Saints slaughtered Wrexham last night. Whether they can keep it up is another matter what with the FA Cup match sandwiched in between. Remarkable coaching effort given where they were under Still.

Saints are on an unbelievable run under this unknown coach of theirs (Tonda Eckert). Never heard of the bloke until a couple of weeks ago, but blimey, what a job he is doing. Thrashed Wrexham after recent wins against Coventry, Fulham and Arsenal and now on a 16 game unbeaten run. I'm glad City are playing them in the semi-final and not us!!

They are the team in form going into the play-off's but have they peaked too soon? Might all catch up with them, but rather them back in the PL than Boro or Millwall.

Middlesbrough and Millwall will have to win their last 5 games just to get to 87 points, and both have vastly inferior goal difference so one more win (in their last 5 games) and Coventry will essentially be already up. They'll have to go full Devon Loch to blow automatic promotion from here, and one of those two sides will simultaneously have to win their 5 in a row.

Probably also a dead cert for the title itself. Ipswich have to play 7 games in 20 days, 5 of which are away (current away record won 7 drawn 5 lost 6, 11th best in the Championship) , and have to play several sides that desperately need points themselves, some to go up/make play offs, and some to stay in the division.

Great reference to that poor horse there mate 👍 😂

Frank's done a remarkable job seeing as Coventry were down near the bottom when he came in last season. . I've only seen highlights of their games, so not sure how they'll do in the PL ?. Millwall will probably end up in the playoffs with the usual violent nonsense from their fans.

I think Frank has done well too, think the Saints might go up with them, it would be better if WHU or the Spuds are playing Millwall rather than us next season.

Coventry missed out on promotion in a penalty shoot out the season before under Mark Robins. Frank inherited a good squad which has been strengthened. But it remains a Championship squad, there aren't many you'd fancy to lead the way in the PL. Sunderland spent very cleverly over last summer to strengthen themselves, Coventry need to do the same.

If Saints can maintain the form, they deserve to make it. Big ask with an FA cup game squeezed into an already heavy workload. Don't fancy their chances in the PL if they do make it, though. Not without some serious upgrades.

Hope Saints come up,.... living on the south coast these days, it's Always a decent away trip

This is a game Coventry should've won based on league standints, expensive points dropped in the title race.

Story of their season. Inconsistency. Big wins, poor losses, and 0-0 against poor old Wednesday takes the cake. Boro are really missing Hackney and can't score goals, probably only Ipswich with their games in hand can threaten for the title.

Unless Coventry back Frank, and invest like Sunderland, they’re gonna get dog walked next season. Penny for Lampard’s thoughts on becoming a puppet for BlueCo, it all makes sense really, a legend the fans adore and won’t critique to the same extent as Poundland pep or LinkedIn final boss. Naturally, we’d want him to succeed, so it’s a win win. 😅

Certainly could happen. He has remained on decent terms with Blueco since his term as interim. I can only see it happening in the summer though. I don't think he would want to take over half way through a season like last time. Perhaps they are already trying to line him up to take over this summer.

Frank would be better off getting Coventry promoted and having a tilt with them in the Premier League.

Less pressure, lower expectations and he can continue building on what he's started with Coventry.

Has he? He was openly critical of them during and post his last stint here, and the last year or so he has taken almost every podcast as an opportunity to berate BlueCo specifically for a drop in standards.

Time heals all wounds etc. but I don't think he's signing on anything without some seriously iron-clad guarantees.

However if Eghbali was to sign him on a Sporting Director in lieu of the idiot brigade we have, that would be a win.

I don't want Lampard back, for his sake and for ours. He's doing well with Coventry, let him finish his job there and let him gain the experience required to build a solid coaching career. For us, what we need right now is an established coach that is going to instil discipline, resilience and a solid tactical framework, together with some backing from the board with mature, established players in key positions. We all know that the board is not going to do that, but Frank should not touch our bench with a barge pole while this lot are running the club.

Promotion secured. Fantastic 👌👌 Need him to continue picking up these experience milestones before he even thinks about managing a big club again

At some point I want him back, but if he does I want him to be here for a long time. Maybe best to wait until after we're relegated next season.

I'll expand on that somewhat. Maybe best to wait until we are relegated, and (hopefully) Blueco have run to the hills and sold off to escape the irate fans, and we have a new owner....
