September 30, 20196 yr https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/news/new-fifa-loan-rules-chelsea-16981984 The new rules are set to come through, next season we will be allowed to have 8 players age 22 or over on loan. Not sure what the situation is with our youth players under that age, but for the time being 22 and over we can only have 8 players next season, and the season after that thats getting cut down to 6. So who are you guys keeping and think is worth loaning out the following season? 20/21 - Blackman, Kenedy, Musonda, Pasalic, Clarke-Salter, Izzy Brown, Bakayoko (unless we can flog him to another team), Piazon (only because hes signed a 2 year loan deal, so takes up an automatic loan spot) What are your thoughts?

None of your list will ever play for chelsea in the pre.ker league. So I'm not fussed. Keep anyone who is 22 or 23 and we think will improve so we can sell for more. Everyone else sell.

I was thinking the same as I was typing the names out, but we are a club thats notorious for loans so I think we will try and do the maximum number we can. I think out of the few I mentioned maybe Musonda has a chance if he can get back to good form and possibly Kenedy as well if he improves. But aside from that, I do think its unlikely for everyone else on the list. Also I just want to see what players other members on here think are worth loaning out
September 30, 20196 yr Only players worth keeping are Pasalic and Castillo. Sell the rest (and Barkley).
September 30, 20196 yr The 16 players who are currently out on loan, and will be >22 at start of next season : Drinkwater, Moses, Zappacosta, Blackman, Piazon, Rahman, Bakayoko, Pasalic, Baker, Miazga, Kenedy, Nathan, Musonda, Pantic, Brown, Clarke-Salter. I really don't see anyone on that list that shouldn't just be sold !

You can only sell if there are prospective buyers, if not keep on loan or allow to go free, IMO Edited September 30, 20196 yr by strider6004

If he isn't good enough for us now, then he never will be. We have a ton of players in front of him. 4 hours ago, Sexyfootball said: The 16 players who are currently out on loan, and will be >22 at start of next season : Drinkwater, Moses, Zappacosta, Blackman, Piazon, Rahman, Bakayoko, Pasalic, Baker, Miazga, Kenedy, Nathan, Musonda, Pantic, Brown, Clarke-Salter. September 30, 20196 yr One thing is for certain, we will see what players the club view in high regards. Because if they are forced to keep everyone at the club except 8 over 22 years old, then we might see them off load a crap ton of "dead wood" How does it work for under 22? Is there a limit? Sorry, didn't read the article and I'm at work so I'm skimming comments here and didn't see it mentioned.
October 1, 20196 yr It's one thing to say "sell, sell, sell", it's another to find a club willing to maintain Drinkwater's insane salary. In reality this cap will mean a few extra expensive outcasts loitering around the fringe of the squad until their contracts run out. Edited October 1, 20196 yr by Jonty

Pasalic may not quite be good enough for us now, and I agree with you - but neither is Barkley in my opinion. We look fluid when Mount plays as an attacking midfielder and I'm sorry to say but I think Barkley looks out of place when he plays at right centre midfield - I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see a place for Barkley. October 1, 20196 yr Author Pretty much agree with everyone here, none of the players we have aged over 22 atm is good enough to play for us. They will probably all need to get sold, but knowing us and how we love to use the loan system, I can still see us loaning out the maximum number of 8 players. We certainly did do very well this summer though in getting rid of a whole host of deadwood players. Now if only we can carry that on in January, but the winter window is always quiet as its the middle of the season, so not sure who's getting sold then, aside from Hector
October 1, 20196 yr I would keep Zappacosta, we don't know when Azpi is going to break down and we'll need another RB, Moses is also a class WB but we don't know how often we're going to be playing 3 at the back. If Drinkwater can save his career and put in a decent season then he could potentially get a move with the virtue of being a HG player but I doubt it and we're probably going to have to keep him, Bakayoko can have a decent season and I think Monaco would take him back for £20m.

I don't think Pasalic is better than Barkley though, so it would be a waste of time bringing him back to take Barkley's spot. We also have Jorgino, Kante, Kovacic, Mount, Loftus-Cheek and Gilmour. I don't see any room for somebody like Pasalic. He won't want to return to us and play a few cup games a season, so we may as well just sell him.

Thought he was going to get sold this season after a decent performance in Italy last year, but just got sent out on loan again.

The way he's playing for Atalanta this season I'd take him over Barkley any day of the week.

Not too bizarre when he's been loaned out 5 or 6 years in a row with no hope of ever getting to our first team. His time was up here and I doubt Lampard will start him over Kovacic, Mount or Jorginho so he'll just be wasting away on the bench here.

July 23, 20205 yr I’d keep Kenedy, I’ve always had a soft spot for him and he’s a good utility player to have, although I wouldn’t shed any tears if he left. I’d keep Musonda maybe one more year and hope he can make a breakthrough on loan. Other than those two I’d offload the lot. Shame about Baker I really used to believe he’d make it here.
