelsea was on the back foot for the majority of the game which is the way I saw it. Go by the match thread at the time and it seems like it was too but of course a win changes all that ;)

What Jenas is saying is that Chelsea didn't create anything from open play which is true really. A free kick, pen, maybe the corner and regarding Matics goal he is saying that's the kind of wounder goal Matic will never score again and Spurs could do nothing about. TBH it summed up the match when he was awful and then scored that goal. I get what his saying because Chelsea in the past have not done alot in cup games and big league games but Drogba would pull one out the bag from no where.

On a personal note.

My oldest son and I jumped up from our chairs and shouted YES !!! at exactly the same moment when Hazard scored our third yesterday.

Great moment for me.

Oh and they haven't beaten us twice in a season since 1970/71 !

Great fact and long may it continue.
