TBF tho, I've never especially rated him. Fine finisher. Useless at everything else. Not sure how that will translate to this league at this stage of his career. I think many will find him frustrating in his all round play and he will find goals harder to come by in England than in Italy or Spain.

I'm not so sure that this isn't all just a smokescreen and we have something else in the works.  Remember the keeper rumors that were swirling in the summer and then out of nowhere we ended up with Kepa?  Maybe something similar happens here.  Hopefully, because I definitely don't want Higuain.

Possibly.....but who is out there in Jan we can get and the board willing to pull it off? The time was in summer not now. A decent striker would have given us a few more pts and well worth it in the end.......as mentioned our lack of vision could very easily decide if we get top4 or not.......was never worth the risk as we see today.

You are right. Higuain moved to AC Milan as part of the move taking Bonucci to Juve, a loan fee was agreed with an option to buy at the end of the season. AC Milan want to terminate the contract as they are short on money. If the deal is to happen Milan will terminate Higuain’s deal and we will agree to send Milan Morata on loan. Juve don’t want him on the payroll because of Ronaldo’s wages, so will negotiate a loan fee with Juve.

We need to stop getting in bed in Milan, as things stand can’t see them signing Bakayoko because they are skint. Morata will also return back to us in the summer. Over the years we have loaned them Shevchenko, Alex, Essien, Crespo, Torres and Pasalic, and received ZERO in transfer fees.

Damn, I'd keep Morata based on that record, I have no doubt he's a better finisher than Morata, whether he's mobile and quick enough to get on those chances is yet to be seen. 6 months is acceptable given where we are, probably pay his full salary on top of loan fee, not a cheap loan by any means.

If he flops, I reckon Sarri would lose his job. Gabigol on loan at Santos from Inter is the top scorer in the Brazilian league; 18 goals in 34 games and only 22. He is waiting on a work permit to join West Ham  on an initial loan + £20m option. Worth a gamble IMO as Coutinho was rotting away in reserves for Inter before Liverpool took a punt on him for £8m. 

Anyone but Higuain for me.

This whole narrative you can’t sign a top player in January is strange. It doesn’t have to be a world class player, just find a No 9 on top 4. Piatek has 8 more league goals than Higuain in a worse team, and has scored 6 in his last 7 games. Makes way more sense than gambling on an aging forward who hasn’t scored in 2 months. Jovic & Werner are also attainable; their teams are not  likely to win the league. A £10m loan deal till the summer with? an option to buy for £30m-£40m in the summer will get the deal done. I just can’t wrap my head around why Milan will be swapping Higuain if he is any good for a dodgy Morata, when the former is less of a gamble as things stand and can fire them into Europe.

Jovic is a no go. it is very complicated, Frankfurt have an option to buy him at the end of the season, so there's no chance they will cancel his loan from Benfica, when they can make a fortune in the summer. 

Piatek could be available, but as we've seen with Belotti, he could just be a one season wonder. 

Werner is an interesting one, but there is no way any team going agree to loaning out their star striker, with an option to buy. There is just no incentive for that deal to happen, £10m now to try and replace a player that is worth 5 times more than that. 

So there isn't a lot of attractive options in my opinion, even higuian on loan for 18 months will still cost us £27m, assuming we take up the same agreement Milan have with juve.
