May 10, 20188 yr Sick of Conte now, and after how good last season was I didn't think that would be possible in such a short space of time. It's like he threw the game last night the team selection was so bad. Why change a winning side? There is no point in resting players for a vital game at the weekend if a bad result in the game they are being rested in means that the game at the weekend becomes pointless! Why play 3 at the back against a team that were always going to throw everyone behind the ball and not get out of their own half? Basic stuff. I am that raging with the prick that I would love to see him sacked today so he isn't in charge for the final. In fact, I reckon if we sack him off now and give it to Morris for the final it would actually give the team a boost and we would win it.

Today I saw us linked with Edison Cavani - again 31, he's been around the block but is he the future for Chelsea? Where's the successor for Didier and why can't we integrate young players - we've enough seasoned pros in the squad to support the introduction of young talent. drives me mad The striker issue is our main problem. We have no one in the team that can bang in 30+ goals a season which is crucial for a top team.
May 10, 20188 yr Huddersfield deserve to stay up and where we are in our development it might be no bad thing that we will probably miss out on CL qualification. On another day we might have had at least three goals but this season has been like that, not to mention dodgy decisions that didn't go our way. I don't go along with the changed squad reason, we had plenty of possession and chances. You try scoring against 11 men defending the goal all match.

You're quite right to a point, we did dominate and did create a handful of chances. However, with just two games left to play and both being must wins why on Earth would you not play your very best 11? Giroud and Hazard on the bench has no justification whatsoever. Utter insanity.
May 10, 20188 yr Seriously, f* embarrassing, about 80% possession and created f* nothing. Unlike the other dozen sh1t games we had this year, couldn't even blame Morata for missing sitters, there was no crossing or decent through balls. The only time we got through them was just before half time when Morata got through, then no * players were interested in follow up the cross for a tap in. Our best chances fallen to defenders in set pieces, I know scoring goal is not Rudiger's job, but for f* sake did he mistake which end he was at, put the ball into the f* net instead of putting it behind. That tap in chance he had in the opening minutes, one really need to try to not score from that. Conte for f* sake, still passive as he could get, if it's scoreless, let's keep it this way and wait for us to go behind! How did we concede that goal? we have a joke of a GK, had nothing to do and the moment need him he couldn't make up 10 yards to kick the ball way.Maybe not really all his fault because the first choice usually find a way to miss a game, Spurs/Huddsfield, 2 games we missed Courtois, 5 points lost. Playing 3 defenders in a game like this is ridiculous, should have switched to 4 in the back after about 10 miuntes, they only had 1 striker on his for the whole game. I know we want stability and or that, but it's really difficult to cotend with Conte for another year, sure he'd do a better job if he gets 300M to buy whoever he wants, but seriously, who couldn't do a better job with that much money? We need to change, not just players, but approach to play the game, because this 343 sh1t havent been working against the worst in the league, and somehow we are still doing it until the cows walk home.
May 10, 20188 yr sh*t happens.A game we should have won against a side that would make paint drying look interesting, good keeper though.A word to the next manager in the hot seat ,dont ever come on here.Hope we can win the f a cup now but if not it is still UP THE CHELS !

Banging in goals isn’t the main goal of the striker at this club, leading the line is. Hence the reason many top strikers failed here. we need drogba or costa esque who holds up the ball, knocks down balls, do one twos with wingers, keep the Center backs worried and occupied preventing them from doubling up on hazards and willians of this world. last year there went a period mid season costa wasn’t scoring for extended periods, yet his line leading play allowed rest of the team to perform off him and score plenty. Giroud does this a bit, morata cannot do this to save his life. Hence the reason I’m so pissed off we let costa go without an ample replacement lined up
May 10, 20188 yr Author We don't have many talented shooters in the squad and last night was a great example of how we suffer because of it. It comes to something when your left winger has the best shot in the team.

I know he scored a good goal the other week but i've always been amazed at Fabregas's inability to take on a shot from outside the box. Kante and Baka are potentially worse. Really makes you appreciate how good Lampard was at consistently delivering from those sorts of positions.

May 10, 20188 yr The only positive to being out of the CL, will be if the manager (be it Conte or other...presumably other), thinks, we may as well give some younger players squad roles with Europa league group games being less intense than CL. Then those players play well, and convince the manager to give them some league games too....and then we have some breakthroughs for our youth players and everyone is excited... But let's be honest. We'll buy players (either they'll be excellent in response to this years disaster, or terrible like all our signings this season, or terrible because we just can't attract the good ones with CL), and the youngsters will get no chances, and nothing will change. On the brightside, we'll probably win the league in a couple of years anyway. It's the Chelsea way. Edited May 10, 20188 yr by Cam

May 10, 20188 yr After the Liverpool game, I was really starting to believe and now I kind of regret that because it made this result much more painful. Oh well, I guess the best to hope for now is the FA Cup.
May 10, 20188 yr Well let's hope the next manager is someone like Jardim who has a track record of bringing on youth players...
May 10, 20188 yr Anyone stay behind last night? Looked like a lot of people left on the final whistle, why they didn’t do it Sunday I don’t know. I had to be up at 5am for work, the fans live in the real world and not the pampered life of a professional footballer!
May 10, 20188 yr From football365.com · Very odd indeed. Chelsea can hardly have been surprised by Huddersfield Town’s tactics at Stamford Bridge, unless they missed their game against Manchester City three days earlier. Huddersfield needed a point and so came for a point. They sat deep and they defended for their lives. In that situation, you need your most creative players to unlock the door. Yet Conte chose to leave Eden Hazard on the bench. Any team selection that causes the opposition manager to breathe an enormous sigh of relief should be avoided. On Sunday against Liverpool, Tiemoue Bakayoko played a ranging pass to the right wing, where Victor Moses controlled the ball instantly. Moses played the perfect cross into the penalty area, where Olivier Giroud was loitering with intent. Giroud’s header was perfect. If leaving Hazard out of the team was a surprise, so too was leaving out every player involved in Sunday’s winning goal. Even if Conte felt that Hazard et al were in need of a rest ahead of the FA Cup final, why did it take until almost the hour mark to make a change?
May 10, 20188 yr Last night with the team that was out there should have with the possession and chances should have won. I get people have an opinion to want Conte out. Interesting that during the game threads, people blame Conte for players bad decisions, also passing and shooting. Looking at the season and player selections, some people were never happy with whoever got picked. Sacking or Conte leaving won’t change what goes on above with player purchase/ Selling. The Next manager will again not get what he wants and that might put off certain managerial targets, which would be ironic and comical for the board. No manager with the pressure of winning the league or top four is going to gamble on playing youth as their job is at stake. Also thought it poor that hardly anyone stayed after the game for the lap of appreciation. I don’t think there was more than 5,000 home fans there. We still have a cup final to play for. I think some have forgotten pre 2004 and what we used to fight for.
