Mahrez has had one good season EVER. and Draxler looks more and more like the german barkley every passing year. We are still building up a squad and AMs should be the least of our concerns currently.

I think they are. In a 343 or 352, both are much more of an attacking threat than Willian and both are clearly superior footballers to Pedro while admittedly not being as dynamic.

In a 3-5-2, i feel none would be anywhere good enough to actual be useful to us. That role requires someone of Hazard's quality.

Anyways, have to say we have massively different opinions regarding Draxler. The lad is so underwhelming, and seems to be mega overrated. His end product is as good as willian and everytime I see him play, I think of just one word SELFISH, trying to do everything himself.

As for Mahrez, he is a good player, but like i said above, we have quality players in our squad already. Dont forget Cesc is more an AM then a CM. Add to it Musonda who is mega talented. Just dont feel AM (unless World class) should be a priority.

Do we have any concrete evidence of a bid or serious inquiry to go on or is this just wishful thinking.

I'd be in dreamland if we landed him.

Its more because he plays Sane as a WB and trying to fit attacking players that hurt them.

Can't disagree with that. I agree that it isn't a factor for us atm unless we buy absolute world class just pointing out that if we deem some players as too expensive, Bellotti at 90m is a bit of a stretch considering that we still need cover at WB and CM

I'd rather have Mahrez than Draxler. There aren't many WC options out there but for me he's betetr than everything we have apart from Hazard. I don't compare him with Cesc because they're totally different players. Mahrez is a great ball-carrier and dribbler and can play the sides and offer a threat in behind.

I wasn't that hyped about Belotti the first time round but the more and more I've heard, I'm starting to get a little buzz on.

 

Now the thought of him and Morata is giving me a semi.

The idea of Morata and Belotti with Hazard behind sounds deadly, very much like a Tevez and Aguero partnership.

Though the idea of us spending 100m euros on one player sounds bonkers judging on our eagerness this window. I really think we will spend wisely and bulk the squad up rather than spending a lot of money on Belotti. If Bats left however, it could make it interesting.

Think there's like a 10% chance of this happening.

 

If we sell Costa for 30m and Bats for 35m then we could put the money towards triggering Belotti's release clause. 

Belotti's a hell of a good player.

Barcelona basically played 3 with Neymar, Messi and Suarez

Madrid play two with Benzema and Ronaldo

Juventus play two with Higuain and Dybala and Morata and Tevez before

 

If the overall balance of the team is right then there's no reason two upfront wouldn't work.

Nice team but sadly can't see Aurier coming on board...Oxlaide Chamberlain or Mahrez might be a worthwhile alternative...

Getting Draxler or at least Mahrez makes a lot of sense regardless of the other options you mentioned. Without Hazard, we aren't very strong on the wings, we need someone close to his level to improve us. And one thing I learnt from the Neymar saga is that nothing guarantee a player of Hazard's quality will finish his career here. An incredible bid from any team can suddenly make him move. And after he move, it will be difficult to replace him. Just like Barcelona teams will wants us to pay over the odds to replace him even with a player not close to his quality. And what options do we have now on the wings if Hazard is injured? Willian and Pedro. Players older than Hazard! So let's plan ahead, if their is a chance to sign Draxler, Dybala, Dembele or Asencio without paying over the odds, let's do it right now!

In that case we should buy a world class gk too, as well as a couple of Strikers.

It's even bigger joke to think Willian is more creative and will guarantee more goals than Mahrez. If I wasn't even sure about who is better among the two, I will go for Mahrez just for the age! But am well convince Mahrez is the better player.

 

Personally don't think either Mahrez or Draxler a close to being an improvement on what we already have, and neither seem to me like they are going to improve enough to reach that level. If we are looking for an attacking player I think we should look elsewhere.

Back I don't even think Draxler will reach the same level as Oscar.

 

Draxler looked good whenever I saw him playing for PSG, the real star in that team is Pastore. Absolute quality.

That said, Mahrez is a proper out and out winger in my book. Other than Pedro we don't have one, and Mahrez has more trickery than any of our forwards.

 

If the price is right it could be a phenomenal signing.
