Thats just another short term striker we dont need.......either get one we can Count on or dont waste the cash at all. And Santa can do one, im still waiting for him to deliver what is owed to me when I was 7 :Connie_threaten:

They've been even worse and have been doing it since Fergie retired. Jose has spent £350 million and they still look a million miles away from winning the title. No excuse for any club wasting hundreds of millions on rubbish and mediocrity.

exactly my point

it happens man,  We will be fine

Did ok today. Everton will finish top 8 and will take points off the top teams. Two strikes by Alonso on another day go in but we could have been down to 10.

I was half expecting to concede a late one so draw was ok. Need to up it for next week.

100%

Exactly and we’d all be a lot happier right now, it’s like he has a sponge for a brain at times.

His hair reminds me of a sponge sometimes...:frizz2:

gotta agree Pickford made some good saves today - IMHO this was the best of the lot

at first I thought Alonso hit the post - I didn't realize until I saw the replay that Pickford saved that shot - props to him

oh I hear it on both sides of the pond - first The English are pumping Rooney's 120th appearance & then here in the MLS the Young Yanks & the fact Rooney is playing in the US

What can I say my friend.......sh*t all the way.

Well we lucky or unlucky depending which way you look at the game.  Yes we should be thankful we are at the top of the table rather than the bottom; seeing as our expectations were not more than a top 4 spot at the start. Trouble is the expectations have been raised over the previous 10 games or so. So should we be disappointed or happy where we are sitting despite the result?

City today showed why they will win the league in a canter unless they have a meltdown.  Anyone of the remaining 6 or 7 clubs can grab a top four spot as they / we are simply not consistent enough home or away.  I think this team, with the players we have, are just about as 'good as it gets' for us this year.  Like others, I still feel Kante is playing in the wrong position and apart from playing short forward passes what has Jorghino really offered? because as a sitting midfielder he offers very little defensively creating pressure on an already underwhelming back four set up.  Without a ruthless striker up front staying in touch with the likes of Liverpool and even Spurs might be a struggle as we approach the holiday schedule and beyond.   We needed to make a statement today and unfortunately thanks to a strong Everton performance, a few misses we missed the opportunity to put pressure on both Liverpool and City.

Onward and upward...sh*tty break then another tough test..

City cant be touched......there is literally not 1 element where they are weak........cheating, bribing etc will bring you rewards and the media in Eng will applaude you for it, unless its us of course. We have a huge battle regarding top 4. We could just as easily get left behind as getting in.

Has anyone mentioned yet we didn't lose despite Zeta's absence? If that's not a reason to be cheerful (part 3 or otherwise), I don't know what is, apart from the fact that - contrary to what some posters here seem to think - we're not in the relegation zone.

exactly.

Disappointed with the result. It’s interesting that the starting midfield three divide opinions on here. I don’t mind any of them individually, the one thing the opposition won’t fear is they don’t score goals. The other thing today apart from not moving the ball quickly enough I thought our decision making was not good.

Love to know what goes on inside his head. Never looks across the line....ever.  You'd think they'd be studying this hard in the video room and working out a strategy to rectify it. Probably would still have got to the ball first for the ruled out goal from an onside position two inches back.  Then there's the senseless yellow card - if you going to get carded at least be taking one for the team or something not for a futile whinge.  Has been a frustrating watch outside the first three months.

Sell Kante to PSG for loads of cash. Get an offensive midfielder in his place.

Sell Morata to whoever is foolish enough to bet on him.

Buy a proper striker for God's sake.

Tie Hazard to a long term deal.

We will be good to go for next season.

Eh? Sell Kante?!  Back to back titles with two different clubs, in the team of the years two seasons running, player of the year in one of those.  As is pointed out - is playing out of position, is one of two world class players we have at  the club (and would outlast the manager anyway if he doesn't get things right).

No way mate.....this is a state backed Club with a second string that is almost good enough to win the title. They are on super cheat mode and can spend when they want how they want. Their back 4 costed them over 250M......as long as they are allowed to do this we cant do anything. EPL has lost its edge.

funny now the shoes on the other foot our fans are pissed how City are spending money...strange we weren't moaning when Roman first arrived and spent a boatload to win the title.  Roman started the trend of clubs being owned by billionaires but now can't keep up with the big boys.  We just have to suck it up like everyone did all those years ago.

Your argument would have been perfectly valid if there was no Jorginho in the side.

The lack of creativity with Jorginho in the back and Kante in the more advanced role has been glaring for the last several weeks now.

The question is not how good Kante is/was, but one of whether both Jorginho and Kante can fit together in the starting eleven. I have serious doubts.

We are too reliant on Hazard's magic for any sort of creativity for goal or the usual Alonso crosses.

While you could argue that Hazard fills this role, we need a midfielder that will attack the oppositions midfield and drive at the opponents defence( an Essien type player) right now we don't have one of those players holding a spot in the first 11, RLC is probably our best option. I still don't like Kante in the advanced role, while he may win the ball higher up the pitch his distribution is not as good as it should be in the attacking sense; in addition by playing forward he will be naturally be placed in a position where chances and half chances fall to him; a natural forward thinking attacking midfielder will take these chances on, whereas Kante tries to play safe going sideways and the chance is gone.   Sarri needs to have a closer look at the squad and set up.   We all know that the 2nd half of the season is more difficult than the first time around....continuing what we are doing will simply be nullified the second time around.

It's not a coincidence that we've not played particularly well in the Premier League after being forced to travel in midweek.

Looking at the highlights, Pickford probably prevented at least one goal from being scored (his save off Alonso was great), but on the other hand Chelsea didn't really seem to be at the races and were perhaps lucky not to have Jorginho sent off. Everton's pressing seriously unnerved Chelsea in possession and probably led to a lot of fouling. Luckily they didn't create that much and were wasteful on the counter.

We need a big improvement against Tottenham. They've not been at their best either and the game is at Wembley (where we have a good record), but that game could still go either way.

What a useless result especially at home. 2nd half same as the 1st. Lacking in energy and coordination.

Too bad as we've extended this unbeaten run. Draws don't do us any favours especially against these types of games.
