f**king hell @coco you’ve screwed up the date massively on this one!

It's my mysterious 'seat 51' ticket that did it.

Chelsea are finally preparing for this match - here is a look today of Super Frank checking out the lads on the practice pitch

Kante is training! There’s been no mention of his return that I’ve seen.

TBH, I thought you read The Sun because of the Ladies that the puplication shows ?

Villa have an advantage in playing 1 competitive game before they face us. At a time like this it could be key.

Really hard to predict the best line up. I dont imagine our time away has improved our defense a lot so may as well go for goals.

Kepa

James

Zouma

Tomori

Alonso

Kovacic

Gilmour

RLC

Mount

Abraham

Pulisic

I don’t envy Frank for having to pick our midfield with everyone available!

Great options to have though!

If Kante was all guns blazing it would be pretty easy for frank to be fair. As Gilmour on merit deserves it and if RLC is fit, he plays imo.

I think this will be a very tough game. Villa scrapping for their lives. We will need a strong mentality to win because it won't be easy and there will be pressure applied. For me that means experience and 3 at that back with Alonso free to cause trouble up top

Kepa, Dave, Zouma, Rudiger, James, Kante, Kovacic, Alonso, Pedro, Tammy, Willian

There shouldn't be any debate regarding the lineup to be honest.

On merit it should be the exact same one that stuffed Everton before the league was called off.

Tammy and Pulisic would have started that game if they had the opportunity but they were injured at the time, now I would start them over Pedro and Giroud without even having the thought about that Everton game. Barkley did really well and his run against Liverpool was amazing, one of the best goals of the season...but if Kante is fit I would choose him over Barkley to start.

It would be absolutely outrageous if Kante walses back into the side yet again after we've hit form without him, especially in these type of games where we will playing Infront of a deep line.

I can understand the argument for Tammy and Pulisic but if Kante starts this one I'll be fuming, will show Lampard hasn't learned his lesson from trying to shoehorn him back in earlier in the season.

After we hit form without him? Why not with him I mean it's only 1 game it literally means nothing. I don't understand what you mean because how we played 3 months ago doesn't matter anymore, we have no form at all and 1 game doesn't change that. It's against Villa, that should be an easy win regardless who plays and it doesn't mean that Kante would force himself back and ruin something...

Against Man City we should play with our strongest lineup and Kante should start.

1 game? We smashed 3 teams being coached by CL winners (without him) in the leadup to the suspension.

As i said on a previous thread, all teams bar Hertha in Germany have had results and performances on a similar line to before the suspension once they returned, i think you'll be surprised at just how many teams pick up from where they left off.

3 months ago. Even if you want to make it look like nothing has changed, Kante scored against Man city last time we played them, he played great in all big games part from Arsenal (in case people still consider them a big game)...

Well City's the game after, i'm talking about Villa.

One game at a time!

I think Kante won't be ready for the first game as he was the last one to join the team in training. But I don't agree that we should be against him playing the next game vs Man City when we win against Villa without him, that one game means nothing.

Tammy and Mount should win this game by themselves if you ask me, now they are rested and Villa will have tons of problems.

As well as all the other choices I much prefer RLC at his best to mount. Much stronger and a better eye for goal. Much better.

‘equally as good as gilmour is, Kovacic is also a good player. But who would really know who is showing form in practice.

Kepa

James Rudi Zouma Azpi

Glimour Kovacic

Willian Mount Pulisic

          Tammy

easy win on paper by all means...
