I understand the concept of panic buys, but those options off the bench yesterday were absolutely disgusting, we need signings, end of dicussion.

It's pretty concerning when we are struggling for goals and creativity so Lampard brings on Barkley.

Also Michy, and has no winger to bring on when both of our wingers were massively underperforming.

Yep why cant Lampard leave 2 upfront?. They are waiting for Sancho in the summer bu there is no guarantee he will join us and if we dont get champions league he wont be coming here.

I would of let Barkley go to West Ham during the week and looked to bring in a creative midfielder. Worries me when our manager rates average players like Barkley and wants Chillwell.

Also, he keeps saying Kante is playing well, that's worrying. 

Got to say since December Lampard has really started to disappoint me, despite the two big wins.

I'm not 100% aware of some of your nominations, but it's so blatantly obvious our attack needs sorting out/upgrading/adding to. We have been very hit and miss over the years with our main strikers especially those coming from abroad with a great reputation and failing miserably. But anything is better than Michy. Some on here are fans of Willian and occasionally he does have a decent game but i find him the most frustrating player on our books, he's so not bothered he's even stopped flailing his arms in the air. He's not the only one, and i'm at a loss as to why we look so lethargic and devoid of football basics. But after going to the bridge for over fifty years i'm not giving up. ktbffh

Yes, they are not well known names but very very talented in my opinion. Also, there is Lucas Paqueta of Ac Milan. He would be perfect for that no 10 role. Reminds me a bit of Kaka but Ac milan play 4-4-2 now and they have not used him properly. He would only cost about £30 million which is a steal in this current market.

Seems we all agree we need to invest , Tammy can’t do it on his own.

He had Pedro. Did not use him.

He has Anjorin, did not call him up.

We do all agree. I just hope we dont end up panicking and ending up with Drinkwaters, Emersons, Bakas and Michys because that will just be wasting money that wont help us.

I agree. That is actually the biggest risk is that we buy someone wholly unsuited who is 3rd or 4th on the list because that is what is available. 

We're still 4th by a few points and not doing badly all things considered. We also know that our form in winter has been sh*t regardless of the manager for at least 5 seasons.

There are also two World Cup winners who can't get a game at all in the squad. Both did well last season. Using them might be an option instead of throwing away money on panic buys.

Frank also sidelined Giroud and he clearly was a shadow of who he can be against west ham because of it. That was a mistake as he is lightyears better than Michy.

Yup. Best we've played this year was the first half of the Super Cup against Liverpool. Giroud and Pedro both played well. They've barely played since. Boggles.my mind.

I can kind of understand Lampard not playing Giroud as he’s slow but I don’t understand sliding Pedro who on his day is a good finisher and energetic. 

I was just watching the demolition of Arsenal in the Europa final at the end of last season and Giroud, Alonso and Pedro all featured.

I am not saying all three should be playing now yet for the life of me can't believe we are persisting with Bats when we have a proven goal scorer doing nothing on the sidelines.

When the alternative is Batman there is no understanding of it. He is the worst Chelsea forward since Chris Sutton.

I agree about Giroud, and particularly Alonso, but I can't get all upset about Pedro not playing. The "idea" of Pedro is great, but the reality usually disappoints ...

Ouch! But you could be right, I remember the buzz and expectation when we signed Sutton, oh dear what a disaster that was.

A few rumours going around Lampard wants to sign Cavani.

I understand that January signings are always tricky. I would rather stick with the current squad than waste money on a panic buy that may unbalance things and mean we miss out on our real targets. Perhaps the club are making better progress than we think in regards to recruiting prime targets. But if there really isn't much going on my only confusion is over why the club extended so much in the way of time/resources/money trying to get the ban reduced to one window? Purely out of principle perhaps?

Honestly don't know why people are afraid of signings in January. Some of our past best players have being signed in January:

Anelka - Ivanovic - Salah - Cahill - de bruyne - kurt zouma - david Luiz. They all have being good signings. We had some bad ones too like Torres but he served the club to his best abilities too. 

This team needs help and if the rumours are true about Cavani am all for for it.

I agree we need to strengthen, but how msny of those sigings made an impact in the season we signed them? Probably only Cahill and David luiz. 

So i can understand to pessimism, but we in my opinion, we have to take a chance on a couple. 

Matic came in January and was great from the get go. Kind of strange how there's been very little transfer activity from the big clubs, apart from Minamino to Liverpool I can't think of any other transfers.
