January 2, 20197 yr With regards to the transfer fee, in a few years time, if Pulisic turns into a fantastic player for us, the fee is quickly forgotten about, we are paying for potential, so it's impossible to judge the fee right now. There's also a lot of of speculation that because we spend big on Pulisic, we won't spend big on anyone else, or that Pulisic in, means CHO out. Who knows if we still won't buy a big name striker, or possibly another attacker? Who knows if CHO is going to leave because of Pulisic? It seems strange to take a negative stance because of hypothetical situations posters have conjured up in their heads.

But since our board's incompetence is a fact, I smell something fishy with that transfer + the fact we might buy kovavic too and that there isnt any credible offer for Morata atm, Hazard might be sold in order to make a couple of bucks ... I know it sounds outrageous, but never trust our board when they make a big signing : it's definitely always followed by a big loss in our squad. And since half the football planet wants Hazard out, plus ALL of his teamates in Belgium wants him out too, courtois first, and that he always talks about real madrid like a deluded CR7 fan, Hazard might think to himself "hell ! We struggle to secure top 4 and dont play much UCL since 2014, I might consider Perez" offer ! Plus, the club seems to be fine with their new signings (kovavic and pulisic), so no harm done if I go + Chelsea will get 200 mil so it's a win win ! ".

Is Alonso a bad footballer now or has he never gotten a chance? Morata is a bad footballer? Emerson as well? Nobody in football gets every decision right. Sometimes players don't pan out or aren't worth their fee. This is not preventable, you couldn't do better.
January 2, 20197 yr Hopefully this turns into a good signing but we’ll see how he does. I do like how quickly we got our business done and announced. Second day of the window!

Every single US soccer fan is going to tune in to Chelsea games to see Pulisic. More fans and interest will mean more revenue for the club.

Maybe hazard sees we are spending big and wants to stay. Maybe not signing a striker means hazard plays up top, and CHO breaks into the starting 11. Maybe Pulisic then comes in and forms part of a deadly trident with Hazard, and CHO, then in 18 months time, we are all on here saying what a bargain £57m was for Pulisic!

Generally speaking, us players are EXTREMELY overrated from what I saw. So hopefully he can prove me wrong ... Edited January 2, 20197 yr by Londonisblue

They will make more though presumably which will make supplying/sponsoring Chelsea more attractive. Chelsea may not receive a large bump but whoever is supplying our kits is going to have more demand for product especially if he's a success. Bit like Park playing for United, companies associated with Chelsea will now have a marketing advantage in the US and the club will grow at the same time.
January 2, 20197 yr Looking forward to seeing him play for us. Clearly lots and lots of potential and hopefully Sarri can get the best out of him. We may have overpaid now but if he turns out to be a success £58 million won't sound that bad in a few years time. What happens if he gets a bad injury between now and june though? Hopefully there is some kind of clause in the deal that protects us against that.

I want to believe you, but it will all come down to whether next year we play UCL football or not then. Hopefully the peer pressure will do fcuk all but trust me, in belgium and france, all the pundits say the same BS that consists in saying that Hazard deserves better than Chelsea and all suggest that Real Madrid will be his next destination. Hence my fears, but hopefully, our great 2018/2019 season will prove them wrong again ! Edited January 2, 20197 yr by Londonisblue
January 2, 20197 yr Pulisic and CHO the eventual replacements for Willian and Pedro. I think that's good news. I don't know much about him and every signing is a risk, but I'm pleased that the club is planning ahead.

January 2, 20197 yr It’s looking like a busy month ahead for Chelsea. Brought Pusilic, selling Abraham to Wolves £18m, huge question marks over Hudson Odoi, Fabregas looks to be leaving, we desperately need a striker.

That's interesting. Hope it means a striker is coming in.
January 2, 20197 yr We need Hazard to take Pulisic under his wing and teach him a thing or two. On the pitch for sure but also in the gym. Get him stronger and more ready for the rigors of the PL.

January 2, 20197 yr So the sources for the Abraham thing include Twitter, some local brummie newspaper hack, and ultimately (as far as I can tell) The Sun... I wouldn't stake my life on it just yet. This sh*t should really be banished to the random rumours thread.

I know only a few youngsters can make it big, but seriously, look at what morata/willian/and to a lesser extent pedro have done and then you'll understand why I'm a bit bitter about the whole situation regarding our youngsters ...
January 2, 20197 yr That's a f**king ridiculous price. I hope we're still in the market for another midfielder / winger like Fekir Depay or something because Pulisic by himself is really underwhelming. Good business by Dortmund. Edited January 2, 20197 yr by MANoWAR
