How is a referee that is so incompetent at handling even the most basic things like how to refer to a person a UEFA Champions League referee? Very strange.

I totally agree with Demba Ba and you should never identify someone by bringing their skin color into it.

Not yet but all talk is about psg vs Istanbul. I thought I'd helpfully remind everyone that there is another game going on that needs to be discussed

It's half time.

Anjorin, Havertz, Chistensen, Kova having good games. Everyone else OK. Tammy is very wasteful, though. Did well to win the pen but don't think he's done enough in this game so far. Anjorin fed him a really nice ball that he was on his heels on, too.

EDIT: how could I forget! Gilmour been MoM so far. He's looks quality as a number 8.

I'll have to get back to you on that front, but all I can say is I'd take a one legged Alex Sandro at Chelsea just so I can have peace.

Since our foundation on 10/03/1905 it has been 42,277 days without ever signing Alex Sandro.

Nah fella, Demba was spot on. If it was a white person skin colour wouldn’t have come in to it at all. Disgraceful and fair play to both clubs for walking off. That needed to happen a long time ago.

Exactly, players have numbers and names on their back for a reason. Most people think Racism is all KKK and Nazi stuff. That's just the tip of the ice berg, it's the flippant and subtle racism that infests our society, its the reason the Black Lives Matter movement is so important. These things that seem trivial are actually very telling of a person's attitudes.

It's not enough to just be not racist, you have to be Anti-Racist and I applaud both teams.

Basically reiterates the point that racist stereotypes are all around us, and manifest in various ways. Taking the knee and other strong sustained statements empower players to call this out. It's a show of constant support and its impact cannot be underestimated.

Well I guess you're right, my mind went automatically to the US where cops regularly identify victims or suspects as in "middle aged latino" or "white male" or "black female" just for that purpose of identifying but I guess the US shouldn't be used as a standard anymore lol

Yes, let’s not hold ourselves to the low low standards of US law enforcement

Exactly, very well said. Also, knee jerk reactions like "Ba overreacted" will hopefully soon be set aside. And that can only happen if we acknowledge that there are deep rooted systemic issues. Anyway, back to the game...

Still no need to bring the colour of his skin in to it though. Hiding behind being Romanian and it’s fine there, he’s representing UEFA.

Tough one really, I have no problem being identified by my ethnicity as a means of being picked out easily. It's like that tall one or that fat one, when they have one coaching member who is black it is easiest to say that black one rather than going in circles trying to avoid saying that to point him out?

Sorry I miss read your comment, I thought you said that the fourth ref/official walked them off the pitch...maybe I've had a couple too many already

I'm there myself so I wouldn't worry ?

As a short arse fat bastard myself I’d have to say while I’ve suffered abuse for it, I wouldn’t be brave enough to say it was anywhere near the injustices people have suffered due to racism.

Anyway, there’s a football match going on and there are people far more qualified to talk about it than some half cut white guy!

As a ginger I fully endorse this comment!

Wanderson is such a fantastic mediocre footballer name. We should sign him.
