West Ham v Chelsea (PL) Sat 24th Apr 2021 17:30 GMT

Tough one with RM next week we could have done with resting one or two especially Mason but I don’t think we can afford too. Should have had his rest v Brighton instead of playing in the position he did, anyway

tempted to put zouma in instead of Dave as their biggest threat will be Soucek pulling onto the RCB and beating him in the air.
hopefully 3 up at ht and we can take Mason off for a rest

On paper, those fixtures look like we’ll need to win the European Cup or rejoin the ESL to play top level European football next season.

I have no doubt that this current Chelsea squad is not up to much by the standards we’ve seen in the Roman era, but these comments by Allardyce should if nothing else make them at least decide to put some effort and determination into their performances.

Manager Sam Allardyce said his side "couldn't cope" with Leicester, who he added are "only behind Manchester City on that performance".

"You can see why Leicester are where they are in the league and why they are in the FA Cup final," he added. "Leicester are a lot better than Southampton and far better than Chelsea. They are as good as the top boys."

Hard one to call, as the Hammers can really hurt us. Compared to us, they're fresh as daisies too.

I'm giving myself some more time to come to a prediction. I've been inundated by requests to do my reverse psychology prediction thing again, as it worked brilliantly for the FA Cup semi final. With only important matches for the next 4 weeks or so, it's a scary burden.

BTW now that Lampard hasn't got a gaffer's influence anymore, can we call them pikeys again, or has that been permanently banned? It's an insulting word, isn't it?

this despicable c**t would probably tank their remaining fixtures just to gloat at Chelsea as they’ve dropped out of PL

It breaches the EU Court of Human Rights so caution would be advised.

I was hoping WBA  would take a point or points off of Leicester yet not this time.

WHU have a couple of players out, think Rice is one so TT needs to get his tactics right.

West Ham have Rice, Cresswell and Masuku out to injury and Dawson out due to suspension.

We really should be beating them and if we struggle to score against them (Especially considering Newcastle and Arsenal put 3 past them) we might as well give up on the league and focus on the cups.

Ideally we would be able to rest a lot of players before our biggest game in a long time on Tuesday.

But this game is hugely important as well so it will be interesting to see what Tuchel does.

If we lose tomorrow the real possibility of only two of the big six finishing in the top four I was going to say oh the irony but when you consider who we're playing tomorrow it's not appropriate.

Changed my mind about result...

Purely becoz of the madrid match wham will win this game....

We couldnt sort out brighton.

We surely wont manage west ham with our possible team

Our run in is the most difficult. Have to fancy both Pool and West ham overtake us.

His team are doomed, he has failed to turn it around and is left dinning on that result at the bridge, which he will for a long time.

Only got ourselves to blame on that one though. Should not allow a trash manager and poor players like that to smash us.

Knowing that we play Real Madrid on Tuesday and the rotation Tuchel likes to do before these games, I'm not confident about winning the spammers. Brighton was the perfect game to give some rest to the main players and play others that need to show their value like Gilmour, Tammy and CHO (as a starter). But I guess Tuchel is going to rotate the starting eleven as usual before a CL game and we will lose with a bad performance. Then, we will go on to smash Real Madrid.

I suspect you are right yet don't see us thrashing anyone though perhaps edging a result against Real, I was going to say Galacticos yet that does not really apply anymore..........

yeah, you’re right, we can’t hit a barn door. I meant dominate them in play.

Would be surprised if the focus was not on the CL as it has been before. We are rank outsiders of the 4 left in it imo but then we were in 2012 as well.

When you look at it from TT point of view no one cares we finished 6th under RDM, we care he won us the big one. If he can repeat that he adds a massive point to his CV.

I expect Mendy returns in goal for this one, the rest is a guess based on expecting the false 9 trio to face Real.

Mendy

Dave

Zouma

Christensen

CHO

Jorginho

Kovacic

Alonso

Ziyech

Giroud

Werner

Yes, that is what I was responding to. In my original post I mentioned that I would be surprised if Tuchel did not rotate giving preference to the CL semifinal. Thus, I expect a crap performance against the spammers followed by a great game against Real Madrid. That seems to be the pattern.

I agree with you in that we are not favourites to win the CL (and I don't think it is going to happen), but I think that we blew our chances of top 4 against Brighton (not to mention WBA) and probably the "easiest" way to play the CL next season is winning it :bluescalf:

I personally think TT wants the CL, puts him in the shop window the trouble is this focus may cost us fourth spot.

I didn't expect us to beat City so we have a good chance in the FA Cup against the Foxes.

Of course it might up end with another season of winning sweet F.A.

Given how we and Leicester play we are second favorites in the final as we struggle against physical deep defences and quick counter attacks.

They are the best in the league at pulling off that strategy.
